This is the audio file shared with me from Nigel in Dunmore, Alberta, Canada. Thank you for reaching out, Nigel. This is his message: Hello, and Happy New Year from Alberta, I am an avid radio hobbyist here in western Canada, and last month I heard your program on 1610 AM from here in Alberta. I understand it is broadcast over CHHA in Toronto? I found the program very interesting, and quite different from anything on the radio out here. Details of my reception are below, and a brief recording is attached. I'd be most grateful if you'd drop me a line confirming I was hearing your program broadcast over CHHA. Time/Date: 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm EST on 20 December 2020 Frequency: 1610 AM Receiver: HF+Discovery with 250 metre longwire antenna Details: I heard the announcer open the program by saying : ""Hi, you are listening to Mediation Station, and this is your host....". I also heard a reference to a Facebook page. The signal was a bit weaker when I made this recording at the beginning of the show, but the signal did get stronger later. Thanks very much for taking the time to help me out, and best wishes for happiness in the New Year and good health to all your staff and their families in these challenging times. Best regards, Nigel

At times like this, with our world as we understand it experiencing profound and everlasting change, conversations continue to happen, and in fact need to happen, regarding parental responsibilities, about decisions with scheduling and a range of connected matters. What happens with us as we try to navigate through these times, that are for the most part unexpected. Unexpecteds include the crisis we experience when we lose a loved one, when we become aware of living with a medical condition, or experiencing a pandemic as Covid-19. It is whatever causes our sense of normalcy to be challenged. Laura Tarcea joined me for conversation for this show. Mediation Station's conversation on Sunday June 9, 2019 titled "How Can Patients Navigate Conflict?" Visiting us are Rita Czarny and Patricia Lospinuso. At the time, Rita and Patricia were Early Resolution Specialists with the Ontario Patient Ombudsman. The Patient Ombudsman is a fairness advocate for Ontario's health sector organizations, defined as public hospitals, long-term care homes or home and community care services coordinated by LHINs (including services previously coordinated by CCACs). Its role is to listen, understand and resolve people's conflicts without bias. Being able to express one's own dissatisfaction can also help prevent the same situation from happening again, which is good for everyone and can lead to positive changes in the health system. This is the Mediation Station show on Sunday September 8, 2019 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. EST titled "Improvisational Mediation: Yes, and ...". It was a presentation of a mediation in the form of improvisation that uses the concept of "to build upon". This is such a powerful and effective way to facilitate mediation. As well, it is a very productive and responsive way of assisting individuals experiencing "conflict" to help shift their mindset from a "Yes, but..." to a mindset of "Yes, and...." It so well promotes the effectiveness of adaptability in working along with the individuals in conflict. Mediation Station's show on Sunday October 27, 2019 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. EST titled "Perspectives and Overview of Youth Challenges as to HERE and THERE: Looking Deeper and Local". This is the second show that builds upon the initial show from this past Sunday. Visiting for conversation are Deqa Nur Mohamoud Shabel and Safia Ahmed. The challenges of forced migration on families and on the individuals within those families weighs heavily on those who are its backbone, mothers. As parents, many are dealing with matters from a multi-dimensional perspective of what they left behind THERE, and what they experience HERE. Trying to have the sense of safety is constantly at odds with a sense of not belonging or connecting. These impact many of the children and youth of these families and has a profound impact on both the community itself and society overall. Call to share your perspective @ 416 785 0680. Mediation Station's show on Sunday October 20, 2019 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. EST titled "Perspectives and Overview of Youth Challenges Here and There: Root Causes, Preventatives and Solutions". This is the first of two shows. Visiting for conversation is Istar Ahmed, Youth and Social Policy Advocate. The lived experiences of people who migrate and look to their "new" home as a place to establish a positive and productive beginning and future is the ideal. At times, especially as to generational impacts, the youth of migrating families can become disengaged and feel a lack of belonging and as a result can venture onto unhealthy relationships with others who may not necessarily have their best interests at heart. Our conversation this week will open up the discussion as to what is happening regarding the above experience.
