I met Alec while we were both in a production of “Into the Woods”. He was playing Cinderella’s Prince, The Wolf, and Florinda - one of Cinderella’s stepsisters. I was so taken with his talent and skillful execution of that incredibly difficult track, and not at all surprised to later learn that his creative skill crosses boundaries of genre and form. Alec is an Elementary Music Educator, Performer in both Opera and Musical theatre, and an outspoken creative. In our conversation, Alec talks through Education post Corona, how schools are making education accessible to all students, being creative in the midst of shutdown, and how white folks can take small meaningful steps to do better for our black, brown, and POC colleagues, friends, and neighbors.
