While he was sitting with well-to-do, very religious people, a known sinful woman came and paid homage to Jesus in a dramatic way. When we alienate ourselves from God we can know that if we are humble enough to return, God will embrace us. No one is better than another in God's eyes because all of us have done wrong at some point. For that reason, Jesus followers should engage with those far from God and refuse to believe they are better than anyone.

There are things others do and say that can cause us to give up on them. The good news for us all is God never gives up.

Life keeps moving even when we want to stay still. God hasn't just called you to do this following Jesus thing on your own. No, God has called you to look after others who follow Jesus in a local body of believers and use your gifts to make sure they are growing in their faith.

Getting involved and helping in your community does not require a carefully defined strategy. All that is needed is to show up and use the means God has given you to do something of value for those around you.

If you're married or want to be married, your job is to set the example of Jesus for that person AND to model unconditional love and respect for them. To do that, you have to show up and be present with them consistently, not just when you feel like it.
