The conversations you have with yourself and others inside your head. The ones you are comfortable having with your friends but would never want to have at Grandma's Thanksgiving dinner table.

This episode I talk to my homie Lacey, who is married to Cory LaVallee, of Dot Dot Dot Podcast, talk about our float trips, our time in Asia, and how terrible we are at knowing the populations of pretty much anywhere in the world. Music is courtesy of Ben de la Cour, who is incredible. Take care of each other, and be good or be good at it.
In this episode I discuss the finer sides of dating up and coming white rappers, NYC, Arizona living, and the ups and downs of working for a major Italian chain, both in Springfield, MO and Time Square.
In this mini-episode my homeboy Uli and I discuss our thoughts on watching "28 Days Later" just minutes prior, how local breweries are still getting beer to customers, and what his old man's take on the whole Corona Virus thing would have likely been. He also compares me to a post-apocalyptic scavenger, which might be tested in a few months.
I met an awesome lady while I was in Ft. Knox for a military school. We were in the class and she quickly became a hero to us by offering to DD for us while we explored Louisville. I also learned she was a drill sergeant prior to the new Army MOS we were in school to obtain. Female drill sergeants aren't unheard of, though there are far fewer than their male counterparts. She is really short in stature, which makes it even more challenging for a female, but ol' Mash em' up Marsha gives no shits about being a foot shorter than some stinky 18 year old nerd from Michigan. She's also a marathoner and has a southern accent like melted butter, likely because she hails form the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in West "by god" Virginia. As always, please subscribe and share if you like what you hear. Tell your friends, sisters, mail carriers, and tax attorneys. Be good or be good at it.
My very good homeboy, Cory Lavallee, was a guest some time last year but I got really drunk and it wasn't a good interview (shocker!). So we redid it while I was in Ft. Knox for an army school. Cory is one of the best dudes I've ever met in my life, and I love his whole family. Like, in a "Charles in Charge" way, not a "Dateline" way. He has a great wife, who will be a future guest, named Lacey. He's in the US Air Force and has stories for days. Oh yeah, he used to be in a touring band. Also, he lived with past guest Greg Dixon, which kind of write the jokes themselves. Without further ado.... Be good or be good at it.
This is essentially my comeback episode. My homeboy Uli was very cordial an let me talk to him about all sorts of stuff, including his very large.... personality. You couldn't ask for a more loyal buddy this side of the Bering Straight. We also talk to our bartender friend, "Diesel," aka "Hoops," about how to talk to your local bartender/server. It's fantastic. Plus you creeps might learn something. I love that there are somehow people listening even in the months where I don't post anything. I have a lot of really great episodes on deck. I think we are even going to do some shirts and stickers. Be good or be good at it.
This is my cousin's husband, Johnny Ochetti, who is a Navy vet, a third generation Italian immigrant, tattoo collector, car guy, and overall intelligent dude. I have enjoyed getting to know him a lot over the last few weeks and I cannot stress how appreciative I am for him sitting down with me. Take care of yourselves and each other. Be good or be good at it.
Wowza! her IG is @jesstheprequel and her podcast is PILF (podcasts i'd like to fuck). She's amazing and hilarious. She's self-reliant, sex forward, and intelligent. Her podcast is available everywhere podcasts are sold. Also: Ben de la Cour. The man, the myth, the legend.
I'm loving these two. They are amazing and lovely. We talked about books, Fleetwood Mac, Hunter S. Thompson, and everything in between.
Adam and I had an awesome conversation about American-Canadian relations, universal healthcare, and Walmart. I also got progressively drunker during the episode. Tune in to hear me sing along with Ben de la Cour's "Evelyn" at the end of the show.
I interviewed my boy Darrell tonight. We talked about life, love, and loss. We shared the memories of a good friend. I also learned of the death of a childhood friend during the interview. It was a slightly emotional ride for this episode. But I can't thank Darrell enough. Also. Stephanie Cameron, Kristen Chandler, and Britt Bunch... You are loved and missed.
Alright, alright, alright. This week's guest is my very good friend and Americana singer/songwriter extraordinaire, Becky Warren and I sat down in January in Nashville for a great interview. She talks about her two albums, her time in The Great Unknowns, her time as an Army wife, and life on the road. She also sings two songs off her "War Surplus" album, "It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time" and "Call Me Sometime." Mr. Ben De la Cour joined us about halfway through the interview and added some insight and comedic relief. You can find her amazing music here Here And here Don't forget to check out Ben De la Cour's music here And please don't forget my boy Uli's podcast, which can be found here Take care of yourselves and each other. Be good or be good at it.
