S2E1: Pandemic and the Powerful Woman

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 20, 2020 12:29

Guess who's back, Back again. Okay horrible rap references aside, I'm back. I took the long hiatus because, well, you know, global pandemic etc etc.  I've decided to change directions for a bit, and instead of interviewing guests, I'm reading submissions from women about their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.  This first episode is about motherhood. It wasn't planned that way, but I think it's important to shed light on the time of birth, new things, and hope.  Jacqui and Samantha are two ladies who I've known personally for many years now. They're both chipper and upbeat individuals, and they both work in a serving type of career path. Thank you again for these two for baring your soul and sending me your perspectives and experiences.  Want to have your experience included? Send me a DM on @seensisterhood on instagram. Anything under 500 words is amazing.

Is anyone else lacking motivation? I bet I'm not alone. In true COVID-19 fashion, I took way longer than normal to edit and post this podcast episode, but sisters, its a GOOD ONE. My good friend Jackie Naccache (@jncrtv) and I talk about judgment, internalized vs externalized pressure, and why everyone needs to stop posting about getting ready for bathing suit season.  Jackie has a heart of friggin gold and is such a giver. She's got so much good insight and wisdom, and has really utilized her past experiences to help others in a positive way. I'm so grateful for her friendship and the truth she spoke on this episode.

Better late than never, right? I finally uploaded my episode where I chatted with Andrea Mondoux (@balanceblissblog) about body image, gym vs at home exercise, raising girls, and of course, self-improvement. Andrea has been a friend of mine for a few years now, and what is great about her is that she truly is authentic. She is unapologetic about who she is, her priorities, and how much she truly loves helping other women. She's also going to be launching her own podcast, finish writing her book, all the while working and parenting. She's an OG badass and I am so happy to know her.

Happy whatever day of quarantine we are on folks! Today was my first chance to speak with @kundaliniwithkasia via @squadcast : please excuse the poor sound quality (particularly on my end!). There's no intro, no fancy music, just real talk with a fair big of crummy sound quality. That's what happens when the whole world is at home using wifi apparently. And yes, those are my children screaming in the background. It is what it is. After more than a few technical difficulties, we ended up diving in to kundalini yoga, breath work and meditation, women in yoga vs men in yoga, and a good heaping dose of self-care. Kasia has so much knowledge and wisdom that she was the perfect choice for today's episode- a bright light in an otherwise very dark week for the world. This episode is real, raw, authentic, and I am so dang proud that it is my 10th episode! Please enjoy and absolutely follow Kasia both on IG (@kundaliniwithkasia) and Facebook where she will be live streaming music, mediation, and yoga at 8pm (EST) NIGHTLY (Kundalini Yoga with Kasia- Seva Akal Kaur) as well as find her at www.kasiayoga.com
