I had David Griffin on today and he's a unique individual in so many ways, not only as an artist but as a person as well. I'm fortunate to be able to represent David's work. I'm also fortunate to have gotten the time to talk to him and understand the path he took to get where he is today. His story starts in Lubbock, Texas, which is not an area known for its art production of artists, and coming from a family where father was actually a very sophisticated entrepreneur who came from nothing. You can imagine if you're a young person growing up in Lubbock and your dad runs and develops truck stops, that they may not understand the creative juices that someone has. David just didn't give up what was obviously his path, his road from being a illustrator to an artist, to really capturing some major awards at museum shows.I love podcasts that just kind of go at their own pace, and this was one of those. It took two hours basically. So it's a part one / part two, and it took that long because that's where the story went from understanding his process to really making a major discovery of who he is as an artist and as someone who hears music in his colors in a way that I don't think he was even aware of.So it was fascinating as somebody who's doing an interview and I think it was a great experience for him as well. So this is a wonderful discussion that we had, and I hope you take the time to listen and also go to YouTube and just see the paintings we talk about.
20 years ago, automation was a pipe dream for industrial workers, 10 years ago it existed in research and development labs. Now it's fully operational in warehouses, production facilities and even mines. The companies driving robotics forwards are going one step further than developing smarter AI. They're figuring out how to apply that advanced engineering to ‘gritty' manufacturing – and there are few places that understand that world better than the Steel City.Pittsburgh has become an important ecosystem for developing autonomous technologies, the combination of engineering talent and thriving industrial background has turned it into somewhat of a testing ground for physical AI.Recorded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this was a special live show in collaboration with the Pittsburgh Robotics Network. Chris is joined by three industry leaders to talk about adopting autonomy in critical industries. Brett Phillips is Chief Revenue Officer and General Council at Hellbender, specializing in on-edge AI hardware development. David Griffin is Chief Sales Officer at Seegrid, manufacturer of autonomous mobile robots. Mike Smocer is CEO of Mine Vision Systems, a mining technology company building real-time digital mapping systems for GPS denied environments. They dig into how autonomy is moving beyond one-off projects, and into fully integrated systems. Brett breaks down how the incorporation of sensors and models are shrinking development timelines for autonomous systems and why Pittsburgh's willingness to ‘get their hands dirty' is key. David explains how advances in perception and control systems have pushed AMRs beyond basic pallet moves into large, complex material moves through busy logistics environments. Mike shares how Mine Vision Systems support vital underground decision making with millions of dollars of impact by replacing manual mapping and tribal knowledge with accurate digital records. For anyone considering where robotics and AI can create value inside their operations, thinking about the intersection between advanced software and manufacturing, or curious why Pittsburgh has become so strong in robotics and autonomy, this episode is a look at how three industry leaders are managing that change today. In this episode, find out: • About the technological advances that shifted autonomy from isolated deployments to a broader ecosystem covering manufacturing, logistics, mining and warehouse operations.• How David explains the evolution of AMRs within lifting, going from limited pallet moves to an all-in-one technology capable of moving any material to any location.• Why mid-tier manufacturers are becoming a major driver of autonomy adoption due to labor constraints and the positive impact of this in regional production environments.• What mining looks like without the implementation of automated systems, Mike discusses highly intelligent operators still using coloured pencils and paper to capture critical underground data.• Mining as a tunnel building process with the constant balance of optimizing extraction with breakage vs. how much time and cost is spent processing the material caused by that breakage.• How Hellbender utilizes their expertise and capability to provide an end-to-end service inhouse, getting their customers to market in a matter of months rather than years.• The role of sensors, on-edge AI, and manufacturing capability in accelerating the production of perception systems that serve as the eyes and ears of the autonomy stack.