The Kings faced Wemby and the Spurs for the 1st time and it was a fun one. Wemby is as advertised, a super tall and long alien that really bends the spacing around the court to his will. And the Kings were able to well, deal with it. De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis were not deterred at all by presence of Wemby and attacked the rim relentless as well as being on fire from outside to take the game for the Kings. It was a team effort from the Kings, Fox and Sabonis plus Monk handled most of the scoring while the other guys did a lot of the dirty work on defense. The Kings are really rounding into shape and guys are really getting comfortable in their roles. The Kings are now 2-0 in In-Season Tournament games and have the highest point differential in their bracket, meaning they lead the pack in their group. A trip to Vegas in December could very much be in play for them. No contest in LA last night as the Kings went wire to wire in their 125-110 win over the Lakers. With DeAaron Fox back for his second straight game from his ankle injury Domantas Sabonis has gone from a good player to a great player. Sabonis had 29 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the Kings to their 6th win of the season. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Kings ended their weekend on a good note with a thrilling win against the Lakers in overtime. It was the 20th anniversary of Lebron James making his NBA debut in Sacramento back in 2003, and he along with Anthony Davis showed out. But so did the Kings, Fox was spectaular, Sabonis was impactful, and the rest of the team did their part. When Domas fouled out in the 4th and Fox had to sit in OT with an ankle injury, Malik Monk took over the game and Kevin Huerter finished them off with some big plays. Fox will likely miss 1-2 weeks with his ankle injury late, so the King's depth will be tested these next stretch of games, but for one night, the Kings showed fight and bested one of the top teams in the West to get their beam lit at home. Then, they talk about the development of Domas, DeAaron Fox and Keegan Murray. After that, it's the Duarte trade. How will he fit in with Sacramento? What will his chemistry with Sabonis mean for the team moving forward? (18:28-43:41) – Mat Issa, an NBA writer for SB Nation, joins the program to talk about the Pacers' offseason, starting with Tyrese Haliburton who Issa called the “Midwest Magic Johnson”. What can the Blue and Gold realistically accomplish this year and what do they need to accomplish over the life of Haliburton's contract? Then, the conversation shifts to include the entire NBA as they look at the Damien Lillard situation in Portland. What about Boston? How will their offseason moves pan out and where do the Celtics rank among the Eastern Conference? Back to the Pacers, what will Bruce Brown bring to the team? What will Andrew Nembhard develop into this year? (43:42-1:11:53) – Kevin Bowen of Kevin & Query on The Fan calls in to talk about how the Saquon Barkley situation affects Jonathan Taylor and the Colts. Then, what does Shaq Leonard need to prove going into this season? What can Alec Pierce do to become a focal point in this offense and help the career trajectory of Anthony Richardson. Then, they look at the QB competition coming up in training camp. Should the team get Richardson his reps but risk a worse record, or let Gardner Minshew play and potentially win a couple extra games? Bowen reminded up that no Colts fan is upset with a 3-13 1998 season with rookie Peyton Manning setting both touchdown and interception records. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
(00:00-29:19) – The Fan Midday Show opens on a Friday with Jimmy Cook and James Boyd, starting with a conversation about Damien Lillard and what the parallels are between the Portland situation and the Pacers' past situations. Did Lillard destroy his trade value by declaring he only wants to go to Miami? What are the options for Portland? Then, the conversation shifts to some Colts talk as the two hosts discuss the future of the defensive line in Indy. What will things look like this season for the group and what does that mean for the group next offseason? Will Deforest Buckner find himself on the move? (29:20-49:13) – Brenden Nunes, a reporter for the Sacramento Kings, joins the show to talk about who won the Tyrese Haliburton/Domantas Sabonis trade. Then, they talk about the development of Domas, DeAaron Fox and Keegan Murray. After that, it's the Duarte trade. How will he fit in with Sacramento? (49:56-1:20:07) – Mat Issa, an NBA writer for SB Nation, joins the program to talk about the Pacers' offseason, starting with Tyrese Haliburton who Issa called the “Midwest Magic Johnson”. (1:20:08-1:38:57) – Jimmy and James start the segment talking about the Kentucky men's basketball team hooping at Drake's house. Which celebrity would host Mike Woodson and IU? Then, they talk Colts with the city of Indianapolis seemingly embracing Anthony Richardson with open arms. Jimmy reminds everybody that Shane Steichen's last QB, Jalen Hurts, was on the hot seat prior to last season and most felt that he was going to be a bust. What changed? How does this apply to Richardson? (1:38:57-1:40:17) – James and Jimmy close out the second hour. (1:40:24-2:10:01) – Kevin Bowen of Kevin & Query on The Fan calls in to talk about how the Saquon Barkley situation affects Jonathan Taylor and the Colts. (2:10:02-2:22:59) – James and Jimmy take a step back and look at the running back position in the entire NFL with the franchise tag deadline coming up on Monday. What options do guys like Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs have at this point in their careers? What can these guys take away from the Le'Veon Bell situation and what should Jonathan Taylor be looking out for ahead of his contract extension talks? Yoooo! Welcome back to the 1497 podcast! We hope everyone had a great day yesterday. Micheal and Jon are back !! The boys had a lot to talk about yesterday, so let's dive into the madness. They started off the show with their NBA top 10 center in the league. Rudy Gobert and Sabonis not making someone top 10 list? Tune in the episode to hear about that take. In the game we call life there's winners and losers. The boys talked about their winners and losers of NBA free agency. You would think loyalty means something to the Blazers. At the end of the day, it's business. Damian Lillard hasn't been traded. The boys gave their two cents about how that situation is being handled. Just like Deion and Bo, they switched sports. Jon and Micheal gave their AFC West predictions. They also asked an important question about running backs. Is that the worse position in the NFL right now, pertaining to money.
