Multi-hyphenate wellness entrepreneur and podcast host, Kasia's journey is anything but linear. In her past life Kasia led product development and operations at companies like Microsoft, TEDx, and AI startups in Silicon Valley but after suffering crippling burn-out which resulted in full-body eczema & inflammation, Kasia found herself questioning her definition of “success”. Though her life seemed perfect on paper, her heart had been left behind. Fully embracing the Buddhist philosophy of “beginner's mind” she took the leap to leave her 11 year successful corporate career and start from scratch; redefining her own sense of self and launching an ever evolving journey to balance her hustle, Type-A, “Yang” energy with that of flowy, inner knowing “Yin” vibes. Today Kasia is the Host of the Nourish Podcast and is building a (still stealth) company in the space of spirituality exploration and community, intersecting the best of her love for spiritual exploration with technology. When not working on her passions, she can be found filling her cup hiking, doing yoga, or spending time with her family. https://www.sangha.ai https://www.linkedin.com/in/kkrzoska/https://nourish.buzzsprout.com/ Help support the TrueLife podcast 1.) Transforming research ideas into meaningful impact is no small feat. It often requires the knowledge and experience of individuals from across disciplines and institutions. Collaborators, a new Microsoft Research podcast series, explores the relationships—both expected and unexpected—behind the projects, products, and services being pursued and delivered by researchers at Microsoft and the diverse range of people they're teaming up with. In this inaugural episode, host Dr. Gretchen Huizinga talks with GitHub Staff Product Manager Kasia Sitkiewicz and Protocol Labs Research Scientist Petar Maymounkov about how their collaboration on Gov4git, a governance tool for decentralized, open-source cooperation, is helping to lay the foundation for a future in which everyone can collaborate more efficiently, transparently, and easily and in the ways that meet the unique desires and needs of their respective communities. They discuss the governance features that make Gov4git more suitable for serving a broader range of communities than today's public blockchains and the open-source book project allowing them to test the potential and limitations of the work.https://www.microsoft.com/research

Domination and submission are natural and important parts of human interaction. By understanding and mastering these states, we can improve our communication skills and achieve success in our personal and professional lives. However, each state has both a negative and positive (whether manipulative in the negative dominant, or inferior in the negative submissive). In most scenarios, a healthy conversation allows both speakers to fluidly trade dom/sub states. But not in an interview (e.g. job interview or guest/host podcast interview).Hear the tip I gave to one of my podcast clients who's a first-time podcast host.Episode inspired by Kasia Urbaniak's work. David is back with the conclusion of the Devil and the history attached to him! Covering other cultures, names, looks, and breakdowns of the info, the Devil gets fleshed out and examined in great detail. We pick back up with various forms of Evil in other cultures through history. Then many of the countless names of this entity are dissected and examined, paying careful attention to the origins of each. The several iterations of looks are discussed after that. And finally the episode concludes with analysis of the research and how it has influenced cultures through the ages. What was the actual purpose of this being? How has it evolved? And what conclusions can you draw from the information? David ends with opinion based on the facts, and encourages you to take a thoughtful examination of them for yourself. It's the finish of one of the biggest episodes in Blurry Photos history, one that hopefully teaches you something new and gives you perspective you never knew you were missing! Negotiation expert Prof. Dr. Kasia Jagodzinska shares her valuable insights on negotiation strategies and the importance of avoiding the ego trap in negotiations. She discusses the concept of "ego-tiations" and notes that negotiations should never be influenced by ego. Join us for an interview with the founder of the cult favorite brand, Buffalo Organics , Kasia Cummings. Kasia is the founder and CEO of Buffalo Gal Organics, an organic skincare + wellness brand from Buffalo NY. She is a medicinal chemist and graduated from SUNY Buffalo “too many years ago to count ☺️.” In her own words, “I started out in working for a local chemistry research lab and specialized anti cancer research, after many years in the industry I fell down the holistic and organic rabbit hole and the rest they would say, is herstory. After learning about the crazy amount of toxic chemicals in traditional skincare, I decided to start my own brand, Buffalo Gal Organics in 2010 because our area did not have the quality, organic and plant based alternatives that I was seeking for myself and my young daughters. Buffalo Gal was born out of a need in the industry and a personal need to help the skincare sensitivities of my friends and family. Fast forward to today, the small dream of helping others clean up their skincare act has lead to an amazing community of customers (who many of which are now are friends), astute practitioners that work from our cooperative Beauty Boutique in Williamsville, to national brand partners that carry our skincare and organic teas all over the world. Personally, I'm a bit of a spiritual gal and through the years have become a certified Holistic Health Coach, Certified Crystal and chakra energy healer, Reiki Master and intuitive tarot reader.” --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/skincareanarchy/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/skincareanarchy/support