• What the conversation reveals about Pittsburgh's current position as a robotics hub where engineering talent, institutional history and manufacturing culture are allowing them to go head-to-head with the likes of Silicon Valley.Enjoying the show? The hardware component of our product is essentially a near commodity at this point. It's the navigation systems, the safety systems, the perception systems, the control systems.” – David Griffin • ”There is a transformation involved. There's change management involved. There are workflows that if you disrupt them just because your cool technology solved one little problem, broke 12... There's an approach to developing your technology so that it succeeds not only now, but in the future.” – Mike Smocer• “What's gonna separate us moving forward is the ability to sort of mash this really high-level, very technical engineering with real-world manufacturing. That is where, uniquely, Pittsburgh stands alone.” – Brett Phillips Do you want to connect with other leaders that are moving the needle in manufacturing everyday? Then make sure to join us in the Manufacturing Happy Hour Industry Community on LinkedIn.Apprentice has developed the first AI Agent designed specifically for manufacturing, not adapted from a general model. David Griffin returns for a follow up episode to the first Paranormal Peep Show episode where he explained how Marconi may have received recovered alien technology from the Falklands War of 1982. This was allegedly a sentient Black liquid commonly referred to as the Black Goo. This goo was left by bad aliens as a 'Dead Man's trigger', and was partially removed by Blue Aliens back in 1917 according to abductee Alec Newald. However some remained in the South Atlantic and it was this dangerous material that was removed by UK forces after the Falklands War and possibly from Southern Thule Island and handed over to Marconi Defence, according to research done by Griffin. It was the result of this dangerous technology that lead possibly to the strange and bizarre deaths of 23 Marconi Scientists over an 8 year period. David continues his explanation of the deaths and how the secrets have continued to be kept and held from the public. Have Marconi accidently triggered the deaths of the scientists working for them, by getting them to investigate the Black Goo? David talks about a man who killed three people in the Notts area of the UK who went right up to the reception desk of M15 and said 'Get this thing out of my head!' What was he referring to?For part 1, please visit https://www.spreaker.com/episode/the-paranormal-peep-show-how-marconi-suffered-from-the-black-goo-w… Part of the Paranormal UK Radio Network at www.paukradio.comBen's channel can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/ @benthejrporter and https://hpanwo.blogspot.com/ and https://hpanwo-radio.blogspot.com/Andy's Tunedinevents can be viewed at https://www.tunedinevents.co.uk/Neil's web site can be viewed at www.neilwardart.co.ukLook out for Neil Ward's books on Amazon and elsewhere, True Tales of the Paranormal and Modern Mysteries of the Unexplained: The Most Perplexing Events of Recent TimesDavid Griffin's work can be seen in part at https://www.exopolitics.org.uk/and David's own Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/ @contactimes Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/paranormal-uk-radio-network--4541473/support.

Was a mysterious but dangerous alien technology secretly recovered from the South Atlantic after the Falklands War of 1982?In this episode of The Paranormal Peep Show, Exopolitics researcher David Griffin joins us to explore one of the most unsettling Cold War mysteries. UFO abductee Alec Newald claimed that a strange sentient black liquid or black goo was allegedly discovered in the South Atlantic—possibly near Southern Thule Island—following the conflict around the Falkland Islands. According to these theories, the substance may have been left long ago in the frozen wastes by an unknown alien race, remaining dormant in extreme cold environments but “waking up” or becoming active when exposed to warmer conditions. Was the Marconi defence company tasked with investigating the mysterious but deadly material? But it took a darker turn when, in the 1980s, more than two dozen engineers and scientists working for Marconi in secret projects died in very unusual or unexplained circumstances—an episode often referred to as the GEC-Marconi scientist deaths controversy. Coincidence? Cold War espionage? Or something far stranger hidden beneath the ice? In this episode, we explore: • Claims of alien technology hidden in frozen regions • The mysterious sentient black goo and why it was placed in the frozen wastes of the South Atlantic • Marconi's involvement in advanced defence research • The unexplained deaths of defence scientists. It's claimed the lack of dementia-specific care beds in Clare is a significant burden on affected families. It's estimated that up to 1,700 people in this county and around 64,000 nationally are living with dementia, with the national figure set to rise to over 150,000 by 2045. At this month's Clare County Council meeting, local representatives heard of an elderly woman currently being transferred between St John's Hospital and Nenagh due to a lack of beds. Newmarket-on-Fergus Fianna Fáil Councillor, David Griffin says it's causing increased stress in an already challenging situation.

