The Europinion Football Show

After what seems like quite a while, the international break comes to a close and the guys find themselves in Switzerland on this episode. Marcus and Jack set off to explore one of the oldest footballing countries in the world and what used to be an international footballing giant. Listen as this week they discuss, what Swiss football is really like, how they have produced on of the founding fathers of modern football and what players are being unearthed this week.

With the international break in full-flow, this gave Marcus and Jack the perfect chance to catch up with what is happening in the U21 Euro2023 qualifiers. On this episode they discuss 'Is u21 football important?', players that have stood out in the qualifying rounds, their all time U21 team both worldwide and for England. If you find yourself waiting for league football to come back, this will certainly help get you through it.

This week, Marcus and Jack find themselves in country probably best known for their famously passionate rivalries, next destination for premier league footballers and an international dark horse. Turkey is the country of choice this week, listen in as they discuss Turkish players in the English Premier League, history behind the rivalries, the players that they have found and if they can break the deadlock of the fantasy football scores. 

This episode, listen to Jack and Marcus discuss the footballing rollercoaster that is Ukrainian football. From the history of the league, to Ukrainian players to come to England, why half of the Ukrainian league is Brazillian to the players that they have found and how they are getting on in their fantasy football league.

The home of mythical creatures, deep-fried anythings and The Old Firm Derby. Marcus and Jack tackle Scotland this week where they test their Scottish football trivia, explore some of the rich history of Scottish football and see what un-earthed talent there is to find this week...

On this episode, Jack and Marcus take a trip across Europe to explore what Russian football has to offer. Listen to them discuss why Russian football isn't as good as it should be, why there are such intense rivalries, Russian Trivia and the players that they have found. 

England, France, Spain, Germany, these are all countries that we have visited the second divisions of. Now it is time to take a look at the remaining country of the 'Top 5' - Italy, where we focus on their Second Division, Serie B. We are without Joel this week, which means this episode is just Marcus and Jack. Test your knowledge in their Italian football trivia, see who would get into your all time Italy XI, why there is no place for brutes in the game anymore and see what they managed to find in the Italian second division.

After a very impressive Euro 2020 campaign, the guys had to see how the new-look Denmark developed their talent and what teams to look out for. The international break has come to an end and with this, Marcus, Jack and Joel are now in Portugal. Portugal have recently replaced France in becoming one of the top 5 leagues in Europe - their job this week is to explore as to why this is, they look at some of the amazing talent that Portugal has produced and how they have done this. With the international break, this gave us the opportunity to go outside of Europe, where Marcus, Jack and Joel wanted to see what Japan had to offer. Who else better to have as a FIRST SPECIAL GUEST, Asian football expert and writer - Charlotte Patterson. Producing works such as her website "lost in translation", Charlotte really helps us get in to the heart of Japanese Football. Following on from the championship, the guys have remained in England where they are looking further down the footballing pyramid. They are going to be seeing how League One compares to the championship, unearthing any talent that there is on offer and cracking down on referees. Is League One just a home for "once great" premier league players? We will let you be the judge....

It has taken 14 episodes, but the guys have finally found themselves back in 'old blighty', where they look at what is arguably "the best league in the world. Every week, the championship throws the fans something different and unexpected, every team has a chance of getting into the Elite tier of World football and it is always all to play for.

With the new season very much in full-flow across Europe, Marcus, Jack and Joel had to visit France to see what talent there is in the second division. As the group stages are coming to an end Marcus, Jack and Joel take a look at the stand out young players of the Euro 2020 Group stages so far. This week Jack, Joel and Marcus set out on their journey to find football's next best stars in Europe and to educate themselves on the European football leagues. To start their journey, they have found themselves in Belgium, where they are on the hunt to find the best young talent in the Jupiler Pro League in order to put them in to the ‘TEFS FC' XI. They will also be competing against each other in their ‘Fantasy Football' league, where every week they will pick the best talent they have seen and will monitor how they have got on in the following week.
