The Kingdom of God in the Midst of Kingdoms" 다니엘 (Daniel) 2:36-47 [새번역/ESV] 36 이것이 그 꿈인데, 우리가 그것을 풀이하여 임금님께 말씀드리겠습니다. “This was the dream. Now we will tell the king its interpretation. You, O king, the king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, and the might, and the glory, 임금님은 바로 그 금으로 된 머리이십니다. and into whose hand he has given, wherever they dwell, the children of man, the beasts of the field, and the birds of the heavens, making you rule over them all—you are the head of gold. Another kingdom inferior to you shall arise after you, and yet a third kingdom of bronze, which shall rule over all the earth. And there shall be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron, because iron breaks to pieces and shatters all things. And like iron that crushes, it shall break and crush all these. And as you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter's clay and partly of iron, it shall be a divided kingdom, but some of the firmness of iron shall be in it, just as you saw iron mixed with the soft clay. And as the toes of the feet were partly iron and partly clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly brittle. As you saw the iron mixed with soft clay, so they will mix with one another in marriage, but they will not hold together, just as iron does not mix with clay. And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever, 이 꿈은 그대로 이루어질 것이고, 이 해몽도 틀림없습니다." just as you saw that a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. A great God has made known to the king what shall be after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.” 46 느부갓네살 왕이 엎드려서 다니엘에게 절하고, 예물과 향품을 그에게 주도록 명령을 내렸다. Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face and paid homage to Daniel, and commanded that an offering and incense be offered up to him. The king answered and said to Daniel, “Truly, your God is God of gods and Lord of kings, and a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery.”

Join God's kingdom by believing in Jesus.2. Be humbled by the example of Nebuchadnezzar and recognize that your “kingdom” is not for your glory, but God's.3. Find hope and comfort in the truth that God's kingdom will come and His Will will be done, even when life looks its darkest.GO DEEPERA Brief Guide to Apocalyptic ProphecyBooks like Ezekiel, Daniel, and Revelation are filled with weird symbols and visions. The authors reveal divine truths through imagery that invites us to pay attention to several layers. Remember this:1. Focus on the historical context. The first layer is always the message the author wanted the immediate audience to grasp.2. Next study the symbols and imagery as they are used throughout the Bible. The meaning of these symbols remains consistent throughout the Bible. 3. The next layer is to understand what these passages teach us about God. And in particular, how these prophecies are fulfilled in Jesus. 4. The final layer asks how these prophecies might be fulfilled again today or in the future.Be Careful:1. Don't lose the big picture of the battle between good and evil and God's ultimate victory over evil.2. Avoid over-interpreting every detail; instead, focus on the prophetic themes of hope and the establishment of God's kingdom. 3. Do not interpret symbolic language literally. The authors describe complex ideas in terms that would have been understandable to the original audience. 4. Resist the temptation to get carried away by elaborate schemes that assign a specific modern meaning to every symbol. When we read these books we take the authors at their word when they explain what they hope to tell us. Ezekiel is clear in chapter 1 verse 1: “I saw visions of God.” John is clear in Revelations 1:1 “The revelation of Jesus.”

The Old Testament book of Daniel is filled with accounts of courage, faith, and moments where God reveals incredible glimpses into the future. Daniel helps us understand the sovereignty of God while we are surrounded by a culture detached from God. This week, Michael Bayne moves into chapter 2 as we discover how to respond when faced with what seems like an impossible challenge. Text: Daniel 2:1-19 ESV Speaker: Michael Bayne

Text: Daniel 9:1-19It is easy when reading stories about great Old Testament heroes to hold them in such high regard that we think we could never measure up. However, the stories are not so much about the greatness of the characters involved as they are about the greatness of God. The same God that was working and moving in Daniel's day is still working and moving today. He is looking and searching for those today who are willing to serve Him and walk in faith no matter the cost. If you want to experience God in an extraordinary way in your own life, we pray that you will take the time to listen to this message! Sermon Notes Discussion Guide
Text: Daniel 6:25-28Where is God? What's going on? Why is this happening? What good can come from this? All of these questions, and more, often fill our hearts and minds when difficult situations arise in life. However, God's Word gives us clear answers to these questions. In fact, the book of Daniel reminds us that the True and Living God of Heaven is in complete control, working in every situation to accomplish His divine purposes in the world. If you are currently asking any of the questions listed above, we hope you will listen to this message to be encouraged and strengthened today. Sermon Notes Discussion Guide
Text: Daniel 5:1-31There are many things that can cause us fear – snakes, spiders, flying, germs, certain social situations, etc. These fears can often be overcome and worked through because they usually represent minor things with minor risks in the grand scheme of life. However, in Daniel 5, we see a powerful and sobering illustration of a fear that awaits all who refuse to humble themselves, repent of their sins, and live for Jesus. Though many dismiss it and ignore it, there is clearly a time to be afraid. But through God's Word, He shows us how we can have victory of this fear and live in peace and victory today. Text: Daniel 4:19-37What do you do when you've done wrong? We all fall short and stumble along the way, and when we do, we are tempted to hide, deny, excuse, and ignore the sin that we have committed. However, the Bible shows us that what we do with our sin will significantly impact our relationship with the Lord and with others. If you are an imperfect person who needs God's grace, this message is for you. We hope that you will listen, be encouraged, be set free, and walk forward in the victory that is found only in Jesus.
