The Wisdom of our Pastor and other Speakers from our Sunday Morning Worship Services.
Jesus invites all who are weary and burdened with trying to find God to come to him so that he can give them rest and help. Jesus followers should invite others into God's presence by bringing them to Jesus. ****************** If you are new with us, want to pray with someone, or want to take the next step in your faith journey: churchonthedrive.org/next If you would like to give: churchonthedrive.org/give If you would like to to start volunteering somewhere in church or in our community: churchonthedrive.org/serve
When we think about moms, examples of selfless generosity are some of the first things we think of. Jesus followers should take these examples and be reminded that they, too, should be radically generous. ****************** If you are new with us, want to pray with someone, or want to take the next step in your faith journey: churchonthedrive.org/next If you would like to give: churchonthedrive.org/give If you would like to to start volunteering somewhere in church or in our community: churchonthedrive.org/serve
Jesus said that those who followed him should do what he did. For that reason, every follower of Jesus should make it a priority to serve others the way Jesus served them. ****************** If you are new with us, want to pray with someone, or want to take the next step in your faith journey: churchonthedrive.org/next If you would like to give: churchonthedrive.org/give If you would like to to start volunteering somewhere in church or in our community: churchonthedrive.org/serve
Connecting in a group matters and will grow your faith. If you're all in as a Jesus follower, you've got to be in a group with others, talking about the faith. ****************** If you are new with us, want to pray with someone, or want to take the next step in your faith journey: churchonthedrive.org/next If you would like to give: churchonthedrive.org/give If you would like to to start volunteering somewhere in church or in our community: churchonthedrive.org/serve
The day Jesus was resurrected from the dead everything was changed. The good news is that this was not just a one time event; it is a present power, too! ****************** If you are new with us, want to pray with someone, or want to take the next step in your faith journey: churchonthedrive.org/next If you would like to give: churchonthedrive.org/give If you would like to to start volunteering somewhere in church or in our community: churchonthedrive.org/serve
God is merciful and good to all, but judgment is a real thing, too. The good news for everyone is that mercy is available because of Jesus for anyone who wants it. ****************** If you are new with us, want to pray with someone, or want to take the next step in your faith journey: churchonthedrive.org/next If you would like to give: churchonthedrive.org/give If you would like to to start volunteering somewhere in church or in our community: churchonthedrive.org/serve
Some things are worth giving up other things for. The Kingdom of God is worth giving up everything for. ****************** If you are new with us, want to pray with someone, or want to take the next step in your faith journey: churchonthedrive.org/next If you would like to give: churchonthedrive.org/give If you would like to to start volunteering somewhere in church or in our community: churchonthedrive.org/serve
When we pray, we can be confident God hears us and is working on our behalf for what is best. We should keep the faith! ****************** If you are new with us, want to pray with someone, or want to take the next step in your faith journey: churchonthedrive.org/next If you would like to give: churchonthedrive.org/give If you would like to to start volunteering somewhere in church or in our community: churchonthedrive.org/serve
When we alienate ourselves from God we can know that if we are humble enough to return, God will embrace us. God's kindness is for all, not just the ones who have done all the right things. ****************** If you are new with us, want to pray with someone, or want to take the next step in your faith journey: churchonthedrive.org/next If you would like to give: churchonthedrive.org/give If you would like to to start volunteering somewhere in church or in our community: churchonthedrive.org/serve
No one is better than another in God's eyes because all of us have done wrong at some point. For that reason, Jesus followers should engage with those far from God and refuse to believe they are better than anyone.
There are things others do and say that can cause us to give up on them. The good news for us all is God never gives up.
Life keeps moving even when we want to stay still. If we listen to Jesus, what is ahead far surpasses what we can see now. ****************** If you are new with us, want to pray with someone, or want to take the next step in your faith journey: churchonthedrive.org/next If you would like to give: churchonthedrive.org/give If you would like to to start volunteering somewhere in church or in our community: churchonthedrive.org/serve
God hasn't just called you to do this following Jesus thing on your own. No, God has called you to look after others who follow Jesus in a local body of believers and use your gifts to make sure they are growing in their faith.
