The Bengals announced five new nominees Wednesday for the team's Ring of Honor ballot, adding former stars Geno Atkins, Carlos Dunlap, A.J. Green, Leon Hall and Andrew Whitworth ahead of the 2026 voting process. The additions join returning nominees Jim Breech, James Brooks, Cris Collinsworth, David Fulcher, Max Montoya, Bob Trumpy and Reggie Williams on the 12-player ballot that will be voted on by season ticket members beginning June 1. During their latest podcast, Local 12 digital sports columnist and editor Richard Skinner and Mike Petraglia of CLNS Media discussed how the addition of several modern-era stars could split votes among newer candidates while longtime Bengals legends continue waiting for induction. Skinner said he believes Brooks and the late Trumpy remain deserving candidates, especially as the Bengals prepare to reduce future Ring of Honor classes from two annual inductees to one beginning in 2027. “James Brooks is honestly overdue,” Skinner said. The pair also discussed how several current Bengals players — including Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins — could eventually become future Ring of Honor candidates if the team breaks through with a Super Bowl title. Petraglia and Skinner also touched on the Bengals' unusually drama-free offseason, praising the organization's businesslike approach after major roster additions on defense and contract extensions for key offensive stars. The conversation also highlighted rookie defensive lineman Landon Robinson, with Skinner praising the former Navy standout's discipline, maturity and work ethic after recently graduating from the Naval Academy.

In this episode of the Packernet Podcast, we unload on the bold claims that Caleb Williams is already a top five quarterback in the NFL. We dig into recent analyst rankings and YouTube breakdowns that place him ahead of proven veterans, and we examine why the arguments feel more like vibes than substance, especially when stacked against Jordan Love and other established signal-callers in the NFC North. We break down the key discussion points: Why two-year touchdown and interception totals get treated as elite production when single-season numbers from Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and others put them in perspective. The shaky criteria around durability, mobility, and "momentum" that fail to separate truly good quarterbacks from merely available ones. How future potential and age arguments are being used to artificially elevate young players while quietly pushing proven QBs like Jordan Love down the rankings. The dangerous game of projecting infinite improvement onto one player while ignoring similar trajectories for others across the league. This episode is brought to you by PrizePicks! Garret and Andrew fire up a fast paced round of Booming Bench Bust, putting dynasty favorites into three buckets and forcing clear takes instead of the usual keep trade cut hedging. Garret frames it as a gut check game, and Andrew leans into ceiling and situation, even when it means making uncomfortable calls on big names. Listen to This Episode: Apple Podcasts Spotify YouTube The show opens with a tricky wide receiver trio where Andrew crowns George Pickens as the boom, slots Garrett Wilson as the bench, and tags Chris Olave as the bust based on target competition. Garret counters by calling Garrett Wilson his boom and pushing Pickens into bust territory due to volatility and situational risk. At quarterback, both agree Joe Burrow carries the biggest boom profile, but they split on the bench bust debate between Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert, with Garret worried about Herbert's volume under Harbaugh. At running back, both side with Kenneth Walker as the boom over Breece Hall and Quinshon Judkins, then align again on a second trio by making Javonte Williams the boom and fading Josh Jacobs. Tight end debate follows, with both landing on Sam LaPorta as the bust, while Garret pushes Kyle Pitts as his boom. The episode closes with a fun QB2 swing where Andrew bets on Ty Simpson as the long play boom, while Garret plants a flag on Daniel Jones as a potential career resurgence.
