The Glass House can often be a fragile place to live, but when ministry couples experience trauma serving in ministry it becomes an extremely tender place to be.  Pastors and their wives often deal with families in their churches who are forced to face this tragedy, but what do they do when sudden loss by suicide touches their own family?Today Ben and Lynley invited Jason and Sarah Little to discuss the difficult topic of suicide. This is a very open and honest conversation that could be difficult for some to listen to.      Mentioned in the show: Surviving Suicide Loss: Making Your Way Beyond the Ruins book HERE GriefShare Program HERE Romans 8:1 HERE Galatians 6 HERE EMDR Therapy HERE Disappointment With God by Philip Yancey HERE Matthew 11:28 HERE Connect with the Glass House on Instagram HERE.  Please email us your questions at president@lifeway.com

The first two episodes of Bad Batch Season 2 feel like a bit of a regression from the strong ending we experienced in Season 1. The stakes are low, the world building is present but not a central focus, and there is little in the way of interesting character progression. On the positive side, we do get to see some beautiful bits of a destroyed Serenno, as well as more of Admiral Rampart and the clones who still serve the Empire, which helps to elevate an otherwise middling two-part episode.BECOME A PATRON: https://www.patreon.com/massivebreakdownpodcastDESTINY 2 PODS:PVP: https://destiny-massive-breakdowns.captivate.fm/listenPVE: https://pve-podcast-versus-enemies.captivate.fm/listenCHAT SERVER: https://discord.gg/TheyfeQHOME PAGE: https://destinymassivebreakdowns.com

This episode details the second half of an incredible hunt in Spain. von Benedikt and hunting partner Austin Brown drive halfway across the country, visiting castle ruins and ancient churches and cathedrals and staying in half-millennium-old inns, to hunt giant roebucks.  From botched shots and success on a world-class roebuck, to exploring 2,000-year-old Roman aqueducts and Moorish architecture and gold-encrusted Royal armor, this was an adventure.  Wrapping up, we talk through the process of booking and planning a hunt to Spain, including scheduling travel, sorting out paperwork, and getting your Spanish hunting license and firearm permit. On a worldwide spectrum, Spain is surprisingly easy and very accommodating.  ENJOY!   FRIENDS, PLEASE SUPPORT THE PODCAST!  Join the Backcountry Hunting Podcast tribe and get access to all our bonus material on www.patreon.com/backcountry VISIT OUR SPONSORS HERE:  www.browning.com www.barnesbullets.com www.timneytriggers.com www.leupold.com www.onxmaps.com www.silencercentral.com https://www.portersfirearms.com/ www.gunwerks.com www.siembidacustomknives.com https://javelinbipod.com

We are sharing in this episode in a direct meeting with Master Teacher the idea of "Compensation:" a term used also by Ralph Waldo Emerson as "something given or received" and Rumi in his work "The Ruins of the Heart" as a state of Being. It also has a meaning as the state of Pi and what we all know as an action of being compensated. In His demonstration He shows us how to bring the Unspeakable into words and the Unseen into a reflection of Truth. We are using Part I of the Master Teacher's video SCHA-03 of the Stem Cell Healing Activation Series -- Compensation. --- https://themasterteacher.tv/video/catalogue/volume-two/the-stem-cell-healing-activation-series/SCHA-03This series of podcasts and teachings is dedicated to all and everyone being interested in the teachings of the Master Teacher. After listening to introductory words we are sharing for 15-20 minutes a video demonstration of the M.T.. Afterwards everyone is invited to comment or ask questions to the presented teaching that will be reflected by #Devavan. The purpose of this gathering is to join with His Mind which is Christ Mind within our own Self and to experience the creative Light that is present as our own resurrected Mind. The teachings may include Texts and Workbook Lessons of A Course in Miracles #ACIM, publications of the #MasterTeacher or other scientists and one's own personal and universal Experience. The details for the ZOOM Login Info can be found on the main page https://devavan.com/YouTube: https://youtu.be/QDfvtulJf-c

CATCHLIGHT VISUAL STORYTELLING SUMMIT 2023: THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE  April 29, 2023 - https://www.catchlight.io - Minnesota Street Project, San Francisco  The non-profit media organization CatchLight will hold its 2023 Visual Storytelling Summit on the theme “The Change We Want to See.” Organized with Elizabeth Krist, curator and formerly a longtime photo editor at National Geographic, the event will feature a portfolio review in the morning, followed by presenters and topics spanning artificial intelligence imagery, reporting on environmental issues, reproductive rights, racial justice, and how local journalists are holding power accountable at a time when trust in public institutions is at an all-time low. CatchLight Global and Local Fellows—including Rafael Vilela and Harika Maddala, among others—will discuss their projects along with artists, founders, technologists, and innovative creatives working at the nexus of art, media, journalism, technology, and social impact.    This year's theme, “The Change We Want to See,” reflects the unique power of photography, visual journalism, and creative practices to drive social impact. “Images are instrumental to how we understand our world,” says Elodie Mailliet Storm, CEO of CatchLight. “Not only do they connect people emotionally to issues, they also promote deeper understanding, build trust, and spark action. I want the Summit to be a place where the global community of visual storytellers, media, and technology leaders can gather, share ideas, and push the field forward through partnership and innovation.”  Support Real Photo Show with Michael Chovan-Dalton by contributing to their tip jar: https://tips.pinecast.com/jar/real-photo-show

