Our thanksgiving for this property must be rooted in the gospel, always proclaiming the glory of God. Pastor Micah preaches at King's Cross Church.
"It's Complicated" is our series at Fusion Christian Church on relationships. Everyone knows our relationships are messy, but not everyone knows how to navigate them. This series will provide godly, biblical principles for keeping your relationships much less complicated! In Part 2, Joel Pierce (our worship director) talks about how to have a godly influence on the people around you.Influence is wasted if it does not point to Christ. We can influence people in many ways, but unless we point to Christ we are wasting our time. People might remember you fondly for telling good jokes and being a fun person, but these things are temporary. By pointing people to Christ in all we do we can have an impact on their eternity, not just their present.Give God the Glory. In leadership, as in all things, we must learn to give God the glory. Any time you attempt to influence people, you are attempting leadership, even if you have no official position. By giving God glory, we not only recognize our creator, but we help keep ourselves out of the spotlight. in that way, giving God glory is really about keeping ourselves humble. If you desire influence in order to make yourself look better, you have the wrong attitude. Glorifying God instead maintains a humble attitude.Start Small. If you're trying to have a positive impact on others, it's important to focus on the people around you first. Stop worrying about the people who are not in your sphere of influence and focus on the people who are. If you are faithful with the few people God has placed around you, God will reward your diligence and increase your influence according to your abilities.Orthodoxy and Orthopraxy.Orthodoxy and Orthopraxy refer to right teaching and right practice, respectively. When you combine them, they encapsulate what we believe and how we live out that belief. If we can maintain those two things effectively, then we are on our way to setting a right example in our lives. God calls all Christians to set an example for those around us. If we can keep our doctrine and practice sound, then we will encourage those around us through our example.
God desires His people to live under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Does following Jesus mean retreating from everyday life or learning how to fully engage it? In the kickoff episode of our new series Not Just Sacred, we explore the biblical vision of a faith that encompasses ALL of life. From work and money to reading, sports, and ordinary pleasures, this episode reframes the false divide between the sacred and the secular. As we trace the Bible's story, from creation to new creation, we discover that God is not abandoning the world, but redeeming it. Our hope is that this series helps you learn to glorify God not by withdrawing, but by faithfully engaging the world he called “good.”

(This podcast was previously published on February 21, 2021) Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... Many ministers in today's churches glorify themselves by sharing what they think. These are ministers of Satan as they seem to be "angels of light," deceiving churches. Paul says: II Corinthians 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Some years ago, I heard the Catholic pope say on TV news that he didn't see anything wrong with homosexuals. I screamed out: "What about the Bible." Romans 1:26-27 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. The scriptures glorify God, showing God's view of the situations. The Catholic pope glorifies himself giving his views. A divorced woman wanted to remarry. She went to a pastor to see if she, being divorced, could remarry. The pastor said, "My sister divorced and remarried. I don't see anything wrong with this." So this woman remarried after divorce. Later she was born again and began reading the Bible and saw by the various scriptures that the divorced woman who remarries commits adultery. The pope and the pastor lead people into damnation, failing to present the Word of God on the issue. And they glorify their own selves by their own opinions. Ministers of God glorify God by presenting the views spoken by God. Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 10-12 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Damnation to every minister who speaks his own opinions and fails to share the words of God on the matter at hand. The Words of God are salvation to us who believe, and those Words glorify God when we speak them. ***** In today's church, ministers of Jesus are called by Jesus from heaven. The apostle Paul tells king Agrippa about his calling by Jesus from heaven to be a minister of Jesus. Acts 26 Paul says: 12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, 13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. 14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou ME? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And HE said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. 16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; 17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, 18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in ME. 19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: Today, each minister of Jesus is called from heaven by Jesus, as was Paul, and put into the ministry offices by Jesus according to the will of God. It is not by his own will that a minister to the New Testament church goes into the ministry. It is by the call of the Spirit of Jesus. Ephesians 4 8 Wherefore HE saith, When HE ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 11 And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into HIM in all things, which is the head, even Christ: *** But today many ministers are ministers of Satan. They, by their own will, not by the call of Jesus, put themselves into the ministry. II Corinthians 11 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. *** Jesus says, concerning the last days: Matthew 24:4-5 Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in MY name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

“God, what do you have for me?” In today's conversation, we're reframing the idea of “calling” through Scripture and real life. We'll look at biblical examples like Joseph and David, who weren't chasing titles or platforms — they were simply doing the next right thing, trusting God, and stewarding what He had already given them. In this episode, we talk about: What the Bible actually teaches about calling and purpose Why faithfulness in everyday life matters more than big plans How small, obedient decisions make a huge spiritual impact Glorifying God in marriage, work, motherhood, friendships, and business Recognizing and stewarding the unique gifts God has placed inside you Why being plugged into the body of Christ is essential for growth and stepping into what God has for you How prayer brings clarity when you're unsure what God is asking of you If you've been feeling pressure to “figure everything out,” this episode will help you rest, refocus, and move forward with faith. TODAY'S TREASURE In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God. And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For nothing will be impossible with God.” And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.Luke 1:26-38 ESVSend us a comment!Support the show

