Join Lisa and Laura for our series Names of God. In biblical times, names were of great importance—they conveyed a person's essence, history, nature, or character. As we explore the various names of God in the Old Testament, we gain insight into His character. With each name, we will learn a new attribute, deepening our understanding of and growing closer to God. In today's episode, we explore our third name, Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals. The word “rapha” often refers to physical healing in Scripture, but it has a more expansive meaning, too, involving the entire person. Jehovah Rapha doesn't just heal the body. He heals the mind and soul. In a world desperate for healing, this is an episode you do not want to miss. Grab your Bible and invite a friend to listen. We all need Jehovah Rapha! Open your Heart to our key Scripture. Exodus 15:26: If you will listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the LORD who heals you. Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode. Exodus 3:13–14: Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, ‘What is his name?' what shall I say to them?” God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” Psalm 22:14–15: I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted within my breast; my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue cleaves to my jaws; you lay me in the dust of death. Exodus 15:22–27 Romans 8:22: We know that all creation has been groaning with labor pains together until now; and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait for the adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. Romans 5:5: Hope does not disappoint us. Invite Him in with this episode's questions for reflection. Are you in the place between devastated hope and deliverance? Bring your heart to Jehovah Rapha and ask, what does He want to reveal and what He is longing to heal? Is it a physical illness? Sin? Trauma? Childhood wound? Unforgiveness? Show mentions. The Detroit Red Wings need help scoring, but we all know that Moritz Seider, Simon Edvinsson, and the Red Wings blue line desperately needs help defending as well. Tune in as we discuss some key candidates for Steve Yzerman to target in free agency or trade to help Detroit's defense alongside Seider, Edvinsson, Johansson, Chiarot & Co., including the Los Angeles Kings' Vladislav Gavrikov and the Buffalo Sabres' Bowen Byram - are they worth targeting over a Mitch Marner, Sam Bennett, or other forwards to help Dylan Larkin, Lucas Raymond, Alex DeBrincat, & the rest of Hockeytown's offense? What would they cost and how does the rising salary cap benefit Steve Yzerman and the Red Wings? (5:05) After that, an update on Marco Kasper, Lucas Raymond, Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, and the rest of the Detroit Red Wings at the IIHF World Championships (36:05) before jumping into NHL news, including a breakdown of the Leafs imploding as usual against Brad Marchand and the Panthers, thoughts on Matthews, Marner, Knies, and Tavares, as well as Stanley Cup Playoffs Conference Finals predictions as McDavid and the Oilers take on Rantanen and the Stars in the West, and Bobrovsky and the Panthers take on Svechnikov and the Hurricanes in the East (40:15). Finally, our 2025 NHL Draft Prospect Profile on Lynden Lakovic and whether he reminds Red Wings fans of Michael Rasmussen or Anthony Mantha (1:02:45). Amidst the chaos going on with the Toronto Maple Leafs (sorry to Steve Dangle), Detroit Red Wings fans are steeped in a somewhat connected debate: should Steve Yzerman go after Mitch Marner this offseason, or would Hockeytown be better off spending the big dollars elsewhere? Tune in as we give our analysis, compare Marner to options like Gavrikov and Knies in terms of how they'd help Dylan Larkin, Alex DeBrincat, Lucas Raymond, Moritz Seider, Simon Edvinsson & Co., & what he would make compared to the likes of Mikko Rantanen (4:45). Also, updates on Detroit Red Wings at the World Championships, as Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, Marco Kasper, Eduards Tralmaks, Lucas Raymond, Simon Edvinsson, and Erik Gustafsson roll on, as well as notes on Viking Gustafsson Nyberg and Maxime Comtois (27:30). Next, Stanley Cup Playoffs updates, as Brind'Amour's Hurricanes make easy work of Ovechkin and the Capitals, Connor McDavid and the Oilers move on again, the Dallas Stars beat the Jets in an emotional affair as Scheifele fights through tragedy, and the Leafs & Panthers are steeped in another hilariously dramatic series (35:50). Also, former Detroit Red Wings head coach is potentially joining Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks (47:40). Finally, our 2025 NHL Draft Prospect Profile on Justin Carbonneau of the QMJHL: how does he compare to Kasper, Danielson, and Brandsegg-Nygard, do the Red Wings need another player like him or should they swing for more upside, and does he fit the "Steve Yzerman mould"? (58:25) All of that & lots more before we take your questions and comments in our Overtime segment (1:09:45) - enjoy! In today's episode, we explore our second name, El Shaddai, which comes from two Hebrew words, “El,” the singular word for God, and Shaddai, meaning “Almighty” or “All-Sufficient.” Do you believe that God is your Sustainer and has the power to show up in impossible situations and work miracles? Or do you take matters into your own hands when it looks like God isn't coming through on His promises? Today's conversation is one of our favorites, and you are encouraged to grab a cold drink, your Bible, settle in, and receive the truth you desperately need to hear: God can do the impossible. Open your Heart to our key Scripture. Genesis 17:1: When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless." Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode. Genesis 12:1–2: Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.” Genesis 15:2–3: “O Lord God, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” And Abram said, “Behold, you have given me no offspring; and a slave born in my house will be my heir.” Genesis 15:4: “This man shall not be your heir; your own son shall be your heir.” Genesis 16 Genesis 17 Genesis 18:12–14: So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I have grown old, and my husband is old, shall I have pleasure?” The Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, and say, 'Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?' Is anything too hard for the Lord?” Genesis 18:15: But Sarah denied saying, “I did not laugh”; for she was afraid. And He said, “No, but you did laugh.” Genesis 22 Romans 4:18–21: In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations; as he had been told, “So shall your descendants be.” He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old, or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's womb. No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. Psalm 91:1–2: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” Invite Him in with this episode's questions for reflection. How is God calling you to trust Him as El Shaddai? Look at that area of life where He is asking you to trust Him and ask yourself whether there's a root of bitterness in your heart because you feel He is taking too long. Show mentions. The question that comes up every year: should Steve Yzerman trade the Detroit Red Wings' 1st round draft pick for more immediate help? Join Lisa and Laura as they wrap up their journey through Passionate Discipleship, a nine-week Bible study series. Deepen your faith this Easter season as we unpack Paul's wisdom to his closest friend, Timothy, reflecting on how we can apply it today. Grow in personal holiness, as we recognize the importance of our God-given mission to reach and raise the next generation. On today's final episode of the series, Lisa and Laura discuss Lesson 9, Talk 9, titled “Fighting the Good Fight.” Hear about the personal obstacles they face in running the race, as well as helpful tips to persevere when we feel like giving up. This is a must-listen for women learning to live as disciples of Christ! Open your Heart to our key Scripture. 2 Timothy 4:7–8: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day. Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode. 2 Timothy 1:5: I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you. 2 Timothy 1:6: For this reason I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is within you. 2 Timothy 1:7: For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:13–14: Follow the pattern of the sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus; guard the truth that has been entrusted to you by the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. 2 Timothy 2:1–2: You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 3:2–5,7: For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, inhuman, implacable, slanderers, profligates, fierce, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding the form of religion but denying the power of it. Who will listen to anybody and can never arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 4:3–4: For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths. Matthew 13:33: The Kingdom of heaven is like leaven which a woman took and hid three measures of meal, till it was all leavened. 2 Timothy 3:12,14–15: Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it. And how from childhood you have been acquainted with the Sacred Writings which are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Isaiah 40:41: But they who hope in the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Tune in as we're joined by Max Bultman of The Athletic Detroit (and Winged Wheel Podcast contributor) on this episode, opening by discussing the report that Todd McLellan, Steve Yzerman, and the Red Wings have moved on from goaltending coach Alex Westlund, and how this relates to Hockeytown's issues in net over the years: can new coaching help, or is the rotating group of Cam Talbot, Petr Mrazek, Alex Lyon, and others to blame? How does this affect Sebastian Cossa coming up (with Trey Augustine a ways away) (3:40)? Next, Max offers his thoughts on Steve Yzerman's biggest holes and offseason tasks to help the Red Wings roster: what support does Detroit need for Dylan Larkin, Patrick Kane, Lucas Raymond, Alex DeBrincat, and Marco Kasper at forward - like Mitch Marner or Nikolaj Ehlers? Do they need to prioritize a defenseman to help Moritz Seider and Simon Edvinsson - like Gavrikov? Can Nate Danielson, Carter Mazur, Axel Sandin Pellikka, Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, or others be the answer (9:35)? After that, a comprehensive NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs update, including Tom Wilson and Josh Anderson in a lively bench brawl between Washington and Montreal, the Leafs dominating Tkachuk's Senators, the Lightning and Panthers trading majors (and Cooper and Maurice exchanging banter) in the Battle of Florida, Connor Hellebuyck collapsing for the Winnipeg Jets, TNT not calling games in person, & plenty more (29:25). We then get into our 2025 NHL Draft Prospect Profile on Cameron Reid: can the Kitchener Rangers defenseman be of interest for the Red Wings, or is someone like Aitcheson or Smith for attractive for Steve Yzerman and Detroit, who will want more size (1:02:45)? All of that and plenty more before we take your questions and comments in our Overtime segment (1:12:20) - enjoy! The Lord has risen! Alleluia! Lisa and Laura have enjoyed the Lenten journey with you through Passionate Discipleship, a nine-week Bible study series. They've been unpacking Paul's wisdom to his closest friend, Timothy, reflecting on how we can apply it today. As we grow in personal holiness, now is the time to boldly step into our call as true disciples by reaching out to the next generation. In today's episode, get ready to be encouraged and cheered as we set out to put all we've learned into action. There's no greater, holier way to begin the Easter season! Open your Heart to our key Scripture. 2 Timothy 3:10–4:5 Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode. 2 Timothy 3:16–17: All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 1 Corinthians 10:20–21: No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be partners with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of the demons. 2 Timothy 4:2–4: Preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, and exhort, be unfailing in patience and in teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths. Invite Him in with this episode's questions for reflection. Root out idolatry in your life. Consider these idols and circle any you struggle with: looks, reputation, approval, sex, opinions, health, future, self-reliance, control, pleasure, sports, marriage, children, friends, clothes, politics, plans, weight, recognition, intellect, performance, independence, comfort, families. Take some time to journal whether you have something (an idol) absorbing your heart and imagination more than God. OR Based on 2 Timothy 3:10, pick a couple of the following questions that resonate with you. Is there an area of my life where what I say doesn't match what I do? Is my purpose in life—the thing that I am revealing is most important to me— the right purpose? Is it what God says matters most? And am I living in a way that makes it clear that this is what is most important to me? Am I continuing to grow in my faith or am I stagnant? Am I patient? Am I willing to love in radical and self-sacrificing ways? Even when it's inconvenient? Even with people who are on my nerves? Am I steadfast? Am I faithful in my relationships? Do I stick with things or do I quit when it gets difficult or bored? Am I resolute and unwavering? Show mentions. Seconds away from some small but maintained hope, but it fell apart for the Red Wings across two games in an instant... (00:00) Tune in as we start by discussing Detroit's heartbreaking loss to the St. Louis Blues as Cam Talbot and J.T. Compher could not hold off the late comeback, including a strong game from Binnington, Larkin, Seider, Kane, & Co. struggling, & more as Todd McLellan's squad's hopes are fading (5:35). We then discuss whether this is it for the Detroit Red Wings playoff hopes, barring another insane Lucas Raymond run like last season, what to make of this team, and a discussion on Steve Yzerman's offseason motivations whether or not the playoffs returned to Hockeytown (13:25). We continue the discussion with a hypothetical about whether adding defensemen to help Seider, Edvinsson, & Co. or forwards alongside DeBrincat and Raymond would be more beneficial (35:10) before getting into the big Detroit Red Wings pipeline news: Trey Augustine is returning to the Michigan State Spartans to play NCAA hockey for another season. What this means for the Grand Rapids Griffins, Sebastian Cossa, Gylander, Lyon, Talbot, Mrazek, & more (42:55). Next, NHL news including Alexander Ovechkin's goal chase and the new NHL TV deal with Rogers () before getting into our 2025 NHL Entry Draft Prospect Profile on Anton Frondell: can he challenge Misa, Hagens, Martone, & other top prospects in this class? Galatians 5:24: Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 2 Timothy 2:15: Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:16–17: Avoid such godless chatter, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, and their talk will eat its way like gangrene. James 3:6: And the tongue is a fire. The tongue is an unrighteous world among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the cycle of nature, and set on fire by hell. Sirach 27:4–7: When a sieve is shaken, the husks appear; so do people's faults when they speak. The furnace tests the potter's vessels; the test of a person is in conversation. The fruit of a tree shows the care it has had; so speech discloses the bent of a person's heart. Praise no one before he speaks, for it is then that people are tested. 