David shares his journey from pre‑med student and college baseball player in Lubbock, Texas to becoming a successful illustrator and, later, a fine artist rooted in realism and storytelling. He recounts formative experiences at the Illustrators Workshop in New York, his years sharing a Dallas studio with top illustrators, and the lessons they taught him about composition, narrative, and creating “a place for the eye to rest.” David explores how memory, truth, and heritage—big skies, ranch life, and family artifacts—shape his work and give it emotional honesty. A major focus is David's new long-term project, “The Art of Wandering,” where he will document how mental and physical wandering with a sense of wonder leads to ideas, large paintings, and deeper relationships with collectors and fellow artists. David also dives into the idea of art as a lifelong calling, discussing struggle, hard work versus talent, the trap of imitating others, and the importance of finding one's own authentic voice by pursuing one's own heart. David closes by reflecting on art as a conversation without words, his hope that truthful work outlives the artist, and his gratitude for the creative community and opportunities ahead.David's FASO site:davidgriffinstudio.comDavid's Social Media:instagram.com/davidrgriffinfacebook.com/david.griffin.5

The latest Transport Sectoral Implementation Report under the National Development Plan (NDP) has been published, but there's next to nothing of Clare interest in it. The report outlines the national road projects expected to advance before 2030. While several counties across Ireland have multiple strategic schemes progressing, Clare is almost entirely absent. West Clare does not feature at all, nor the works required in Ballycar, Newmarket-on-Fergus, to alleviate flooding, or the reopening of Crusheen Railway Station. Is Clare being sidelined or ignored? Dr. David Griffin, a Charleston, South Carolina native, is a nationally recognized leader, speaker, author, and fire service professional whose life was forever changed on June 18, 2007. As the driver of the first engine on scene at the devastating Sofa Super Store fire that claimed the lives of nine Charleston firefighters, David was thrust into a journey of trauma, transformation, and ultimately, purpose. Haunted by survivor's guilt, Griffin initially spiraled into destructive coping mechanisms including alcohol, painkillers, and professional mixed martial arts fighting. After a punishing bout with UFC veteran Houston “The Assassin” Alexander left him battered and soul-searching, he came to a powerful realization: the path he was on did not honor the legacy of the nine lives lost. That moment became the catalyst for his life's mission to lead change, challenge outdated systems, and promote healing and resilience among first responders and organizations worldwide. Today, Dr. Griffin holds a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership and Development, a Master's Degree in Executive Fire Service Leadership, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from The Citadel, where he also played Division I baseball and later coached. He currently serves as the Assistant Chief for the Charleston Fire Department, having held every uniformed rank, and leads the department's Honor Guard and Mental Health Peer Support Team. He is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer program and has completed executive education at Harvard, Yale, Cornell, and through the IAFC's Fire Service Executive Development Institute. He is a Certified Fire Officer IV, Chief Fire Officer (CFO), and Chief Training Officer (CTO), and is an active member of the IAFC and the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE). Beyond his fire service career, Griffin's personal journey is one of grit and resilience. From overcoming doubts as a young athlete to becoming a state bodybuilding champion, professional MMA fighter, marathoner, and Ironman triathlete, he lives what he teaches. He was a rider in the 1,700-mile Brotherhood Ride from Florida to Ground Zero and continues to pursue fitness through boxing, surfing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and more. In 2013, David launched The Find Your Mission Tour, an international movement of leadership, mental health awareness, and cultural reform. Over the last 12 years, he has spoken to more than 1,300 organizations across 47 U.S. states and multiple countries, reaching over 550,000 people in five languages. His audiences include fire and police departments, military units, universities, private companies, and nonprofits. He is also a best-selling author with four published books: In Honor of The Charleston 9: A Study of Change Following Tragedy ACTION: 9 Missions for Personal and Professional Growth From PTSD to PTG: A Firefighter's (MY) Journey After a Multiple LODD Incident Tattoos and Trauma: The Healing Power of Tattoos for Emergency Responders Griffin is currently working on three new books: I'll Stand By You, Principled Leadership From The Road Less Traveled, and Handwritten Hope: Poetry and Prose to Cope. His wife, Melissa Griffin, is also an author, having written Inspiration from a Wife on a Mission Following Tragedy, which details the challenges of supporting a partner with PTSD. Dr. David Griffin is living proof that adversity can be transformed into impact. His message is clear: trauma does not have to define you your mission can.