With a third of the year already gone by, the so-called pandemic has quietly dropped out from the main media news, but more worrying is the war continuing in Ukraine with no end in sight. As you know, we've supported Ukraine & Russian musicians with no malice to the latter, any music from them kept out of the politics of this war. The lineup for this edition is mostly names that have appeared before on Sequences, except for Alpha Romeo's sublime mixes of retro synth urban vibes with quality production. Beatless mixtures of treated guitar and electronics inspired by nature and effects treatments by Trem 77. On Tone Science no 7 are modular synthesists Andrew Ostler, three aspects of drones sequences & audio processing, with Dark Sparkler creating a stormy shipwreck of a patch with siren calls & turbulent water., finally Shajan on the relaxing subtle and multi-faceted music from another excellent compilation from BSC Music. The vintage track comes from the prolific German experimental musician Conrad Schnitzler associated with West Germany's Kraut rock movement, who joined Tangerine Dream for their debut album Electronic Meditation in 1970 and the founder of the band Kluster. Author and (post)activist Dougald Hine joins us this week for a powerful discussion about our moment and what -if anything- we should 'do' with and about it. The springboard for our chat is Dougald's recently-released book, At Work in the Ruins. We unpack the title -what do we mean by 'work'- as well as what we mean by 'ruins'. Physical? Cultural? Social? We talk about what it means to hospice modernity and we unpack why one of the founders of the Dark Mountain project is no longer talking about climate change. Really good stuff. Good, timely stuff. Enjoy!             Show Notes   At Work in the Ruins. Dougald's Website. A School Called Home.

Gillian Branstetter (of the ACLU's Women's Rights Project and LGBTQ & HIV Project) returns to Know Your Enemy for an episode on the strange case of Ron DeSantis: what is his ideology and vision for America? And why do his political aspirations involve inflicting wanton cruelty upon LGBTQ children and adults in his home state? For our sins, we read DeSantis's new book — a campaign book, though he has not yet formally announce his presidential run —  The Courage to Be Free: Florida's Blueprint for America's Revival. (You heard it here: it sucks.) Along the way, Gillian provides an update on the conservative war on so-called "gender ideology" and "wokeness," how organizations like hers are fighting back, and why superficial expressions of sympathy for trans people by major corporations and banks — which so outrage the right — are themselves a trap and a means of evading real justice.  We also discuss Sam's New York Times piece on DeSantis as an anti-woke technocrat, an embodiment of the twin cults of expertise and meritocracy, even as he disavows and demonizes the "ruling class" and it's irksome cultural mores. Finally, we identify the violent underpinnings of DeSantis's political impulses, discussing his alleged involvement in detainee abuse at Guantanamo Bay. As Gillian summarizes DeSantis's worldview, “It's just cold efficiency and shared enemies. That's what he's selling. It's like getting a moral lecture from a gun."  Sources:Gillian Branstetter, "The Gender War Is A Forever War," The Autonomy, Mar 5, 2023.— "When Biology Needs Some Help," The Autonomy, Feb 9, 2023.Ron DeSantis, The Courage to Be Free: Florida's Blueprint for America's Revival, Feb 2023Sam Adler-Bell, "The One Thing Trump Has That DeSantis Never Will," NY Times, Apr 10, 2023.Adrian Daub, What Tech Calls Thinking: An Inquiry into the Intellectual Bedrock of Silicon Valley, Oct 2020.Zack Beauchamp, "Ron DeSantis is following a trail blazed by a Hungarian authoritarian," Vox, Apr 28, 2022. Angelo Codevilla, "America's Ruling Class," The American Spectator, Jul 16, 2010. Jasper Craven, "The Sunshine Imperium: The militarism of Ron DeSantis," The Baffler, Mar 2023.Daniel Luban, "The Belligerent: Angelo Codevilla and the ideological origins of the New Right," The Baffler, Oct 2022. Wendy Brown, In the Ruins of Neoliberalism: The Rise of Antidemocratic Politics in the West, Jul 2019.Joseph Darda, The Strange Career of Racial Liberalism, Mar 2022. Olúfẹ́mi O. Since then, the part of his practice that seems to be growing the fastest is helping to address or prevent disruptive or inappropriate behavior. Dr. Bayley realized that a growing number of physicians were being put on administrative leave. And their licenses to practice medicine were being suspended or revoked. When he looked for books on the subject that he could share with physicians, he couldn't find any. So, he decided to write his own. That book was published recently, and Ryan joins me to cover many of the topics he wrote about. He describes why the system is becoming more dangerous, how to avoid exposing yourself, and what to do if you find yourself accused of disruptive behavior or of breaching personal boundaries. Buried Ruins is a play written by Vietnamese American actor and playwright, Carolina Đỗ . It started out as a series of interviews that Carolina did with her parents, over the course of almost nine years, and turned into a personal writing project about memory and wishful dreams. The play is centered around a series of torturously absurd family dinners interrupted by glitches of memories of the past. It is a reflection of Carolina's own experiences about Vietnamese parents and daughters trying to get through to one another despite generational trauma and the force of cultural assimilation. The play premiered in a staged reading in New York City with an all Vietnamese team, both onstage and backstage. This episode features discussions with Carolina, "Buried Ruins" director Cara Hinh, and actor Bi Jean Ngo. The conversation delves into the making of "Buried Ruins", the process of learning about one's parents, and what it's like to be Vietnamese American in the theater industry. Note: This episode contains some adult language that may not be appropriate for all ages.  Episode Credits: Executive Producer: Tracey Nguyễn Mang Associate Producer: Saoli Nguyễn VBP theme music: Clarity, Paulina Vo Other music: A Certain Shade of Blue: Paper Twins, Inside Clarity: Synthetic Tides

The worst of all the post-Mania shows this company has ever produced, and it should come as no surprise that Mr. Moustache was back behind the scenes rewriting the show literally as it was happening.
