Pastor Andy Cass Finish what you start, both in life and faith. Pastor Andy encourages us to "look up and live up," emphasizing that baptism is just the beginning of the journey, and the goal is to be a church that perseveres. Through stories and scripture from Colossians 3 and Hebrews 12:1, the challenge is clear: fix your eyes on Jesus and run the race with endurance, trusting you are more capable than you think. TEXT: Colossians 3:12, Colossians 3:16-17, Hebrews 12:1 NOTES: "You are more capable than you think."
Pastor Andy Cass Pastor dives into Colossians 3 and explores the theme of thankfulness, reminding us to "look up and live up" as God's chosen people. Through scripture, stories, and practical applications, we are encouraged to embrace gratitude, even in life's challenges, and to turn back in thanks to move forward. TEXT: Colossians 3:12, Colossians 3:15, Genesis 12:2-3, Genesis 18:18, Genesis 22:17-18, Genesis 26:4, Luke 17:11-17 NOTES: Truth: You are blessed, highly favored, loved, and seen by God. BIG IDEA: Being thankful is more than just a thought; it's about turning back in gratitude so that you can move forward. The 'what' you have in your hands should never replace the 'who' gave it to you. There is power in the practice of thankfulness: See it, say it, share it. It's never too late to say thank you.
What drives you? What makes you pursue a particular career or education? Our Ambitions drive us down particular paths before we ever really know what ambition is. In this message Pastor Fikre Prince shares from Colossians 3, that after we have begun a journey with Christ our ambitions and desires should be conformed to His ambitions and desires. And this Ambition will be a source of peace and not discouragement.Text: Colossians 3:1-17Big Idea: God's work changes our ambition. Key Question: How do we embrace our new ambition?1. Recognize our spiritual position. (vv. 1-4)2. Put off worldly ambition. (vv. 5-11)3. Put on godly ambition. (vv. 12-17)
Pastor Andy Cass Delve into Colossians 3, exploring themes of humility and humiliation with a surprising twist: hummus. It has restorative properties for your sanity." Definition of Humility: "Greek- humble opinion of one's self, a deep sense of one's littleness, modesty. To lower oneself to raise the other up." Humble doesn't mean broken, humble doesn't mean unable, worthless, or not good enough. 4 Key ingredients to Kingdom Like Humility: a. Gives blessings rather than repayment b. Submits to authority and wisdom c. Considers others better than oneself d. Blends in rather than seeking attention

Pastor Andy Cass Explore the transformative power of kindness. Through personal anecdotes and practical applications, Andy challenges listeners to embrace intentional acts of kindness as a daily spiritual practice, emphasizing how it can break shame and reflect God's love in a complex world. TEXT: Colossians 3:1-4,12; Romans 2:4; 2 Samuel 9:1, 7-8,11; Titus 3:4-6; Galatians 5:22 NOTES: -Kindness is meant to Lead you -Kindness has the ability to break shame, for the giver and the recipient. -Random acts of kindness are cool, but intentional acts of kindness are the true work of the kingdom. -Kindness was never meant to be practiced in a perfect, sanitary petri dish, but rather in a dirty, ever-changing, and inconvenient world. -The effects of Kindness are eternal -Kindness is something we are meant to practice. It's never meant to be put on the shelf as a trophy, past achievement, fond memory, or pat on the back. -Kindness will cost you Mother Teresa: "Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless." Henri Nouwen: "Kindness is the language we all understand. Even the blind can see it and the deaf can hear it." St. Francis of Assisi: "Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take with you nothing that you have received... but only what you have given: a full heart enriched by honest service, love, sacrifice, and courage."

Through personal anecdotes, biblical insights, and practical applications, he illustrates how embracing God's compassion can transform our lives and relationships, urging us to let go of anger and resentment to fully live out our purpose in Christ. TEXT: Colossians 3:1-4, 12; Matthew 18:21-35; Lamentations 3:22-23; Romans 12:1 NOTES: "Compassion is never passive; it's always an active heart-to-hand act of worship" A.W. Tozer: "Mercy is not something God has, but something God is. His mercy is everlasting, and it calls us to reflect His compassionate heart in our actions toward others." C.S. Lewis: "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." "God's mercy is meant to be a mirror, his compassion is our calling." God chooses us not because we're perfect, but because He loves us 3. As God's chosen people, we choose to love others into His Kingdom BIG IDEA: As God's chosen people, we choose to love others into His holy kingdom. "Jesus' definition of holiness is not moral perfection but confession. Allowing God to see you" - John Staton "We're free to be loved for who we are, but yet loved into who we are not yet." - John Marc Comer "THIS IS WHO I AM: CHOSEN, HOLY, LOVED" "God loves the underdog!" "What people can't see, God does, his vision is perfect!" "Love is not a moment, not an expectation, no ill motive, but just a fact."

Mind and Emotion // Desire driven by feeling Lust/Covet // Desire for more Greed // Desire to Keep "Able to flourish with the most exuberant, lush, beautiful, life-giving fruits. When the heart is cultivated, good desires grow...We will grow whatever we water in our gardens." -AJ Swoboda

Pastor Andy Cass At Echo, we engage in profound weekly surrender prayer. Throughout this message series, our goal is to dissect the surrender prayer line by line and even word by word, aiming to provide greater clarity and understanding of the declarations we make. TEXT: Colossians 1:13-14; Luke 15:4-6; Ephesians 2:8; 1 John 1:9; Romans 6:22; Genesis 37-42 NOTES: Four Simple Statements, Four Definitive Declarations: 1. I accept the rescue = God is seeking 2.