Inside the Magic reports that her cherished Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge slashed operations on December 14, closing at 6 p.m. instead of the full day due to biting winter weather, disappointing fans eyeing the Smoky Mountain Christmas festivities and highlighting the parks seasonal vulnerabilities. No direct involvement from Dolly herself surfaced there, but it underscores her empires ongoing heartbeat. House Beautiful revisited her festive flair, recalling from The Ellen Show how she decks multiple homes with themed treeslike water motifs at her lake houseand a 2024 People interview affirming she never skips family Christmas traditions. In the final week of Rhythms, Pastor Tyler invites us to see our bodies the way God sees them: as holy places where His Spirit dwells. Instead of viewing our bodies only through frustration, insecurity, or the pressure to perform, Scripture reminds us that we were created in God's image, formed with purpose, and called to glorify Him with our whole selves.Your strengths and your limitations are not accidents, they are opportunities to worship the God who is shaping you from the inside out.Questions for Reflection:• How are you using your strengths to worship God?• How are you using your weaknesses to worship God?

Why are you retiring? Is it because you're too old to work? Is it because you're ready for a break? Is it because you're ready for a change? We need to recognize why we want to retire. Change is OK. But it doesn't mean that retirement is an end to our work. God gave us work as a gift. That gift continues throughout our lives until the very last breath. Our work is meant to glorify God. If you're retiring because you're just tired of the job that you're in or the industry that you're in, maybe God has something new and fresh for you. Remember this. You have a lifetime of wisdom that the next generations need. The next generations desperately need you to pour your life into them. Retire with a purpose, and pour your life into others.
This sermon explores the concept of glorifying God through the lens of Jesus' words in John 17:4. It delves into the nature of God's glory, Christ's mission on earth, and how believers can participate in glorifying God. Pastor Ben Jacquot emphasizes that true glorification comes through rightly ordering our loves, with love for God being supreme. The sermon also discusses Christ's accomplishment of His mission and its implications for believers' salvation and purpose. Key Points: God's glory is both intrinsic to His nature and reflected in creation Glorifying God means rightly ordering our loves, with love for God being primary Christ's mission involved revealing the Father, representing humanity, and redeeming sinners Believers can have confidence in their salvation based on Christ's completed work Christians are called to participate in Christ's mission through gospel proclamation Scripture Reference: John 17:4 (primary) Additional references: Philippians 2, John 1:18, John 3:16, John 12

Drawing from Romans 15, Dr. Minnick emphasizes that Christ's ministry to the Jews served a dual purpose: confirming promises made to the fathers and ultimately enabling the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy. He underscores the importance of unwavering loyalty to Christ, referencing historical figures and biblical passages to illustrate the enduring promise of a worldwide kingdom where all nations will praise God, fueled by hope and the power of the Holy Spirit.

“To God be the glory, great things He has done.” Listen to this last message on Paul's letter to the Philippians to summarize the principles taught in it. Hear Scriptures about God's glory in the New Testament and the meaning of calling upon the name of the Lord. Find out about God's unique essence, including His unique power to perform all He plans. Give God credit for all He has done and is doing for you daily and be encouraged to step up and take your stand in a wicked and perverse world which needs the glorious good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
How can we glorify or give glory to God? Listen to this absorbing message on the glory of God, beginning with a number of definitions which include its many facets. Hear Scriptures where the Apostle Paul ascribes glory to God in doxologies which have been incorporated in some of the hymns we sing. Listen to principles about the glory of God, focusing on its manifestations in the Old Testament in this lesson. Understand that nothing we do adds to the glory of God, but by describing God's essence and His deeds we can gain comprehension of it.
What does it mean to see work not as a curse but as part of God's original design? In this episode of Christ the Center, Camden Bucey is joined by board member Mark Van Drunen to welcome David L. Bahnsen for a rich conversation about his new book, Full-Time: Work and the Meaning of Life. Bahnsen is the founder, Managing Partner, and Chief Investment Officer of The Bahnsen Group, a private wealth management firm managing more than $4.5 billion in client assets. David is the author of Crisis of Responsibility: Our Cultural Addiction to Blame and How You Can Cure It, The Case for Dividend Growth: Investing in a Post-Crisis World, and There's No Free Lunch, 250 Economic Truths. Mark Van Drunen works in finance and is a ruling elder at Redeemer PCA in Hudson, Ohio. He serves on the Reformed Forum Board of Directors. Together, they explore how a robustly Reformed view of vocation challenges the sacred–secular divide, recovers the dignity of labor, and reorients our understanding of productivity and flourishing. Drawing from Genesis 1, Reformed anthropology, and the legacy of Kuyper, Bahnsen argues that work is not a mere means to consumption or status, but an essential expression of our identity as image-bearers of God. The discussion also addresses pressing contemporary questions—from the pitfalls of “work–life balance” and “follow your passion” mantras, to the theological problems with universal basic income and the cultural obsession with consumption. Listeners will be encouraged to see their daily labor as an act of worship, anticipating the greater work of the new creation secured in Christ. This is a conversation at the intersection of theology, economics, and discipleship—aimed at helping Christians recover a biblically grounded vision for work that fosters maturity in Christ and glorifies God in every sphere of life.
