Shares in Taiwan extended momentum (延續動能) from a session earlier and closed at the day's high Tuesday, led by the electronics and financial sectors amid improved sentiment (市場信心改善) with the United States and Iran scheduled to sign a peace agreement Friday. Optimism toward geopolitics continued to drive the local main board higher, but analysts say the gains lagged behind a strong rally in the United States as some investors appeared reluctant to chase prices amid fears of possible volatility (波動性) today, the settlement day of the June futures. Kaohsiung hospital dengue cluster linked to imported case: CDC The Centers for Disease Control says a dengue fever cluster (群聚感染) at Kaohsiung Municipal Min-Sheng Hospital has been confirmed as linked to an imported case from Vietnam. A localized dengue cluster emerged at Min-Sheng Hospital after five inpatients tested positive for dengue fever on June 12-th. At a weekly briefing, the CDC said genetic sequencing (基因定序) showed all infections in the cluster matched an imported case reported earlier this month. As of Monday, the cluster totaled six cases, with no new infections reported. The CDC has since expanded testing to more than 1,400 people at the hospital, but there is currently no evidence of broader community transmission (社區傳播). The center is stressing that dengue fever is a mosquito-borne disease and is not transmitted from person to person, thus mosquito prevention remains the most important measure. ¡Felicitaciones a los equipos de liderazgo/consejos estudiantiles de las cuatro escuelas preparatorias integrales de HSD y de la Escuela Secundaria R.A. Brown! Cada uno de ellos obtuvo el prestigioso Premio Gold Council en la Conferencia de Liderazgo de Primavera de la Asociación de Consejos Estudiantiles de Oregón el 27 de abril, ¡un logro alcanzado por solo 25 escuelas preparatorias y 8 escuelas secundarias en todo el estado!Los programas de liderazgo comienzan estableciendo metas en el otoño y participando de manera constante en actividades y eventos durante todo el año. Para recibir este reconocimiento, los programas deben crear y promover iniciativas que fomenten el sentido de pertenencia entre todos los estudiantes y ofrecer una variedad de eventos que incluyan distintas áreas y disciplinas. Además de su participación en la escuela, los estudiantes también deben demostrar que están adquiriendo valiosas destrezas de liderazgo y aptitudes profesionales que puedan aplicar fuera del salón de clases.El director ejecutivo de la Asociación de Consejos Estudiantiles de Oregón, Cameron Broome, comentó lo siguiente: «Este programa de reconocimiento es mucho más que un simple trofeo; es un marco riguroso diseñado para ayudar a los estudiantes a servir, aprender, invertir y crecer junto con sus comunidades escolares. Primavera, a new film about Vivaldi tells the story of his composing for pupils of an institution for abandoned girls. We speak to the film's director Damiano Michieletto, better known as an award-winning opera director, about his film and about Vivaldi himself. Ben Lerner, the Pulitzer-nominated author of Leaving the Atocha Station and The Topeka School, discusses his latest novel Transcription; an exploration of loss, technology and “fiction”. The Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities in Oxford officially opens its doors next weekend.