2 Timothy 2:21: If anyone purifies himself from what is ignoble, then he will be a vessel for noble use, consecrated and useful to the master of the house, ready for any good work. Luke 6:45: Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 2 Timothy 2:22–25: So shun youthful passions and aim at righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call upon the Lord from a pure heart. Have nothing to do with stupid, senseless controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kindly to every one, an apt teacher, forbearing, correcting his opponents with gentleness. Invite Him in with this episode's questions for reflection. Take the time this week to think about and listen to the words that come out of your mouth. Identify your biggest pitfall (in silence ask the Holy Spirit to point this out). And then go to prayer and pray for the opposite virtue. Show mentions. Matthew Kelly pilgrimage Let's stay connected. Make this Lent the most fruitful Lent ever. Join Lisa and Laura as they explore Passionate Discipleship, a nine-week Lenten Bible study series. In these powerful episodes, they'll unpack Paul's wisdom to his closest friend, Timothy, and reflect on how we can apply it to our lives today. As we grow in personal holiness, we will boldly step into our call as true disciples by reaching out to the next generation and passing on all that we've learned. In today's episode, they discuss Lesson 3: Called to Make Disciples and explain what it means to pass on the baton of faith and “make” disciples. If you want to know what to pass on, what it will require, and why it matters, this episode is for you. Open your Heart to our key Scripture. 2 Timothy 2:2: And what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am sure that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me. Isaiah 53:3: He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief. Matthew 10:16: Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Matthew 10:17—18: Beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils, and flog you in their synagogues, and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear testimony before them and the Gentiles. 1 Samuel 7:12: Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Jesha'nah, and called its name Ebene'zer, for he said, “Hitherto the Lord has helped us.” 2 Corinthians 12:9: My power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Timothy 2:8—9: Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descended from David, as preached in my gospel, the gospel for which I am suffering and wearing chains like a criminal. But the word of God is not chained. 1 Corinthians 15:14: If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:17: If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. 1 Corinthians 15:20: But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:51—55: We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable nature must put on the imperishable, and this mortal nature must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?” 2 Timothy 2:3: Bear your share of hardship along with me like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. Invite Him in with this episode's questions for reflection. Join Lisa and Laura as they wrap up the four-part series on Feminine Genius. The feminine genius has four components: receptivity, sensitivity, generosity, and maternity. Each week, Lisa and Laura have unpacked one of these components through the writings of Saint Edith Stein, personal stories, and the Word of God. This is the last week, and we are excited to be talking about maternity! Maternity is more than biological; it is spiritual. The truth is, we are all called to be mothers, to mother the world back to Christ. If you are wondering how, tune in and find out. Open your Heart to our key Scripture. James 1:27: Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode. Psalm 68:5: Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. Romans 12:22: Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Invite Him in with this episode's question for reflection. You matter. Sit with this phrase in the presence of God until you fully absorb its truth. Two big milestones: almost a year since the last time Patrick Kane scored a filthy game-winning goal and the Detroit Red Wings were in a playoff spot, and we're almost at the 10 year anniversary of the Winged Wheel Podcast (00:00). (Submit your favorite moments of the last decade of WWP here: https://x.com/WingedWheelPod/status/1885818163519951307/ Tune in as we start by discussing Detroit's 3-2 overtime win against Petterson and the Vancouver Canucks, including Alex DeBrincat's 2 goals & Raymond's setup for the winner, Berggren finding Chiarot, McLellan's Red Wings dragging on a long road trip, Alex Lyon coming up big & more (4:50), as well as the road trip-sweeping shootout win over Beniers and the Seattle Kraken, including the Dylan Larkin - Marco Kasper - Lucas Raymond line starting things off, the missed trip on Rasmussen, Moritz Seider, Jonatan Berggren, and Elmer Soderblom scoring, and Patrick Kane's record-setting, absolutely disgusting shootout goal to win it (13:45). Also, updates on Jeff Petry's health and Dominik Shine being sent down to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins (27:40). Next, we discuss Detroit's current positioning in the Stanley Cup Playoff race & whether they can