This week, we're diving into Shattered, a horror anthology made up of five twisted tales that peek into the darkest corners of the human mind. From a vengeful chef serving cold revenge to a dying dad's unsettling last wish, this one's got everything: chaos, carnage, and a surprisingly solid binge. We break down every eerie chapter and answer the ultimate question, is Shattered worth your time to stream? Spoiler alert: yes. So stay comfy on that couch, press play, and let us do the heavy lifting (and screaming) for you.
At the dawn of the twentieth century, Europe believed it was marching toward heaven guided by reason, faith, and progress. Within a decade, that confidence drowned in the trenches of the Somme. In this episode, we trace how the First World War didn't just end empires; it ended belief itself. We explore how the same industrial power that built modern civilization became the engine of its destruction, how the churches lost their moral compass, and how a generation of thinkers, poets, and soldiers were left asking whether God or meaning itself had died on the battlefield. It's the story of how a war meant to redeem the world instead left it haunted by silence.

This summer, I hit a breaking point. Seriously, my friends wanted to admit me for professional help. After my most recent breakup, I was on the verge of a breakdown. Not because a man had that much power over me —but because of what his leaving exposed within me.The breakup wasn't the cause of my pain;it was the catalyst that cracked open the deep places of my heart —places where old wounds and patterns had been hiding for years. So today, I'm sharing something deeply personal. This isn't for him, although it's addressed to him. This is for the woman listening right now who knows that kind of ache — the anxious heart that just wants answers, the love that feels unfinished, the pain that God promises to redeem. And this is not just for singles--I know married women who need this healing. If you've ever loved an avoidant,if you've ever been ghosted,if you've ever been left wondering what went wrong,I pray this episode brings you comfort and clarity.Because sometimes… God uses heartbreak to bring healing.

The Stones go punk, disco, and full swagger. Billy, Matthew and Ryan drop the needle on The Rolling Stones' Some Girls, the album that dragged classic rock into the late ‘70s with grit, groove and a wink. From “Miss You” to “Beast of a Burden”, “Far Away Eyes,” and “Shattered,” the brothers break down Mick Jagger's NYC swagger, Keith Richards' guitar alchemy, and the band's most dangerous comeback. It's a deep dive into the punk vs. disco era, the Pathé Marconi sessions, and how Some Girls proved the Stones could still out-cool everyone.

Turns out medical students are regular humans who happen to need to memorize the Krebs cycle We've all got that mental image of medical students – the type-A perfectionists grinding through textbooks even on the porcelain throne, right? Well, our first-year medical students at Iowa are about to blow up every assumption you've ever had. Turns out the people memorizing a zillion anatomical structures aren't exactly who you'd expect. M1s Chase McInville, Lillian Schmidt, Jonah Albrecht, and Abbie Townsend reveal why your pre-med study plans are probably useless, how a hockey ref's confidence translates to patient care, and why some medical students refuse to study on Saturdays. We explore the real traits that matter (spoiler: it's not being a genius), bust the myth about cutthroat competition, and discover why medical school might actually be more collaborative than your average undergrad group project. Plus, we settle the burning question every pre-med wants answered: can you actually prepare for medical school, or should you just go backpacking in Europe instead? These Short Coats share what non-medical experiences shaped them most, from building houses with Habitat for Humanity to working political campaigns to reffing hockey games to farming vegetables with zero agricultural background. This isn't your typical “day in the life” medical school content. We're talking about the messy reality of learning to learn again, the unexpected diversity of personalities in short white coats, and why the smartest thing these students do might be admitting they don't know everything. The episode ends with the Short Coats working together to hash out the vibes of med student life. Hint: there should really only be five nerves. Jason from Binge Movies (the B-movie appreciator), Megan from Spoilerpiece Theatre (the beautifully balanced critic), and Paul from The Countdown (the show's own Scrooge) return to close out one of the bloodiest years in horror history — 1981. The Blood Pool for this round includes: The Burning (May 8, 1981) – Campfire tales come to life in this legendary summer-camp massacre featuring early work from Harvey Weinstein's Miramax and makeup FX master Tom Savini. Happy Birthday to Me (May 15, 1981) – A prep-school mystery packed with bizarre deaths, psychological twists, and one unforgettable birthday party. The Prowler (Nov 6, 1981) – A WWII-themed slasher where vengeance and Savini's most brutal gore collide. Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker (Nov 20, 1981) – A disturbing mix of domestic madness and queer-coded psychological horror that defies the slasher label entirely. BT and Sal explode over the New York Giants' stunning reversal of fortune, led by the "Jaxson Dart Effect," declaring the NFC East race is wide open as the Philadelphia Eagles look "fractured" and are trending down. The duo debates a potential aggressive push for a trade to accelerate the Giants' timeline, with names like Judy, Olave, and Waddle floated. Later, they transition to a furious recap of the Jets' continued struggles, with Brian Baldinger (Baldy) breaking down the pathetic offensive performance against Denver and defending Garrett Wilson's on-field 'chirping' at the coaches. Finally, the guys hype up the can't-miss Rangers-Oilers clash featuring stars like Connor McDavid and Igor Shesterkin, which one host is rushing to attend before filming a TV scene!

