A true-crime podcast with episodes uploaded every other Sunday! In each episode, our host Kaitlyn dives into some of the little-known real crime cases that deserve your attention. The True Crime Club intends to bring listeners through the investigation and details of the case in hopes that someone listening might be able to help solve it. While not exclusive to, the podcast tends to focus on missing person cases. Kaitlyn will explore some of the most puzzling cases that you probably haven't heard before.
In September of 1988, a man discovered the body of a woman who was thought to be between the ages of 22-35. An autopsy was performed, confirming that she was in fact a woman, but were unable to provide the cause of death as she was too decomposed. She was unrecognizable, but a sketch was produced and shown around. With a lack of leads, quickly the case went cold. It wasn’t reopened until 2015 when issues with the techniques used to gather DNA at the time came to light. A reexamination of her case, and body revealed that their Jane Doe had in fact been born a male. Gender reassignment and hormone therapy were very rare at the time, which made this case even more peculiar. Not long after, the case was picked up by the DNA Doe Project, hoping to identify her through genetic testing. If you have any information on the case or identity of Julie Doe, you are encouraged to contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 352-343-9529.✩✩✩Follow us on Instagram @thetruecrimeclub & follow our host Kaitlyn on Instagram @kait.lynlarson.With questions you can DM our instagram page OR email us at thetruecrimeclubpodcast@gmail.comThanks for listening!!SOURCES: ↓⋆https://www.namus.gov/UnidentifiedPersons/Case#/6030?nav ⋆2752umfl.html ⋆https://peoplepill.com/people/julie-doe/⋆https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2015/11/19/1451910/--Julie-Doe-Trans-woman-likely-murdered-in-1988-believed-to-be-cis-for-27-years ⋆https://www.democraticunderground.com/10027370313 ⋆https://www.gaystarnews.com/article/transgender-julie-doe-task-force/ ⋆Julie-doe ⋆http://transdoetaskforce.org/the-incredible-postmortem-journey-of-transgender-julie-doe/ ⋆https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/alcz0l/who_was_transgender_julie_doe/ ⋆https://www.lcso.org/coldcase/cases/case2/ ⋆Transgender-Julie-doe ⋆https://www.facebook.com/IdentifyJulieDoe/ ⋆https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2019/12/self-taught-sleuths-trying-solve-trans-murders/603976/ ⋆https://unidentified.wikia.org/wiki/Julie_Doe ⋆https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julie_Doe

** NEW UPLOAD SCHEDULE** The True Crime Club has moved to Sundays! Check back every other Sunday for an episode by The True Crime Club.On August 11th, 1992, another summer day was in full swing for the Pickett girls and their mother, Kay. That warm day they took a trip to the grocery store to pick up a few things. While there, Tracy, the youngest of the Pickett sisters, ran into one of her friends who she hadn’t seen what felt like forever for the 14-year-old. The two giddy girls chatted amongst themselves for a while, eventually approaching Kay to ask if Tracy could spend the night at the other girl’s house. Tracy’s mother didn’t see how she could say no as the girls hadn’t seen each other in a while, and she figured that they couldn’t get into that much trouble since the other girl’s parents would be supervising them. The events of the night of August 11th and the following morning of the 12th are not reported on clearly, leaving a lot to speculation, but at some point the next morning around 10 am, Tracy left in a black van with someone who had been at the friend’s house that night. She was supposed to return to her home to retrieve a change of clothes and head back to the friend’s house. However, this isn’t what happened; after Tracy left that morning, she hasn’t been seen since, and to this day, 28 years later, what happened to Tracy has yet to be revealed. If you know anything regarding Tracy Pickett’s case, you are encouraged to contact the Joplin Police Department at 417-623-3131.WHERE CAN YOU FIND US?INSTAGRAM: @thetruecrimeclubWEBSITE: thetruecrimeclub.comSOURCES:https://www.namus.gov/MissingPersons/Case#/6527?navhttps://charleyproject.org/case/tracy-a-picketthttps://unidentified.wikia.org/wiki/Tracy_Picketthttps://www.websleuths.com/forums/threads/mo-tracy-pickett-14-webb-city-12-aug-1992.111608/page-2https://www.ark.org/offender-search/index.php?do:getById=1&id=5433492&x=2ca83d9e-9253-4ba9-a566-5ff49637952dhttps://www.newspapers.com/image/207850811/?terms=%22tracy%20pickett%22&match=1https://charleyross.wordpress.com/tag/tracy-pickett/https://www.joplinmo.org/DocumentCenter/View/5563/Tracy-Pickett-Release-8-8-16?bidId=https://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-10th-circuit/1877108.htmlhttps://www.joplinglobe.com/news/local_news/family-still-struggles-with-joplin-girls-disappearance-24-years-ago/article_d4996c7b-1b75-58f5-b1e0-c1fcad549e22.htmlhttps://www.ozarksfirst.com/local-news/police-continue-their-26-year-long-search-for-tracy-pickett/Tracy Pickett - YouTubewww.youtube.com › watchhttps://www.joplinglobe.com/news/local_ne
On February 4th, 1980, 17-year-old Barbara Davis’s badly beaten body was found in the alley on South 19th Street in Milwaukee, WI. Barbara lived with friends and was last seen leaving a Nightclub on February 3rd around 10 pm. While her case went cold rather quickly, there was one promising lead. Hello everyone! I am here today to talk to you guys about some changes that will happen to The Anti-Murder Murder Club in the coming months. As most