The Worst Slam Dunk Contest in the History of the NBA

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 28, 2022 53:35

Welcome back, everyone! The 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend concluded in Cleveland, Ohio, this past week. The 75 greatest players of all time were celebrated in remarkable fashion, and the sight of so many legends was mesmerizing, to say the least. Unfortunately, the slam dunk contest was the most pitiful experience of the weekend, topped off with a 50 point game from Stephen Curry, who had 16 three-pointers made, and a game-winner from none other than LeBron James. LeBron didn't fail to raise speculation about a possible return to Cleveland or what will happen in his final season. The rankings for the NBA Top 75 were also released, prompting the team to break down all of this and more in this week's episode of Ticket To The Game. James Harden DID IT! He finessed his way out of his second team in two years. The KD, Kyrie, and Harden experiment has run its course and is no more. WIth the 2022 NBA trade deadline living up to the hype, a new dynamic duo has formed in Philly. The current MVP favorite Joel Embiid and James Harden have the world to prove. The Nets secured Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, and Andre Drummond, looking to the future while having a safety net for today. Oh ya... other teams made moves, too, including the Kings trading THEIR ONE GOOD PIECE in Haliburton to the Pacers of Sabonis. The Blazers sold on their entire current roster sans Damian Lillard and Nurkic. The Mavs folded on Porzingis. And the Lakers made NO MOVES, LMAO. Overall this week was sensational as so many players and so much capital were moved, and we are glad the Ben Simmons saga has come to a close. The Super Bowl and the Rams and Bengals will battle it out for who deserves to be celebrated more in America this weekend. Matt Stafford looks for his first ring alongside Odell Beckham Jr., Offensive Player of the year Cooper Kupp, and Aaron Donald. At the same time, Joe Burrow and JeMarr Chase, and Joe Mixon look to claim glory for the first time in their young career. Super Bowl 56 will be a night to remember.