This singer/songwriter is a true bad ass, hailing from the state of Louisiana, though he now resides in Nashville. He is also an Army vet, and the only LA National Guard troop to be shot during Hurricane Katrina. You MIGHT want to check out this kick ass interview. Disclaimer: I was NOT sober at all. You can hear it as I'm slurring my words and telling Chris how great he is over and over. I'm surprised I didn't do the scene from "Wayne's World" where they tell Alice Cooper they're not worthy. Good grief. Big things are coming up on this show. I'm really excited where this is going in 2019. Strap in and get ready, babies! Please subscribe, rate, and like the facebook page. And tell your damn friends, dammit! You may find Chris here Here And here As always... check out my boy Uli's podcast here Take care of yourselves and each other. Be good or be good at it. Love you guys.
You guys. I can't even tell you damn exciting this week's episode is. My man man in Cancun is THE man when it comes to positivity, creativity, and motivation. I can't say enough good things about Jay Kali, aka the Strength Architect. This is one of the greatest conversations I've had in a long with anyone. He pushes everyone he comes into contact with to be better and do better, for a multitude of reasons. One of the best things he says in this interview is that taking care of ourselves through nutrition, hydration, sleep, learning, and fitness is just like on an airplane when you're instructed to put your oxygen mask on before you help others. Damn! I mean, you can't help anyone else if you're fighting to breathe. I left this conversation motivated as hell to get back on track, even after not succeeding on my list in January. It truly was a fantastic reminder that I didn't fail one month, but rather I was set up for success for the next eleven months. Oh and did I mention he's an Amazon bestselling author? I fucking love this dude and I know you will too. You can find JK here Here Here And here Also, don't forget to get out there and check out my boy Uli's podcast, The Real State Podcast, found here, on Spotify, iTunes, etc. It's a lot more structured than mine, and Uli tends to stay pretty sober for the interviews. Me? Not so much.
First episode with Chase's Corner. What we were talking about it here Here And here Take care of each other and yourselves. Be good or be good at it.
There is no introduction on this one, because nothing I could ever say would properly introduce my aunt. She's a bad ass in every sense of the word and I can't tell you how proud I am to be her kin. I am confident this will likely be your favorite episode, and some of you ladies will want to be her best friend. This will also probably be the first of several interviews with her because we only scratched the surface of her awesomeness. She is the best and I know you'll agree with her candidness and brutal honesty. Next time I'll talk less and listen more, I promise! Intro/Outro music by Ben de la Cour, which can be found here and here Take care of yourselves and each other. Be good or be good at it.
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT- Ben's song "Evelyn" is now the podcast's theme song. He graciously is allowing me to use his song during episodes, which is really awesome. This is Ben's interviews, with some cameos with Becky Warren and Chris Watts. He also played two songs off his new album, The High Cost of Living Strange. It was a great time and I hope to sit down with Ben again in the future. Oh, and he also kicked my ass in Trivial Pursuit. Great. You may find Ben here And here Take care of yourselves and each other. Be good or be good at it.
My main man from childhood, fellow Eve 6 fanatic, and natural redhead, Brian Davis and I sat down in December for a great discussion. Uli made a cameo with a great story about seeing Bad Religion in Mexico in the 90s. I have some SUPER exciting news next week!!!!!!!! I can't wait for next week's episode. Don't forget to check out my boy's Uli's podcast, The Real State Podcast, everywhere they may be found. His show is a lot like mine, except good. Take care of yourselves and each other. Be good or be good at it.
Since this episode was recorded, Tiffany has since sliced off the tip of one of her fingers. She's got a lot of luck, I guess. Ha! Also, I forgot to play Desert Island with her. Damn whiskey. Take care of yourselves and each other. Be good or be good at it.
One of my very good childhood friends, Greg Dixon, and I sat down over beers and copious amounts of bourbon to discuss the '90s, punk rock bands, and being friends for the majority of our lives. *warning: this is NOT safe for work or grandparents. Take care of yourselves and each other.
This episode is nerd heaven. If you're not into Star Wars, 80s cartoons, or comics, turn around now! This is one of the most fun interviews I've done to date, partially because I got to talk to Kevin about stuff we both love a lot, and because it was recorded in his man cave. Don't forget to check us out on Facebook. Please rate and share the podcast if you have the time. Also- check out The Real State Podcast with Uli and The PB&J Politics Podcast. You should also check out This Past Weekend with Theo Von, but only if you enjoy laughing and feeling better about your life. Thanks again for supporting the podcast. See you guys next week.
