Your stories don't define you. How you tell them will. Hi! I'm Sarah Elkins, your host and chief storymaker at Elkins Consulting. If you've been listening to my show for a while, you've probably noticed a big change in the format in recent weeks. Summertime is hard on podcasters! We lose a lot of our listeners this time of year and it can be difficult to be motivated to keep putting out quality content when we know people aren't as likely to listen. This summer I've been focused on brief, less than 20-minute episodes that keep a person's attention while still offering insights and entertainment. What you've been hearing, and will continue to hear in each episode, is a brief story of pivotal moment in my life, and then a thread pulled to generate insights about it. I have two goals for you, dear listeners: One – to uncover your related story for you to add to your collection to practice and have ready when the opportunity presents itself. And two – to demonstrate storytelling in a practical, approachable way so you hear how I compose my words, phrases, and use tone-of-voice to add dynamics and meaning. In today's episode you'll hear two stories from my past, and a recent story that demonstrates insights from them. We experience meaningful moments every day, things that shape who we are and how we behave into the future, but most of us don't think about life that way. I've heard people talk about how raising kids takes a village, but when it's time to offer assistance and support, they quickly turn to judgment instead. Shaking their heads and "tsk tsk"ing under their breath, as if a parent doesn't see your expression or hear your judgment. And that's not helpful. Most of us have been on the other side of the equation, accidentally cutting someone off in traffic, and then a few minutes later honking at someone who does the same thing. Or allowing our frustration to erupt in a loud voice at our kid, and years later judging a parent for the same behavior. It was my experience as a parent that helped me see things from that perspective, but it shouldn't take being in their shoes to offer compassion and assistance. Watching the drama unfold at the airport brought it all back to me, the challenges of being a parent, especially of a toddler, and the ridiculousness of the judgment I experienced. Judged if I lost track of the toddler and judged by having the wrist tether on him. Judged if I give in to the tantrum and judged for walking away from the cartful of groceries. It's hard enough being a parent, with all the self-doubt and exhaustion, do we really need to add external judgment to the equation? Offering compassion to that father was a full-circle moment for me, a pivot-point in the realization that my experiences from the past truly shaped who I am today. Calvin #3: MCP goes stateless — and FastMCP gets renamed From Philipp Acsany over at Real Python The 2026-07-28 spec landed July 28 and the Python SDK shipped 2.0.0 the same day. Biggest rewrite since MCP launched, and it's breaking on purpose. Context for scale: the Tier 1 SDKs are pulling close to half a billion downloads a month, with TypeScript and Python each past a billion total. The headline is the stateless core. The initialize/initialized handshake and the Mcp-Session-Id header are both retired — protocol version, client identity, and capabilities now ride in _meta on every request, with an optional server/discover RPC if a client wants capabilities up front. Any request can land on any instance behind plain round-robin, no shared storage. Server-initiated calls are the hard part of the migration. Sampling, elicitation, and roots/list no longer call back to the client; instead the server returns resultType: "input_required" and the client retries with inputResponses attached. Multi Round-Trip Requests, MRTR. Also: Mcp-Method and Mcp-Name are now required headers so gateways route on headers instead of cracking JSON bodies, and missing-resource errors move to standard 32602. Deprecation sweep with an actual policy behind it — Roots, Sampling, Logging, and the legacy HTTP+SSE transport all deprecated with a twelve-month minimum offramp. Tasks graduated out of the experimental core into a real extension, which is what the formalized extensions framework was for. MCP Apps is now an official extension too, so a tool call can return sandboxed interactive HTML. Auth picked up RFC 9207 issuer validation, issuer-bound credentials, and a shift from DCR toward CIMD. Python SDK 2.0 is where it gets personal: FastMCP is now MCPServer, no alias, no shim. McpError → MCPError. Wire types went snake_case (is_error, input_schema) and moved to a standalone mcp_types package, with mcp.types kept as a permanent alias. One Client object replaces the old transport + ClientSession + initialize() stack. httpx became httpx2. Sync handlers run on worker threads now, so asyncio.get_running_loop() raises inside them. Religious moralists are indignant at and critical of other people's shortcomings and indulgent of their own, but judging others is evidence that they themselves might be judged. God's judgment is a fact of human existence that must be reckoned with if people want to escape the realm of fantasy and live in the real world. The assumption that “God would never condemn anybody” is so common today that Paul's approach to the subject of divine judgment is largely rejected. Pastor Derek explores the concepts of the Truth and the Lie according to the Bible. He explains how believing the Truth leads to life, while believing the Lie leads to destruction. He emphasises the importance of embracing God's truth and rejecting falsehoods, in our spiritual journey of faith. This is ideal for those seeking a deeper understanding of the foundations of the Christian faith. The TRUTH by its very nature is NARROW, whereas the LIE is BROAD. There is ONE TRUE GOD and one true faith, but there are many false gods, and many false religions. Therefore, you will only find the TRUTH, by having a heart commitment to seek and to know the TRUTH of God, and a refusal to take the easy way, and accept the convenient lies that make your life easier (Matthew 7:13-14). The truth is reality, the Lie is an illusion. The Truth of God: (1) God is the Creator. and sovereign over all. He defines our identity and purpose. (2) There is an absolute standard of right and wrong (the Moral Law, based on God's own nature), and we are accountable to God to keep His Law. (3) Thus there is such a thing as SIN and GUILT, when we break God's Moral Law. (4) We will be JUDGED by God for how we have lived. Atheists say that faith in God is an escape for people afraid of the dark, whereas the truth is that atheism is a fairy-tale escape for people who are afraid of the light. We must choose between the light (truth) and the darkness (lie), John 3:19-20. The Lie is the denial of the truth. If there is no God, there is no absolute right or wrong, so we are free to do whatever we want, which is attractive to many. The LIE says there is no ultimate reality beyond this evolving universe, which means we can define our own truth. This allows man to be his own god, with the right to decide in himself, what is right and wrong, and he is not accountable to any higher being. This means this universe came into being from nothing by accident, and evolved all by itself – irrational! The Lie is EVOLUTION. Believing the LIE puts you in the broad road to corruption & destruction (Romans 1:18-25). Satan is the father of the Lie (John 8:44, Isaiah 14:12-14, Ezekiel 28:13-18, Revelation 12:3-4, Genesis 3:1-4). Believing the Truth is necessary to be saved, for the Gospel of salvation through Christ only makes sense if you believe the truth of God, righteousness, sin & judgment. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12: “They will PERISH, because they did not receive the LOVE of THE TRUTH, that they might be SAVED. And for this reason, God will send them strong DELUSION, that they should believe THE LIE, that they all may be CONDEMNED, who did not believe THE TRUTH, but had PLEASURE in unrighteousness.” When men reject the TRUTH, because they want to be free to enjoy a sinful lifestyle, they open their heart to embrace the LIE (the only alternative), the deception that there is no God, so they can be their own god, free to live as they please. This then becomes the basis for their final CONDEMNATION by God. So, an essential first step for people to be SAVED is that they must believe in the TRUTH of the CREATOR God.
