What initially looked like a burglary gone wrong turned out to be something much darker. Investigators uncovered a story of greed, betrayal, and a hidden past that stunned even those closest to the doctor. Blayne shares her experience reporting the case across Florida, Texas, New Mexico, and Albania — where she spoke to a man who was convicted in connection to the crime. She also shares her conversation with Detective Lara Scarpatti, one of the first officers on the scene, about the unusual behavior she noticed that night. In part one of this story last week, we learned about Utah millionaire Franklin Bradshaw, who over the years had gained both a stupendous fortune and a strained relationship with some of his family—in particular with his youngest and wildest daughter, Frances. Frances had for years been pressuring and manipulating her mom, Berenice, to steer some of the family fortune her way, and whenever Frank got in the way of that, Frances would be furious. At the end of last week's episode, we met Frances's own young family, two boys, Marc and Larry, that she was strangely insistent on keeping apart. Marc was the favored son, allowed to stay at home. Frances told him his brother Larry had been sent to a mental institution, but he was in fact just staying with relatives. This was a family of strange pressures and manipulations that would ultimately lead to Franklin Bradshaw being shot dead. The state of Texas is set to execute 58-year-old Robert Roberson next week, but his attorneys have filed a last minute request for a new trial based on a recent Dateline podcast. Roberson would be the first person to ever be put to death for shaken baby syndrome, following the 2002 death of his 2 year old daughter Nikki. The science he was convicted on is no longer regarded and is considered “junk science.” That information alone brought lawmakers from both sides of the aisle to intervene last year, to stay his execution, but that stay is up and Roberson time is up. Investigators initially believed her stalker and potential killer was her high school ex-boyfriend. But they soon realized they'd been led astray, and the killer was in front of them all along: Kristil's husband, Daniel Krug. Lester and Josh discuss how Kristil helped solve her own murder through meticulous logging and how police finally zeroed in on Dan. Later, Josh shares a podcast-exclusive clip from his interview with Kristil's cousin, who's now an anti-stalking advocate. This week, in Tequesta, Florida, an absolutely insane, and horrific pair of murders is interrupted by a neighbor, who also gets attacked. The murders are incredibly horrendous, with knives, a machete, and is finished off, with an attempt to eat the faces off of the victims. It's a crazy act, by a young man, who seems to have gone crazy, claiming superpowers, and that he is chased by demons, and is half dog, among some even stranger beliefs!!