Getting involved and helping in your community does not require a carefully defined strategy. All that is needed is to show up and use the means God has given you to do something of value for those around you.
If you're married or want to be married, your job is to set the example of Jesus for that person AND to model unconditional love and respect for them. To do that, you have to show up and be present with them consistently, not just when you feel like it.
Grief is a place we like to escape from, not show up to, whether it's someone else's grief or our own. When we walk through grief we've got to lean into it and feel it for things to ever get better.
You don't have to have all the answers, but no one will turn to Jesus just because you hoped for it. Jesus followers must show up to conversations with people about faith.
Followers of Jesus have been made good to do good that makes God look good. In this first week of the new year, our church family has a plan for how we are going to do that.
John the Baptizer told people they were all waiting for someone to show up who was much more powerful than him and they should live in a way that was ready for Him to appear. 2000 years later, we wait for this same savior to reappear and should live lives that show we are ready.
Peace in our world can be elusive on both an international scale and a personal level. The good news is that our king, Jesus, brings peace wherever he goes.
Those who followed Jesus after the resurrection may have grown weary after he did not return immediately. They were probably tempted to give up, but the Church called them to keep waiting for Jesus and be patient. The same is true for us now.
When we are thankful it is expressed and proven by our actions. The best news is that, ultimately, our active thankfulness can help others, too.
One of the greatest joys any Jesus follower can have is leading their family to faith. An even more unique opportunity is for family members to lead their family in faith.
Most people believe they have good hearts. What we do with our abilities reveals whether or not this is actually true.
Believing in Jesus can't become a substitute for following Jesus. To follow Jesus we have to walk in the way of love and determine that people always matter more.
Christians should abandon war language and the mindset that comes with it. Jesus said to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. It's not us vs them. It's about bringing heaven to earth in everything we do.
Rather than try to win a culture war and rule through force, Jesus followers are called to serve others and put their needs ahead of our own. We follow Jesus's example best when we show others we are for them, not against them.
Following Jesus isn't about winning or losing a culture war. It's about losing your life so you can find it. It's about laying down your life so that others might live....even when it comes to politics.
We've allowed division into our churches. Once upon a time, people knew who Christians were by the unity they displayed and by the way they behaved. It is no longer evident.
Jesus swings the doors open wide and invites everyone who would call him king to participate in the service of the Kingdom of God. Anyone who harms the faith of someone trying to follow and serve Jesus will answer to God.
Each of us has done things we are not proud of. This can leave us wondering if God would ever forgive us.
Most people will concede that Jesus was a great moral teacher, but many have trouble accepting he was God, too. The accounts of Jesus's life reveal that he and his followers believed he was much more than a teacher.

Most Christians have faced periods of doubt in their life. The good news is that doubt is not the opposite of faith; certainty is.
God calls us to overcome anxiety by keeping our focus on what will last eternally. If we don't value God's priorities the most we will be anxious about the things of this world.

Sometimes the situations in our lives are complex and we cannot always find a perfect answer for each one in the Bible. When we read the Bible, though, we can find truth that will lead us to the best possible way forward.
We should always work to understand the Bible in context. Trying to understand scripture in context ultimately helps us to appreciate and love Jesus more.
One of the most common questions asked in church is, “How am I supposed to be reading the Bible?” If you don't have a good strategy or reason behind reading the Bible, it might not be something as meaningful to you as it could be.

Life just makes more sense when we put things in their proper order. When we organize our lives around Jesus, everything is put in the right order.

Once you were alienated from God but now God has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight. If you continue in your faith and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel all will be well.
Jesus advocated for a new way of treating people in our life. This new way will see others as equal in value to us and God and will be fully realized when Jesus returns.

Doubt is not the absence of faith, but the proof there is belief. We should acknowledge there is doubt and not shame others for feeling it.
We are restless because we know this world isn't what it is supposed to be yet. But the kingdom is coming and we can see glimpses of it all the time. We should bring heaven to earth!