of you know, I tend to struggle to get episodes up on the correct days, and around the times I would like. Ideally, I want to have an episode up by 1pm every Friday, but that hasn’t been working out for me the best since I’ve started. I feel like some of the content I put out can be rushed and meet my standards. I think rushing through the case just to get it out on time is not fair to you guys as listeners, and it is absolutely not fair to the victims that I discuss on this podcast. I’m doing this show because I want to help spread awareness of the little known cases, which means taking my time and releasing them on time. For the next two months, I plan on making several considerable changes to this podcast that I am very excited about. Starting this coming week, I will still be releasing a case every Friday, but these will be mini-cases, and this schedule will stay in place until the end of this year. Cutting back on researching cases will give me the time I need to do several other changes I have planned. I will provide an update every Friday when I upload, and I really can’t wait to make this show even better. I love this podcast so much, but unfortunately, I don’t always have the time to do everything with work and school. Hopefully, this should immensely help me, and I would love for you to all stick around for the ride. Thanks for all of the support thus far; hang in there, and stay tuned for the big relaunch in 2021!!I hope to see you all again this Friday, but until then remember to stay safe out there and lock your doors.Bye guys xx
In the early morning hours of September 14th, 1970, 19-year-old Alexis Duggan disappeared from her home in Tampa, Florida, never to be seen again. A story spun by her then-husband Alvin Duggan made it seem as if she had run away, leaving all of her belongings and ten-month-old daughter behind. However, it is quite evident that there is much more to this story. Very little is available in Alexis's case.If you have information on Alexis Duggan's case, you can contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8703.You can follow us on Instagram @theantimmclub. SHOW NOTES:On Thursday, November 4th, 1982, in Long Island, New York, Edward Nowak made a grisly discovery. In a dumpster behind his workplace, he found the severely decomposed body of a young woman. Originally thought to be the body of a young black woman between the ages of 14 and 18, later sources changed this and listed her race as unknown and her age as more broad between 16 and 30. She was found wearing a striped zip-up sweater, a bra, and three necklaces. All other articles of clothing were too badly decomposed to be identified. She was estimated to have died 2-4 months before her body was found in the dumpster. She had only been recently moved to this location before being discovered. On Saturday, October 5th, 1996, in Sioux City, Iowa, Marie Harker had plans to meet up with her 34-year-old son Kenneth. She and him often spoke as her son had suffered from a traumatic brain injury in the years prior. A severe car accident had left the man disabled, unable to keep a full-time job, and having to relearn how to walk and talk again. While Kenny, which he was often called, had been working for several years to regain his independence, he had only recently moved out and lived on his own. He had worked hard for his freedom, so Marie tried not to worry when he was a no show to their meeting. She convinced herself that he must've forgotten and was probably with friends. Little did Marie know, Kenny's white 1977 Chevrolet Suburban had just been found by one of the Plymouth County Officers and marked as abandoned. The vehicle was located on K-42, with its doors open, the tires were flat, and it was out of gas. In the days following, Marie tried several times to contact her son, doing so on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. While she knew deep down, something wasn't right; she didn't want to intrude on her son, who had worked so diligently to take care of himself again. She decided to try again tomorrow, but unbeknownst to her at that moment, Kenneth's truck was being towed away to the spot where it was found abandoned. This is the case of Kenneth Harker. If you know anything regarding the case of Kenneth Harker, you can contact the Sioux City Police Department at 712-279-6365.Follow us on Instagram @theantimmclub.Happy Halloween, Everyone xxSOURCES:https://www.namus.gov/MissingPersons/Case#/4491?navhttps://iowacoldcases.org/case-summaries/kenneth-harker/http://charleyproject.org/case/kenneth-william-harkerhttp://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1461dmia.htmlInterview quotes via: Kenneth Harker | Iowa Cold Cases. https://iowacoldcases.org/case-summaries/kenneth-harker/
It was a fall night in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when 17-year-old Beverly Sharpman approached her mother Nettie in the kitchen of their family home. Nettie was beginning to make some tea when her daughter informed her that there was something on her mind, but by the time Nettie had finished making her tea, it seemed that Babe, which her mother often called her, had changed her mind about confiding in her mom. Beverly retired to bed, and Nettie didn’t press her daughter on the issue. The following morning September 11th, 1947, everything began as usual for the small family. Beverly was scheduled to register for her senior year at Overbrook High School, which she did, returning around 11:30 am. She spoke to her mother, briefly mentioning that she planned to get some rest before her scheduled shift as a part-time clerk at a manufacturing plant. After