We're going full on virus infection mode for the Forward Flash episode this month. It was revealed in a previous episode that I have never seen the 2002 film 28 Days Later and Charles and Jai were horrified. So, I finally saw it and I loved it.Danny Boyle is just amazing and we found out so much behind the scenes and technical aspects to shooting this film. We list the many reasons we love Cillian, how this story unfolds, and the unexpected fashion we appreciated. Also, throughout the episode me and Jai tell Charles to start watching Peaky Blinders about 6 times.Off-topic rants include: what our zombie plans would be, the Olympics, Charles' mom fighting possums, and the state of the Oscars this year---Get BONUS episodes on 90s TV (Freaks & Geeks, My So Called Life, Felicity, Dawson's Creek, and more...) and to support the show, join the PATREON! www.patreon.com/fashiongrungeGIVE US A 5 STAR RATING & SUBSCRIBE!Hosts: Lauren @lauren_melanie & Jai @jai_stylefactory & Charles @charleshaslam Music by Den-Mate @imdenmateFollow Fashion Grunge Podcast Instagram @fashiongrungepodTwitter @fgrungepodLetterboxd Fashion Grunge PodcastTikTok @fashiongrungepod

Where do the Tennessee Titans stand ten days later after a gut-wrenching loss at home? Mike Herndon joins Zach Lyons and they discuss various topics surrounding this team and its future outlook. Can Tannehill, in year 10, do for Tennessee what Stafford did for the Rams in year 13? If a team traded for Tannehill, are they getting Jared Goff or Matt Stafford? What do WE want to see the Titans do this offseason? Is Mike Vrabel's stubborn offensive philosophy going to handcuff the team like Mike Zimmer did? All this and more on today's episode!

Now imagine that’s not the current state of news, but a fictional world where the rage monsters are fast-moving, zombie-like creatures. 28 Days Later is the non-zombie movie that reinvigorated the zombie genre that was so prevalent … Continue reading 28 Days Later →
Hour 1: Schopp and Bulldog take calls on how we're feeling approaching Championship Sunday without the Bills. How likely are the Bills to beat the Chiefs next season?
This episode was recorded at Cliff's studio, with all four of us present and correct. Ian and Cliff have worked together and separately in the industry for a long time - Ian's credits include Little Shop Of Horrors, Alien 3, Saving Private Ryan, War Horse, Fury and Dr Who. Cliff racks up an impressive listing on IMDb with Hellraiser (1987), Lair of the White Worm, Black Hawk Down, World War Z and 28 Days Later. It was a hefty chat that we split into two parts as it was so long, but also they divided into two clear conversations which lent themselves to being broken in two. We had a great time recording and producing this one and we hope you get a kick out of it too. It's not often Todd and I get to be in the same room when we record so getting to do this was a dream. --------------------------------------------- Check out the website for more info and full show notes: https://battleswithbitsofrubber.com/ Thanks as always for your time checking the stuff out. What goes bump in the night giving Kyle a fright? This week it's 28 Days Later (2002) directed by Danny Boyle. This British zombie film has a man awaken from a coma and seek safety alongside a ragtag bunch of survivors. How good is Kyle's British accent? What would make Mat abandon his family? Would you follow a radio broadcast to a safe location during the apocalypse? Crack open a cold, delicious Pepsi as the Boo Boys break it all down.

Guest Page Fast links to Items: Richard – David Fast links to Bios: David – Bruce Support The Other Side of Midnight! “How do you talk to an ET?” That is our question for tonight — given that, after our first “radio test transmissions” to ‘Oumuamua last Saturday night, we received a MULTITUDE of unexpected “signals” in return– Ranging from the sudden appearance of actual aerial VEHICLES … flashing in and out of space directly over our transmitting antenna in northern Arizona, to strange, coded audio “clicks” … heard (and recorded) on multiple sets of hand-held “walkie-talkie” radios both in Arizona … and over a thousand miles away, in Southern Canada! And, confounding the problem of “identifying the Source” … most of these came well before (like, HOURS …) any normal “speed-of-light return transmissions” expected from ‘Oumuamua itself. Welcome to Dev Game Club, where this week we complete our series on Resident Evil 4. We talk about various set pieces at the end, a bit about ammo types and balance, and of course, our takeaways. Dev Game Club looks at classic video games and plays through them over several episodes, providing commentary. Sections played: Finished the game! Issues covered: having more cutscenes and quotable lines, set piece stuff that reminds you of other series, tying back to the series, parallels with Metal Gear Solid, being campy vs leaning into camp, new enemy types, whether an enemy was skippable, feeling resource poor, weapon choices, conserving resources as much as you can, losing resources to being unable to line up enemies, making ammo more powerful via upgrades, killing parasites with flash grenades, whether resource constraints are balanced for all players dynamically, leaning more heavily on QTEs, replacing mechanics with QTEs, forcing exposition, camera authoring, uninteresting skill challenges, Ashley driving and the rail-shooting, being more action-y than survival horror, wish fulfillment/power fantasy, where you can kill enemies, Krauser and backstory, leaning on prior character knowledge, feeling like the Saddler battle doesn't pay off, not having the right location, the eye in the mouth, the series going darker, replaying the jetski scene again and again, controller problems, planned obsolescence, the rainbow proposition, sturdier controllers, credits story time, ending with a bit of a whimper, Mike we hardly knew ya, Brett's Book Recommendations, the commitment to design tension, the pacing of combat, linear macro design with arena sections, agency in level flow, the AI states and how they work everywhere, the great balancing across the whole game, balancing a game you can't change, pushing your game further but not too far, adding the right things and leaving the right things behind. Games, people, and influences mentioned or discussed: Metal Gear Solid, Konami, Capcom, Die Hard (obliquely), Killer 7, Grasshopper Interactive, Suda51, Fatal Frame, Hideo Kojima, Dark Souls, 28 Days Later, Gamecube, PS4, Nintendo, Deus Ex, Sylvia Moreno-Garcia, Mexican Gothic, Julian Gollop, X-COM, Soren Johnson, Civilization III, Control, Kirk Hamilton, Aaron Evers, Mark Garcia. It's been awhile but we couldn't let spooky season come and go without finding something spooky to watch. Somehow neither of us had seen Danny Boyle's ‘28 Days Later' (2007), so we strapped in and watched a movie about deserted city streets, a world gone quiet, and a quickly spreading virus. Yeesh. Luckily, it's quite a compelling movie, shot very purposely on the same DV video tape we both grew up making movies with in the early 2000's. The effect is eerie, creating a lo-fi, grungy atmosphere that promises blood and bloodshot eyes around every corner. Somehow the movies still relishes in the joyful, peaceful moments where humans get to enjoy their humanity again…at least until other humans who have seemingly lost theirs threaten that peace. It's a good one. Happy Halloween, y'all. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/framesandfools/message

