Text: Matthew 15:21-28Intro: Does anybody watching have a need in your life? I suspect that most of you hearing my voice have many needs. In the midst of your problems, you need someone to help you. You need someone you can turn to for your solution. You need God to work in your life. That is the situation we are looking at in this passage today. Jesus is approached by a mother who is in a desperate situation. She needs […]

Text: Genesis 40:23Intro: Our text shows Joseph in the midst of a great trial of faith. He has been mistreated, misrepresented, falsely accused and imprisoned. In the midst of it all Joseph remained patient and kept his testimony intact. He did not see himself as a victim, but as a victor waiting for his liberty! Through it all, he refused to be a victim. (Gen. 39:23) I want us to see Joseph in his prison. His experiences there have some much needed […]

Text: Matthew 28:1-7Intro: Today, we celebrate the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Today, we celebrate the greatest event on the Christian calendar. I am glad Jesus was born. I praise God for the life He lived. But I rejoice that He rose again from the dead. If He had not come out of that grave, we would still be lost and in our sins. (Eph. 2:1&12)After the death of Jesus were a hopeless time for His disciples. […]

Text: Revelation 5:5Intro: The scene is the throne of God. Time has ceased to exist; it is now eternity. The saints of all ages have gathered to see Jesus. There we read of the mighty throne where great bursts of light flash forth from God. John said it was more dazzling than a glittering diamond or a shining ruby. There a curved rainbow encircled his throne. (Rev.4:8) (Rev. 4:11 KJV) (Rev. 5:1-4, LB) The scroll in the hand of God […]

TEXT: Acts 17:27INTRO: It’s a beautiful thing to be gently led by the Holy Spirit. God directing you and showing you His way; His preference is not to resort to chasing you in the right direction—but He will. (Hosea 5:15) When we don’t follow the gentle leadings of God’s Word and of the Holy Spirit, we grow insensitive to His presence. If we remain stubborn or insensitive, He will get our attention one way or the other.

Text: Numbers 11:1-3 (NLT)Intro: In our text, we see discouragement in the life of one of the greatest men who ever walked on this planet; a man named Moses. As Moses climbed the mountain of leading God’s people, he became discouraged because of the burdens he had been called upon to bear. As a result, he came to the place where he just wanted to throw in the towel and quit. This passage gives us insight into why this event occurred in […]

Jesus is coming back one day. Did you know that? I’m being totally serious. One day, unannounced in the church bulletin, without a Facebook event, no crazy video promotions, Jesus is just going to show back up and take His children out of this world. This event is called the Rapture of the Church, and it’s not something we talk about very much anymore. It’s one of those things that makes us sound crazy when we start talking about it, […]

Text: Mark 4:35-41Intro: It had been a long and difficult day for the Lord Jesus. During the day Jesus sat in a little boat just off the shore of the Sea of Galilee. He had used that boat as His pulpit as He preached to the great multitudes. When the day was over, He called His disciples to set sail for the other side of the lake. When darkness fell, the disciples were making their way across that little lake. […]

Text: Genesis 39:7-23Intro: When the sun sat each day on Joseph's life, he could rest easy, because he has been faithful. When with his father Jacob, he had been a faithful son. When sold to Potiphar, he proved to be a faithful servant. Because he had been faithful, the Lord blessed everything he did. Joseph remains faithful to God, and to himself, in the face of some problems that would cause many others to fail. The world, the flesh and […]
TEXT: Galatians 5:22-23INTRO: Our text is one that might be familiar to many of you sitting in this room today. If it's not, no worries, I'll bring you up to speed. Our text is an excerpt from Paul's letter to several assemblies of believers in Galatia. This would have been in the region we know today as Turkey. The book of Galatians, as a whole, is aimed at combating legalism in those assemblies. This provides an excellent backdrop for the […]

Text: Matthew 9:35-38Intro: The Barna Research Group has found that 33% of Americans are unchurched; it found that 20% of those believe that living a good life will gain them a place in heaven. Given those two statistics alone, that tells us that 53% of Americans are unsaved and (if something does not happen probably) on their way to hell. This does not take into account the people who are atheists, or are involved in occult forms of worship. And if […]

Text: Genesis 37:36; 39:1-6Intro: Joseph had been sold to Ishmaelite merchants for about $100… the price of a crippled slave! They took Joseph to Egypt and put him up for sale. Put yourself in Joseph's shoes. You are stripped of your coat, betrayed by people who should have loved you, separated from your father, and carried off into a strange land. Imagine the lies Satan told him. (Gen. 39:2)

TEXT: Colossians 3:1-4INTRO: Perspective is in an interesting word. Thursday, some co-workers and I were talking about our varying perspectives on how long a year is. Think about it. When you're graduating Kindergarten at the seasoned old age of 5, one year represents 20% of the life you've lived. When you're 18 and graduating high school, one year represents 5.5% of the life you have already lived. When you're a dad in your mid 30's, that same year is only […]

It is no secret that the world we live in is in desperate need of the power and intervention of Jesus Christ. We live in a busted and broken world that seems to grow more dismal every day. What does the Bible say the church can do about this? We are the body of Christ, but I believe we don't appreciate the grand design in God's plan to express Himself to this world through the church. If the world needs […]
Our Team, along with volunteers from 3 other local churches, went to Montana to minister to the people there.
Text: Genesis 37:5Intro: Have you ever experienced the heartbreak of a shattered dream? When our dreams are shattered it often leaves us devastated, confused and upset. Sometimes we might be tempted to think that God has forgotten us and our dreams. I wonder how Joseph felt. I wonder if he questioned the dreams God had already given him, (Gen. 37:5,9). Look at these verses… If they teach us anything, they teach us that life can seem incredibly unfair at times. […]

Text: 1 Chronicles 27:25-34Intro: What we have in these verses is a list of the officers who served in David’s court along with the duties each carried out. It must have been a great honor to be chosen by the king for a place of service. But, have you ever considered that the Lord chooses out men and women to serve Him? (Eph. 2:10) (1 Cor. 12:4-6,11) This list of officials from David's kingdom can teach us some lessons about […]
TEXT: Judges 16:22INTRO: In the life of Samson, we find great hope that God can use us best after we are broken. Isn't that good news! I don't know how you walked in here this morning, but I pray you walk out of here ready to do the greatest work for the Lord that you've ever considered. As we consider the story of Samson, you'll see a man gifted by God, but consumed with himself. You'll see a man of […]
TEXT: Deuteronomy 7:9 (NIV)INTRO: God is faithful. God's faithfulness is not something He does. Faithfulness is (part of) who God is, it is part of His character. But how do we know that God is faithful? If someone told you “I am a faithful person”, would you believe them, or would you want proof over a long period of time? Taking God at His word is never wrong. If He said it, it can be trusted. But how can we […]

TEXT: Daniel 5:27INTRO: Ronald Reagan once said, “If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” Our nation has been blessed by God. We could not have accomplished all we have without the divine hand of God intervening. We prospered as a people who reverenced God as holy and sovereign, but I fear that is changing. Not only does our nation hang in the balance, but we must also apply […]
Text: Genesis 37:5-7Intro: In our first message on Joseph, we discovered his family was marked by vice and violence. This godly man grew up in some ungodly soil. If He can do that with Joseph, He can take you and me and use us for His glory! God specializes in taking nothing and making something magnificent out it. No two children are alike. Joseph, however, is so different that he literally stands out.