BT and Sal dive into the Aaron Judge controversy after his game-tying home run, debating the "look" he gave the camera: a clutch alpha move (BT) or a sign of no class (caller Ralph)? Sal is so convinced by the Yankees' momentum that he declares the series locked up, while also lamenting a scheduling conflict for a potential Game 5! Plus, the guys get into their weekly Three Random Questions segment: Question 1: How long would it take to eat a full bowl of unbuttered popcorn (in baseball innings)? Question 2: How far could they get in the 9-9-9 Challenge (9 hot dogs, 9 beers in 9 innings)? Question 3: Who slept more during the game: Jazz Chisholm (yawning) or John Smoltz (monotone commentary)?
I recently asked myself, "Do I really know how to access the power God makes available to covenant keepers?" Pres. Nelson expressed the need for this knowledge but I don't think I ever let it sink in. Then I had an experience that left me so desperate for help and healing that my only option was to access God's promised power in my life. It is a bit vulnerable for me to share but the Spirit urged me on. I truly hope you will gain insights that will help you experience healing you never thought possible because that is exactly what happened to me. Prize Greed and the Abandonment of Barnard Guest: Eric Jay Dolin Charles Barnard offered the British castaways a humanitarian deal: rescue them in exchange for salvaging the Isabella. This accord was shattered when HMS Nancy, commanded by Lieutenant William Peter D'Aranda, arrived. D'Aranda, seeking personal fame, immediately disregarded the agreement, prioritizing personal financial gain through the prize system, which was widely viewed as "semi-piracy." D'Aranda seized the Nanina as a prize and declared the Americans prisoners of war. Crucially, D'Aranda callously abandoned Barnard and four others (including three British) who were ashore hunting food for the entire group. Marooned for 534 days, Barnard's survival hinged on the help of his dog, Cent, who was vital for hunting powerful, four-tusked wild boars.
In this powerful episode, we dig into the heartbreaking story of Logan Federico — and the shocking failures in South Carolina's criminal justice system that helped create it. With 70 charges and 25 felony convictions, Alexander Dickey should have been behind bars. Instead, a system of repeat suspended sentences and political cronyism kept him free, leading to devastating consequences. We break down how South Carolina's legislature-controlled judicial appointments have created one of the nation's most lenient environments for violent offenders, why “Republicans” are appointing liberal judges, and how big law firms profit from this revolving door of justice. We'll also look at the explosive aftermath of a judge's $1.5 million Edisto Island home being destroyed — and the media's rush to paint it as a “MAGA attack.” Coming up at 8:00, you'll hear directly from Logan Federico's father, whose testimony before Congress has gripped the nation. This is a story about corruption, heartbreak, and why South Carolina's justice system needs reform now.
At fourteen, Rhonda Britten watched her father murder her mother and then himself. Shattered by trauma, she spiraled into alcoholism, three DUIs, and three suicide attempts before realizing she had to find another way to live. Out of her brokenness, she created the Wheel of Fear — a model that helps people uncover their hidden fears and transform them into freedom. In this conversation, Rhonda shares how fear is as smart, emotional, and spiritual as you are — and how to break free from its grip.
