I am excited to start a series of podcasts with the WWP's of the Week that have been featured on @waterwisepro on Instagram! At the beginning of the year I asked all of you to have a "Break-Out Year" and the way I am trying to do that is by collaborating more with other like-minded professionals and those that I can learn from and continue on the positive path that I try to maintain. Robert has a lot of great experiences and advice that he shares with us and I feel that you can all relate, learn from and will agree with!
This episode is me going through various Terms & Definitions starting with the letter C. Remember, when preparing for an operator exam, a lot of it is just knowing what certain terms mean and how they apply to water distribution or treatment.
It is important to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat, and to always take the various experiences we face as a lesson to learn from. I do not and have not taken a failure well, and 10-15 years ago I would not have taken this experience the same way. We have to remain poise through adversity, proud in defeat and keep moving forward. Understand that we won't always win and we won't always lose, but we will always have an opportunity to try again!
I brief review of Removal Methods for Suspended Solids using Granulated Media... Thanks for checking out the Podcast and please leave a review to let me know what is working for you and what's not so I can better serve you and get you ready for your operator exams!
Focusing your energy on creating a vision of what you want your life to look like will serve you well! Having a VISION, needs to be followed up by having GOALS, once these both are achieved it will create a clearer sense of what needs to be done. Align your goals with your actions and you will streamline the game plan to get to the finish line. Remember, if you are not living the life that you want to now, then how do you think you will live that life in the future if you are not doing anything to support those goals? Create a Vision, Make a Plan, Do Work, Try some new things & Find the Sweet Spot!!!

This episode is me going through Distribution Terms & Definitions starting with the letters A & B. I ask that you give me some feedback on the various episodes so that I know what is working for all of you. I thank you for listening and your honest criticism!
As we continue the conversation of Distribution System components, we will discuss, Water Storage Facilities & various Valves. There is much more to talk about but I have summed much of it up in a quick 20 minutes so that you can listen in on your way to work to get a little study session in. Remember, as we are studying we want to focus our time in our notes & books for about 15-20mins. at a time to help retain the info we are reviewing. Do this at least 4-6x's per day and you will be more than prepared to smash your state exams as well as apply the learned knowledge out in the field!
Distribution systems are the bloodline to our communities and we must know what are purpose is, how we design a system and how we begin to distribute our product to our customers. In this episode we talk about Purpose, Configurations, and what needs to be considered when choosing a style of water main and the various types that are available to us. Thanks again for joining me on this journey!!!

Episode-3 "Leveling-Up" is a rundown of how to prepare yourself for upcoming promotions and job opportunities during the recruitment process. I have had more job interviews than I can think of throughout my career and I obviously did not get all of them but they were all opportunities to learn more about myself and work on the things that are going to make myself more valuable & marketable to my organization and to others. Some people are great at work and do not know how to represent themselves in an interview to highlight their strengths, and others are great at speaking but lack the experiences to get the actual work done. Your goal needs to have both strengths and continue to Level-Up! Reminder, these are my opinions based on my experiences and they are to be taken as a positive word of advice to all of you that are trying to prepare yourself on getting to the next level in your career and/or landing your first gig in the industry.
The only way to Level-Up in your career is to Cert-Up! This is a brief rundown of how to get started with the Operator Certification Program in your state and how to prepare for your upcoming certification exam. Once you get started with the classes and the studying it is important to keep chipping away at your certs and furthering your knowledge in water. It is more likely that you will be successful if you are repetitiously studying and taking exams than to take a break in between, ESPECIALLY if you do not pass. Do not get discouraged, Keep Going! And do not think you should settle for a cert/license that is required for your position and not chase after the one that is required of your supervisor, you would only be shorting yourself a future opportunity or advancement! There is only one way to make a better living for yourself in this industry and that is to get your certs, education and some great experiences.... This ultimately makes you more valuable and your journey more fulfilling!
