Remember “Night Court?” Tim Williams from 80's Flick Flashback and Robbie Sherman from Conversations with Robbie Sherman do, and they're here to talk about the most iconic Christmas episode ‘Santa Goes Downtown!'In its first Christmas episode, a defendant that identifies himself only as Santa Claus comes before the court. He's before the court accused of trespassing. “Santa,” who is referred to as "John Doe", seems to know everyone's name and facts about their pasts. Soon after, two troubled teens that refuse to give their names appear before Judge Stone. The two runaway teens, named Marty McFly—I mean Eddie—and Mary, shoplifted items from a convenient store. "Santa", convinced he actually is St. Nicholas, tries hard to persuade the teens that he is in fact Santa Claus. Consequently, he helps the young runaways resolve their issues and offers Harry the opportunity to succeed him as the next Santa. While the "Santa" turns out to be a harmless escaped mental patient, there are distinct hints that he may in fact be the real thing. (0:06:32) Bev: But it’s very similar, I think, to Pokemon Masters in that you have the whole character system, and they have different variations of the characters. (0:06:40) Bev: And there’s storylines, it’s a little bit more lore-centric than Pokemon Masters, because I feel like the dialogue doesn’t really matter in Pokemon Masters, unless I don’t read it. (0:06:52) Al: I think it depends who you are whether you (0:06:52) Bev: There’s too much of it. But yeah, at some point I would like to think that I would go back to read some of it, because some of it was entertaining. (0:07:04) Bev: I think more so the character specific one is not the actual like main (0:07:10) Bev: Story challenge (0:07:12) Bev: But yeah Twisted Wonderland is just a bunch of beautiful (0:07:18) Bev: Anime boys going to school and they’re based off of the Disney villains. So there’s a different house for each (0:07:26) Bev: Seven different Disney villains specifically (0:07:28) Bev: Now I don’t want to list them all just google it. It’s fun. It’s cute. I’m really into it I went to katsukan over the weekend and bought a whole bunch of birch (0:07:40) Bev: to this I (0:07:42) Bev: Was playing core island prior I think to my weekend of Twisted Wonderland and the anime convention of the weekend (0:07:49) Bev: But that has since fallen off (0:07:52) Bev: since coming back (0:07:56) Bev: But yeah (0:07:57) Al: This is very weird. Yeah harness the power of plants to restore the environment and build a flourishing community with your crew mates. (0:13:19) Bev: Ooh, that’s what it looks like. That is the only one [laugh] (0:16:50) Bev: So maybe that’s a new route we’re moving forward with all these games that you’re supposed to play a little bit every day, like Animal Crossing, that you just play a little bit every day and therefore it’s in early access so that you can start fixing these bugs early on. (0:18:50) Bev: The game itself kind of encourages you to play with people and I do enjoy that they have events but they don’t seem as like intensive as other like mobile or other like free to play games like I’m looking at you, Disney Dreamlight Valley that required me to put in a lot of effort for your last event and I will probably do the same with the next one. (0:19:16) Bev: So I don’t know it I like the work (0:19:20) Bev: I like the the premise behind it I like the like final like the fake like the fantasy component to it so there’s there’s a lot of aspects of it that I do like and the farming is not bad either like the tool system it’s on your your pocket so it’s already better in that sense I don’t love that there’s a specific order you should be planting your crops in because they give benefits or non to like the it’s (0:19:50) Bev: they’re not negative effects but the fact that I have to Google and save an image on my phone to know how to plant things which I rain but I can’t I can’t not if I know mm-hmm I have a spreadsheet (0:19:57) Al: Yeah, yeah, OK. (0:38:08) Bev: I suspect they’re using the galaxy component to have an in-game description for like world building essentially for how you’re able to island hop and animal crossing essentially. To finish October, we're talking about 2000's Ginger Snaps on the pod this week! The film, which Marie describes as the Canadian precursor to Jennifer's Body, is about two sisters named Ginger and Brigitte who are super close (and super angsty!). One day, Ginger gets her period for the first time, AND bit by a werewolf, and becomes a real ravenous b****! There are a lot of parallels between this and Jennifer's Body, such as the opposites-attract dynamic between the sisters, the blood-hungry transformation, and even the makeover moment reveal that happens during an iconic slow-motion, walking down the hallway scene. I think we can all agree that everyone goes through their angsty teen phase where they don't want to listen to their parents and want to operate to the beat of their own drum, but for 16-year-old Adam Sapikowski, the beat of his drum was a little off. Adam was the son of his extremely successful parents Jim and Alison Sapikowski and lived a life of “If I want it, I get it” which was in direct result of his parent's business. The family lived in a 5,000 sq ft home worth an upwards of $680,000 back in 2005, and he attended Durham Academy, which at the time cost $16,000 per year per student. Adam drove a brand-new Chevy Tahoe and had access to his parent's line of credit somewhere around $48,000 at any given time. Adam and the rest of the Sapikowski children were set up for success and lived in a loving home environment, so when Adam's grades started to slip and Prom was approaching rapidly, his parents wouldn't allow him to get his way unless they saw improvement. Just two nights before his Prom, Adam would allegedly get into a verbal argument with his father Jim and it would have a deadly conclusion.