that, Beverly went to her room, and her mother left their home at 4207 Viola street for the day. Nothing seemed amiss until 7:30 that night when a telegram arrived at the house from the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Station. The telegram allegedly from Beverly said, “Got married. Leaving town. Will not be back. Don’t worry. Babe.”September 11th, 1947 would be the last confirmed day that anyone would ever hear or see Beverly again. If you have any information about the case of Beverly Sharpman you can contact the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-685-3252. On August 9th, 1970, in Ogunquit, Maine, a bright and sunny Sunday had begun. The Olenchuk family was going about their day to day life in the bustling summer town. Thirteen-year-old Mary had attended church earlier that day, and with temperatures in the '80s, the family decided to spend the rest of the day at Little Beach, which was just a short distance away from their summer home. At around 4 pm, Mary decided to leave her mother, Ruth, and her two older sisters Nancy and Jane at the beach. Barefooted, She hopped on her black Hercules English racing bike and rode the short distance to her home. She was seen again at 5:00, this time by an older woman on the Lookout Hotel's third floor. She first spotted the red-headed girl talking to a man in a faded maroon car, possibly a 1967 Chevrolet with scratches on the hood. The man was white of average height and build and looked to be in his 30s. The woman looked away for a short while, and when she returned her gaze, Mary was now in the vehicle with the man. She appeared to be smiling and laughing. The stranger then backed his car from the road into the hotel's entryway and drove off in the other direction. This is the last time anyone would ever see 13-year-old Mary alive. If you have any information about the death of Mary Olenchuk, please contact the Maine State Police at 1-800-228-0857.Be sure to follow us on Instagram @theantimmclub.SOURCES:The Bangor Daily News from August 9th, 1970-November 18, 2000 provided by Newspapers.comhttps://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/local/2000/10/19/gen-peter-olenchuk-munitions-expert-dies/eeea6303-4eaa-4bef-891d-5e39833786e1/https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/local/1998/08/29/obituaries/b22db7a4-e4be-4f25-a7fb-aecb2b952dfc/https://murderpedia.org/male.P/p/pierce-charles.htmhttps://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/27foaq/maines_oldest_cold_case_the_murder_of_13_year_old/https://downeast.com/features/unsolved-crimes-closure/http://oakhillresearch.blogspot.com/2016/08/raymond-trimmer-jr-and-sr.htmlhttps://www.maine.gov/tools/whatsnew/index.php?topic=state_police_unsolved&id=10804&v=article2018pierce-charles.htmhttps://counteverymystery.blogspot.com/2020/05/murder-of-judith-e-hand.htmlhttps://www.tapatalk.com/groups/missing87975/unsolved-child-murder-mary-catherine-olenchuk-t2319.htmlhttps://www.websleuths.com/forums/threads/me-mary-catherine-olenchuk-13-ogunquit-9-aug-1970.295367/http://justiceforunsolvedinmaine.blogspot.com/2015/03/red-rover-by-alex-ferguson.html
Welcome to the first-ever minisode by the Anti-Murder Murder Club! I plan to release these on Mondays and Friday every once and a while instead of a full episode. These mini-episodes consist of the same reporting but on cases with little to no media coverage. The first minisode is on the missing person case of Lloyd Farrar. In 1978, 60-year-old Lloyd was last seen leaving a restaurant on May 24th. He hasn’t been seen since.Smaller cases deserve the same amount of attention as the larger one, and I hope to do that with the mini-episodes!Anyone with information on Lloyd Farrar’s disappearance can contact the Los Angeles Police Department at 213-485-3261.Follow us on Instagram @theantimmclub.And hopefully, I will see you all back here next week for another murder club meeting but until then, remember if you see something, say something, you just might save a life.Bye guys xxSOURCES:https://www.namus.gov/MissingPersons/Case#/41633/details?navhttp://www.doenetwork.org/cases/729dmca.htmlhttps://oag.ca.gov/missing/person/lloyd-farrarhttps://www.newspapers.com/image/568259911/?terms=lloyd%2BFarrarhttp://charleyproject.org/case/lloyd-farrar384372979
On July 27th, 1988, temperatures were reaching 102 degrees in Phoenix, Arizona. 13-year-old Myron Traylor had just returned from his paper route. Myron had begun working the paper route to help save money to give to his church for their upcoming Disney trip. Leaving their 16th street house and Nancy Lane, Myron and his mother Debbie, began the half-mile walk north to his grandparents’ house. He carried a plastic bag full of dirty clothes as he walked, which he planned on washing once he got there. Myron was also excited to talk with his younger brother on the phone, staying with a relative in California. As they walked, Myron told his mother that he was thirsty and wanted to go to the nearby OK Fish N Chips to buy a soda. Debbie agreed and told him to catch up once he was done. Debbie continued through an empty field as Myron headed toward the restaurant. Located on 16th Street and Southern Avenue, OK Fish N Chips was very quiet for a Wednesday evening. Myron didn’t see any other customers as he approached. He ordered a wild-cherry cola from worker Lena Watt and immediately began gulping down. Lena said, “You must be thirsty,” to which Myron replied by ordering another. With his second drink in hand, Myron started walking back in the direction he came. Lena waved goodbye to him, to which he wiggled his fingers back in response.