Week 3 of spooky season continues! This week, co-host Dillon wanted to revisit 28 Days Later, ANOTHER movie from 2002 (this was not planned). 28 Days Later helped breathe fresh air into a fatigued zombie genre and is beloved by all in the House of Cinema crew. Some things we discussed...- fast zombies vs slow zombies, which are scarier? - what do you grab first in an abandoned supermarket?- does the movie age well?- ranking classic horror movie creaturesand so much more!!Follow us on social media!IG: @house.of.cinema_TikTok: @cinemanationLetterboxdJoe- @jaragon23Olivia- @itsoliviajordanDillon- @dillon_av
Happy Scary-tober everybody! This month the manatees checked out 28 Days Later, directed by Danny Boyle and starring Cillian Murphy and Naomie Harris! This one was a patreon poll, and honestly we're pretty glad it turned out the way it did. The movie that arguably kicked off the zombie resurgence of the early 2000s, 28 Days Later isn't actually a zombie movie according to its creators, but it's close enough that it gets lumped in with them quite a bit. Is that fair? Float along with the manatees as they wrestle with this question for about two seconds, then spend a lot longer ranting about zombie survival plans, pandemics, proper coma patient dressing etiquette, and revealing that they know almost nothing about European geography. If there were a rage vaccine, would people even take it? What's the difference between an apartment and a flat? How would The Mariner deal with running out of water? Listen for the answers to all these questions and more! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/matinee-manatees/support
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE! We have come all the way around here at Not Your Father's Movies, with the third dad-father getting his birthday episode. And, as a surprise to everybody, Mike has chosen ZOMBIES as his birthday topic! Jesse had movies he remembers with his dad, Vito had the beauty of choreography, and Mike has chosen those brain eating beasts that defy logic but also get under our skin: the Undead! We are principally discussing 28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead, and Train to Busan, although we avoid major spoilers for all of those, and we branch out into a larger discussion in general. Are these Zombie movies DAD movies? What is so interesting and engaging about them? What's the philosophy, besides watching the undead get wrecked? Listen to us answer all this and more! In the thirty-eighth episode of Season 4 (The Horror, The Horror) Kyle is joined by script supervisor Katy Baldwin and cinematographer Josh Carter to discuss the ever present commentary on virus, rage, and societal collapse from the inside and beyond in Alex Garland and Danny Boyle's revitalization of the zombie genre 28 Days Later.
We're continuing down the spooky road of Spooky-tober (not Spooktober, John, that's a dumb name) with Danny Boyle's zombie hit 28 Days Later! Anthony mentioned in last week's show how he felt about running zombies and 28 Days Later. Will he change his tune? And can he pronounce Cillian Murphy correctly? In Equities:A Tech and Growth sell-off drags the S&P lower. As the third quarter grinds to a close, we are roughly 4% off the all time high reached in early September. So for all the clamor and discord of impending doom and the end of days, still not technically in a correction. What's happening? A host of anxieties building to moody sentiment and a rapid, incremental climb in treasury yields. To recap:A more hawkish tone from the Fed (which is still extremely dove-ish in historical terms)Contagion risk from Evergrande and the Chinese real estate sector it representsDebt ceiling angstSensational chatter of oil and gas shortages, with pictures from the UK showing scenes from 28 Days Later at the petrol stationAll of that compounded by ongoing bottlenecks in the Global Supply ChainWhere did this lead 10 year yields?Current rate of 1.472 is above the 200 day moving average (1.40) and the 50 day moving average (1.32)But we are still below the ~panic button level of 1.70And what does this mean in terms of sector rotation within equities?A bullish, cyclical trend in traditional energy (XLE, ERX)A further drubbing for Cathie's funds and growth-y future things (ARKK, XBI)In Crypto:Not to leave Crypto behind, Bitcoin is showing a promising technical pattern of consolidation around both the 200-day and 50-day moving average that telegraphs more upside...IF historical patterns hold. EPISODE 151 - CILLIAN MURPHY - Actor Team Deakins catches up with actor Cillian Murphy (INCEPTION, THE DARK KNIGHT, 28 DAYS LATER) and the result is a great conversation about many subjects including acting , working in the business and somehow balancing your life. We explore the idea of how living a normal life between projects is so important and using that in the work. We talk about many of his films and his approach to creating the character. He shares his experiences working with Neil Jordan, Ken Loach and Christopher Nolan. We learn that mastering an accent is “like going to a gym for your mouth”, we also talk about his relationship with the camera department and what he looks for in a director. We touch on the differences of shooting a film, acting on stage and working on a TV series. Definitely not an episode to miss!