Taylor Phinney was one of the brightest stars of American road racing in the 2010s. The son of professional cycling luminaries, he was a world champion by age 17 and became the first American to win Paris-Roubaix the following year as a U23. A year later, he won the race again for good measure. During his 10-year career on the WorldTour, Taylor raced for Trek-Livestrong, BMC, and EF Education First. When he announced his retirement in 2019 at age 29, it shook the sport, but according to Taylor, it had been a long time coming. Earlier this week, Payson sat down with Taylor in his art studio in Spain to talk about how his life has changed since he left racing. They talk about how he became more involved with his art in the final year of his WorldTour career and how cycling was no longer bringing him fulfillment. He explains why he's chosen to stay in the cycling mecca of Girona even though he isn't racing anymore, and how he's grown to prefer aspects of Europe that he used to find challenging. They discuss what it's like to still be in the realm of WorldTour racing as he supports his partner, Kasia, who rides for Canyon–SRAM, and how professional women's racing is so different from men's. They also talk about music, art, starting fires, and his obsession with handlebars. Instagram: @theadventurestache

Dzisiaj na kanale DALEJ | Martyna Wojciechowska rozmowa z Katarzyną Dacyszyn. Modelka, projektantka, aktywistka i ekspertka do spraw stalkingu w Polsce. Zaczęła długą i bolesną walkę o siebie i o swoje zdrowie - fizyczne i psychiczne. To właśnie ona doprowadziła do zmiany prawa i została ekspertką do spraw stalkingu w Polsce.

In Threatening Dystopias: The Global Politics of Climate Change Adaptation in Bangladesh (Cornell UP, 2021), Kasia Paprocki challenges two well-worn assumptions about climate change and its relationship with the political economy of development and agriculture, in Bangladesh, which helps shed light on how climate change becomes a politically contested category, in countries across the Global South. The first, is that climate change is simply a contemporary phenomenon without a longer history embedded in the ecology, economics, politics, and social relations in the region. Second, that climate change is the driver of the increased vulnerability of large swaths of the Bangladeshi population, like the community she closely follows in Khulna, in the southwestern part of the country. Through fine-grained ethnographic and archival detail, Paprocki engages with developers, policy makers, scientists, farmers, and rural migrants to show how Bangladeshi and global elites ignore the history of landscape transformation and its attendant conflicts in advancing certain ‘climate adaptation' agendas, which have dire consequences for the most marginalized. She looks at how groups craft economic narratives and strategies that redistribute power and resources away from peasant communities. Although these groups claim that increased production of export commodities will reframe the threat of climate change into an opportunity for economic development and growth, the reality is not so simple. For the country's rural poor, these promises ring hollow. As development dispossesses the poor from agrarian livelihoods, outmigration from peasant communities leads to precarious existences in urban centers. And a vision of development in which urbanization and export-led growth are both desirable and inevitable is not one the land and its people can sustain. Threatening Dystopias shows how a powerful rural movement, although hampered by an all-consuming climate emergency, is seeking climate justice in Bangladesh.
