Dating these days is just plain weird, awful, and terrible. People have become so bad at being vulnerable and courteous that they stoop so low as to "ghost" on someone. This podcast will follow my adventures of dating after a bad breakup, in a new city (Los Angeles), within a small community (lesbia…
Today's episode follows the incredible story of Arne Johnson, the first person in America who tried to use demon possession as a defense for murder. Our tale first begins with the possession of young David Glatzel, who was the brother of Arne's girlfriend Debbie. During the course of David's possession and exorcism, Arne himself becomes possessed and ends up violently murdering a friend of his. Music: Ross Bugden

On today's episode, Joey and I discuss some crazy first dates, what it's like dating in the deaf community as a hearing person, being Latino in the gay community, and how growing up in a traditional Latin house shaped his views of gender roles. "Marry Him! The Case for Settling for Mr. Good Enough" by Lorie Gottlieb inspired my previous episode on the previous episode about the balance between settling and being too picky as a millennial. Here's a reading of that article. An Excerpt: "They [the mothers in the mommy and me class], like me, would rather feel alone in a marriage than actually be alone, because they, like me, realize that marriage ultimately isn’t about cosmic connection—it’s about how having a teammate, even if he’s not the love of your life, is better than not having one at all".

Where do we draw the line between being too picky and having standards? It's hard for people in their 20s to reconcile the vision they had of their lives, and the reality that our economy and job market offer. I myself have been too picky in the past due to a past emotionally abusive relationship, but have also not been picky enough; ergo this podcast.Music by Alma Sever https://m.soundcloud.com/alma-sever

The most breakups all year happen around the weeks before and after Valentine's Day. Due to pressures of the day, expectations, and the magnification of current problems, the day that most singles dread, should actually be the day most couples dread. After exploring the psychology of Valentine's Day, I got into why it's actually better to be single in your 20s than in a relationship. Music by Alma Sever https://m.soundcloud.com/alma-sever

Season 2 is coming out Valentine's Day Week! Keep an eye out for more unique and fun interviews. I'm also amending part of my episode with Eric. There was a question brought up about his reaction to his female friend having men DM and comment on a workout photo she posted. I want to revisit this topic briefly.

From sex/gender and race dynamics in dating, to the changing roles in relationships, Eric and I cover a lot. We find a lot commonality in being black (him) and gay (myself) while navigating the dating scene. We also take the time to educate each other on our different experiences. He also has some juicy stories about fake pregnancies, and being caught by his high school girlfriend's dad in her room! For the last half of my 3 year relationship, I was in an emotional abusive relationship. I didn't realize it or the affect it had on me until years later. This my story of how I discovered I was able to find love and was allowed to love as a gay person, and how the love I received degraded into something so toxic and unhealthy, that it still lives with me to this day. I hope this episode can help others recognize abusive tendencies so they can get out of emotional abusive relationships, and also to start on discussion on a topic that is generally overlooked by society.

My love at first sight experience was wild. In college I was in love with a girl for almost six months who I barely spoke to, let alone knew. After going through my intensely fast falling in and out of love, I go over the different theories around why love at first sight is- and isn't- an actually thing that can happen. A lot of people complain about not getting matches or being able to have dates, but have they ever considered that maybe they're partially the problems? It's shocking how many bad dating profiles I've come across, and how many mistakes my friends make. From not having a clear photo of your face, to posting selfies with filters, people are making really obvious mistakes. And it's almost funny.|||Audible promo! http://www.audibletrial.com/50firstghosts |||Intro Music: Alma Server https://m.soundcloud.com/alma-sever |||Ad music:"Cheery Monday"Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/

This week's episode features one of the many lesbians named Sam in L.A. Sam, of The Small and The Angsty podcast, tells us the story of how she met her ex, and the rather dangerous situation that followed. We talk about first love, the problems with apps and modern dating, and -of course- ghosting.

"Lesbian Speed". "U-Haling". Whatever you want to call it, there's a stereotype that lesbians move fast in relationships. Real fast. But the question is why? After doing some digging around, I found some pretty interesting theories about internalized lesbianphobia, and developed a few of my own theories as to why lesbians tend to fall into the unhealthy habit of moving too fast.