compete with the likes of the Ottawa Senators, Tampa Bay Lightning, & Boston Bruins to hang on (32:25). Also, does Todd McLellan deserve Jack Adams votes for NHL coach of the year (40:35), and should Elmer Soderblom stay up with the Hockeytown squad (46:15)? After that, a look at the NHL Player Survey and some interesting results (especially for Little Caesars Arena), the Buffalo Sabres' weak response to the hit on Tage Thompson, Cuylle's hit on Pietrangelo, & more (54:20) before we take your questions and comments in our Overtime segment (1:12:00) - enjoy! Each week, through the writings of Saint Edith Stein, personal stories, and the Word of God, Lisa and Laura will unpack one of these components. This is week three, and we are diving into generosity! Sounds lovely enough, but the reality is that this call to generosity is countercultural, and not as easy as we'd like to believe. Why should women buy into generosity, and what are its obstacles? You'll have to tune in to find out. Open your Heart to our key Scripture. Malachi 3:10–11: Bring the full tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house; and thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing. Join Lisa and Laura as they kick off the new year with a brand new four-part series: Feminine Genius. There are four components in the feminine genius: receptivity, sensitivity, generosity, and maternity. Each week, through the writings of Saint Edith Stein, personal stories, and the Word of God, Lisa and Laura will unpack one of these components. This is week two, and it's all about sensitivity! Do you struggle with being too sensitive? What if we told you that women who are sensitive to the inner workings of their hearts are likely to be sensitive to the hearts of other people? Sensitivity is not a flaw, it is a gift. So go on and grab your coffee, and settle in, as we unwrap the gift of our sensitive hearts! Open your Heart to our key Scripture. Galatians 6:2–5: Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Welcome to Season 2 of Hope for Right Now: A Walking with Purpose Podcast. This week Lisa and Laura kick off the new year with a brand new four-part series: The Feminine Genius. Saint John Paul II coined the phrase “feminine genius” in his open letter titled, Mulieris Dignitatem (On the Dignity and Vocation of Women). In it he writes: “The Church gives thanks for all the manifestations of the feminine ‘genius' which have appeared in the course of history, in the midst of all peoples and nations; she gives thanks for all the charisms which the Holy Spirit distributes to women in the history of the People of God, for all the victories which she owes to their faith, hope and charity: she gives thanks for all the fruits of feminine holiness.” There are four components in the feminine genius: receptivity, sensitivity, generosity, and maternity. Each week, through the writings of Saint Edith Stein, personal stories, and the Word of God, Lisa and Laura will unpack one of these components. This week, it's all about receptivity! So ladies, are you ready to unleash your feminine genius? Grab your Bible and let's go! Open your Heart to our key quote. Saint Edith Stein: The world doesn't need what women have, it needs what women are. Open your Bible to Scriptures referenced in this episode. James 1:6: But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. Invite Him in with this episode's questions for reflection. How can you be more receptive to others around you? Maybe it's putting your phone away and looking your people in the eyes? Maybe it's striking up a conversation in the pharmacy line? Maybe it's waiting up for someone to come home or inviting someone into your home? This week, choose one way you will intentionally be receptive to those around you. Show mentions. Join Lisa and Laura for the last week of our 4-week Advent series, House of Gold. The Virgin Mary is called the House of Gold because she was Jesus' resting place: the one who threw the doors wide open with her YES. Mary made room for Jesus, and she has room in her heart for each one of us, too. This final week, they unpack the Marian title, Mary, Morning Star. Out of all the weeks in the Advent season, this is the week we really struggle to keep our eyes on Jesus. How can Mary, Morning Star, help us get everything accomplished in the next few days while remaining in Christ? Grab a coffee, hit play, and find out! Open your Heart to our key Scripture. Galatians 6:9: And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart. Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode. Luke 1:29: But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered in her mind what sort of greeting this might be. 1 Corinthians 8:1: “Knowledge” puffs up, but love builds up. Mary made room for Jesus, and she has room in her heart for each one of us, too. In this third week of Advent, they unpack the Marian title, Mary, Queen of Martyrs. Why is Mary a martyr if she didn't die a martyr's death? Why are we focusing on suffering during the happiest time of year? These questions, and many more, are answered in today's episode. Therefore take the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore. Mark 5:41: “Talitha koum,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise!” Romans 8:26: In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