This week we talk with my friend Amy (last name withheld) about prison education and vocation programs, rescuing dogs, and making quilts. Amy has the most obscure desert island answers to date, which make for an even better interview. I also talk about a few things before the interview starts. Actually, I talk about several things. If you'd rather not listen to me yammer on, the interview begins at 17:19. If you do want to listen, I get into my upcoming plans for the holidays, a few of the podcasts I listen to right now, the holidays, unpacking, and how much the latest video game purchase I made was a bust. The organization Amy volunteers with is Missouri German Rescue, whose website may be found here. If you're looking to donate time or money, or want to adopt or foster a dog, PLEASE check them out. All dogs deserve homes and loving family. The two podcasts I mentioned are called PB&J: Politics with Brian and Jake available on iTunes and Spotify The Real State Podcast available on iTunes, Spotify, or here I love you guys. Thanks again for all the love and support. Any questions, comments, or suggestions may be left on the tip line. That number is (205) 402-8109, call or text. Be good to yourselves and others this week. Also, be good or be good at it.
I sat down with Chris at Mother's Brewing Company in Springfield, MO. We talked about everything from tattoos, beers, family, loss, military, and traveling the world. I love his insight into life, love, and the reality of it all. Find Chris and Mother's Brewing Co here Don't forget we are now on iTunes and Spotify, as well as right here on Libsyn. Please subscribe, follow us on Facebook, and share to the masses! Thank you!
My very best friend of my life. i also talk about some kinda personal stuff. Let me know what you think and hit me up on the tipline. The number is (205) 402-8109. I'm so excited for you folks to see what I have coming up. I honestly don't deserve friends that are so great.
This is the first episode of the podcast, even though it's being published after episodes 2 and 3. I was fortunate enough to interview Ryan, a tattoo artist from Springfield, MO, about fatherhood, nerd shit, and politics in 2018. Much to my dismay, I had to cut out almost all of the tattoo part due to recording software failure. There was an unbearable echo for the entire tattoo conversation, so I regrettably had to cut it. However, I will sit down with Ryan again and talk tattoos with him in a future episode. This episode took forever to edit due to so many technical issues, coupled with the fact I have no clue what I'm doing, but I'm happy it's finally being ready for your beautiful ears. Please excuse the editing, as this is the very first time I've done anything like this in my life. Ryan's contact information is IG: @inkbeard83 Facebook: here Tattoo shop: here Thank you so much for the support and encouragement I've received in the last few weeks. In the next several weeks, I've got some awesome guests: A trio of ladies, including my ex-wife, drinking wine and talking about immigration law, being a minority in the Midwest, and being women in "Trump's America." A survivor of physical and emotional abuse, employee for child services in Missouri, all around bad ass. A firefighter, bartender, and podcaster. This man is my podcasting sherpa. Two key people in the fight against homelessness in Missouri. A regional director of education for a correctional system. An activist in the fight for canine equality, advertising wizard, and long time friend. My best buddy for over 20 years, who is an exterminator, former rat tail wearer, and natural anxiety tonic enthusiast. If you have a question for any upcoming guest, bitches, gripes, or complaints, or just want to send some electronic mail, fire away. The address is itseemedlikeagoodideapodcast@gmail.com
Episode 3 was a very open and honest interview with a very good friend of mine, Evan Rogers. He spoke from the heart and soul about his stint in rehab, what led him there, and where he is now with his sobriety. We spoke a lot about the midterm elections, but technical issues forced me to cut that part out. Whomp. Whomp. Whomp. I also had to edit out a story he told about me that was so vile I was too embarrassed to put it out into the world. This interview really gets to the heart of LGBT equality, differences in staunch republicans and democrats, and the ability to recognize when you need help. I cannot thank Evan enough for his willingness to share his story and thoughts with all of you beautiful humans. I have a lot of really great guests coming up over the next several weeks, so check back often or subscribe. Thank you for your support. Take care. Be good or be good at it.
This episode features a great conversation with Tiffany Barnett, a close friend of mine for over twenty years. She owns Salon Lukka in Nixa, MO, is a philanthropist, a single mom, and can cut a mean high fade for men. We talked about finding success in random places, dating in your 30s, and using puppy dog Snapchat filters. As I learn and evolve at this podcasting stuff, the production and editing will improve. I cannot thank Tiffany enough for being my second guest/victim in this podcast endeavor. Salon Lukka may be found here. And here. And on IG, searchable by @salonlukka. If you have any comments, questions, bitches, gripes, complaints, or suggestions on anything covered, send them to itseemedlikeagoodideapodcast@gmail.com Thanks for listening!
