I had the pleasure of talking with actor, director, and producer Faith Boles and these are some of the takeaways from our conversation. First complacency can ruin your career, if you find yourself being nudged to make a change you probably should, second, if you do have fear about doing something new or different, ask yourself how can I transmute that fear into positive motivating energy and what is something positive that can happen if you do it, and last we sometimes can project finality on to pivoting or changing and that can be very limiting to our creativity. Originally from Savannah, GA, Faith Boles is an Orlando FL based actor, director and producer that has been in the theater industry for the past 20 years. She has been a recipient of 2022 Orlando Critics Pick for Best Actor, Broadway World awards and nominations, as well as the ASCAP Irving Berlin Scholarship. Faith can be seen on stage at various performance venues at Walt Disney World and theaters in the Orlando area. He lost his oldest stepson Alex to suicide on August 7, 2016. In this episode I'm sharing the 5 reasons you need to have an email list - seriously this is one of my favorite topics because without an email list, I wouldn't be where I am today. But before we dive in, I want to share a personal experience from last week. Last week we were in Orlando Florida for a volleyball tournament, and I rarely checked social media. It was so nice to disconnect from the noise and distractions of social media. So nice in fact, it's been hard for me to log back on now that we're back home. During this social media hiatus, I sold a few podcourses and connected with some potential guests. I only posted on social media one time. Whenever I step away from the constant scroll and swipe,  it allows me to truly immerse myself in the world of email marketing, creating meaningful connections and nurturing relationships with my subscribers. Zahra met these two awesome humans at a school board meeting in their city, following the school board's decision to cancel an afterschool Drag event, hosted through the Gender Sexuality Alliance, GSA, (in the episode you'll hear Zahra refer to it as the “Gay-Straight Alliance”, an outdated name used when she was in high school). Zai and Nichole talk to us a bit about their experiences throughout their high school experience. Plus, they share with us more of what is currently going on in the schoolboard, and in the state of Florida at large. Zai and Nichole talk to us a bit about Moms for Liberty, and their influence on this issue. We finish up by hearing a bit about their hopes and dreams for the next chapter in their lives.
