Another trio in the books! The Nets added Julius Randle and a potentially interesting rookie, but is there enough usage to go around? The Pacers have Tyrese Haliburton back, but do they immediately jump back to being contenders? The Cavaliers have done next to nothing this offseason. So that's pretty whack. Are you treating extrapulmonary neuroendocrine carcinomas based on where they start—or what they actually are? In this faculty follow-up to their i3 Health activity (Clinical Challenges in Extrapulmonary NEC: Expert Insights on Diagnosis, Treatment, and Emerging Targets), Andrew Hendifar, MD, and Danielle Hutchings, MD (Cedars-Sinai Medical Center), unpack why treating these rare, aggressive tumors according to site of origin rather than tumor lineage can compromise outcomes. They clarify crucial pathologic distinctions between well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs) while emphasizing the essential role of multidisciplinary collaboration in precision care. The experts also explore the novel therapeutic landscape of delta-like ligand 3 (DLL3)–targeted therapies, highlighting the promise of DLL3 T-cell engagers in extrapulmonary disease. They address ongoing diagnostic hurdles—such as standardized immunohistochemistry (IHC) expression thresholds and expanding send-out testing access—while sharing key insights on emerging clinical trials evaluating T-cell engager monotherapies and chemo-immunotherapy combinations. Robert A. Nichols of La Vernia has received a 15-year sentence for sexually assaulting his biological daughter. A Wilson County jury found Nichols guilty on July 22 of three counts of sexual assault and sentenced him to 15 years in prison on each count. However, 81st Judicial District Attorney Audrey Gossett Louis explained that because the crime was committed at a time when Texas law did not allow stacking sentences for adult sexual assaults, Nichols will serve no more than 15 years for his crimes. He will be eligible for parole in 7-1/2 years. Nichols turned himself in to the... Article Link

Spain beat Argentina 1-0 in extra time to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. It was a tournament full of drama, upsets, and cultural moments - not least in China, where Xiaohongshu streamed all 104 matches for free and Norwegian striker Erling Haaland generated nearly 1.8 billion views on the platform. China's national team, meanwhile, watched from home. Again. Mark Dreyer has spent nearly two decades trying to explain that paradox.Mark is the founder of China Sports Insider, author of Sporting Superpower: An Insider's View on China's Quest to Be the Best, and one of the most respected English-language journalists covering sport in China. His recent piece in The Economist on the state of Chinese football went viral, laying out why a country with enormous resources, a football-obsessed president, and 1.4 billion people has qualified for the World Cup exactly once - in 2002 - and shows few signs of returning anytime soon.In this episode, Mark gives his verdict on the 2026 World Cup - the football, the format, and the final. As a dual English-Canadian citizen, he also has personal stakes in two teams: England, who reached the semi-finals before losing to Argentina and finished third with a thrilling 6-4 win over France, and Canada, who bowed out in the round of 16. He breaks down the state of Chinese football at every level - the national team, the domestic league, and the youth development pipeline - and explains why the problems run much deeper than money or political will can fix.Mark also digs into how China consumed this World Cup differently: Xiaohongshu's landmark streaming deal, the Haaland phenomenon and what it reveals about how Chinese fans engage with foreign athletes, and whether China will ever host - let alone win - a World Cup of its own. Discussion Points· Overall verdict on the 2026 World Cup: the football, the 48-team format, North America as hosts, and Spain's win over Argentina· England's semi-final run and third-place finish, and Canada's round of 16 exit - Mark's personal take as a dual citizen· North America as a three-country host and whether England or China could host a future World Cup· The state of the Chinese men's national team: why investment and political will haven't translated into results· Youth football in China: structural problems, academic pressure, and what a genuine grassroots culture would require· The Chinese Super League post-boom-and-bust: where the domestic league stands after the salary caps and corruption investigations· Xiaohongshu's landmark streaming deal: all 104 matches free of charge, and what it signals about sports broadcasting in China· The Haaland phenomenon: 1.8 billion Xiaohongshu views, 'Ha Bao,' romance game edits, and what it tells us about Chinese fan culture· Xi Jinping's three football ambitions - host, qualify, win - and which, if any, are achievable· The single most important thing that needs to change for Chinese football to genuinely improve

A viral TikTok about fish aggregation devices drifting into marine protected areas got Andrew thinking about a topic he hasn't covered in a while: ghost nets. In this episode, he breaks down what ghost nets actually are, the scientific term for them (ALDFG, or abandoned, lost, or otherwise discarded fishing gear), and why they're a growing, well-documented problem from the ocean surface all the way down to the deep seafloor. Andrew walks through what the peer-reviewed research shows: entanglement patterns across whales, seals, sea turtles, and coral reefs, a personal diving story off Big Cayman where he watched a ghost net get cut free from a loggerhead sea turtle, and the real economic and technical challenges holding back solutions like ropeless fishing gear and biodegradable nets. He also covers where progress is actually happening, from derelict net removal programs to circular economy recycling models. This isn't a "just stop fishing" episode. Andrew makes the case that ghost nets are a solvable, adaptable problem, but one that needs more research funding, cheaper technology, and stronger enforcement to get there. Takeaways from this episode: Ghost nets (ALDFG) are found from the ocean surface to the deep seafloor, and they keep catching and killing marine life for as long as they remain in the water. The animals most affected span whales, seals, sea turtles, and coral reef species, not just fish. Solutions like ropeless gear and biodegradable nets are real and improving, but cost and fisher adoption remain the biggest barriers. Stopping fishing altogether isn't a realistic fix. The path forward is better gear design, more funding, and stronger enforcement. Listeners can support the fisheries and programs that are already investing in gear-loss prevention and removal. Peter's boat wasn't a pulpit—it was his 9-to-5. It was where he worked, toiled, and likely felt the everyday weight of provision and pressure. But then Jesus stepped in. A routine fishing trip became a divine appointment, and an ordinary man encountered an extraordinary call. This message is all about calling. He meets us right in the middle of our real lives. For Peter, it was in the boat. For us, it might be in the office, the classroom, or the kitchen. After a miraculous catch that broke the nets and stunned the crowd, Peter didn't just celebrate the success—he left it all behind to follow Jesus. The boat, the fish, the nets—none of it compared to the invitation of the Savior. This week challenges us to listen for Jesus' voice in the places we've grown familiar or even frustrated. Many people feel stuck, unqualified, or unsure of what God could possibly do with their lives. But when Jesus steps into your boat, everything changes. What if the next step in your calling begins not with striving, but with surrender? Are you willing to drop your nets and follow Him—trusting that wherever He leads is better than where you've been?
In Episode 549 of State of the New York Knicks, I break down the Knicks' Summer League opener against the Brooklyn Nets and give my biggest takeaways from the first game. I discuss Pacome Dadiet's aggressive mindset, finishing with 20 points and 7 rebounds while leading the team with 16 shot attempts. Even though his three-point shot wasn't falling, I liked that he consistently attacked the basket, finished efficiently inside the arc, knocked down all four free throws, and never looked overwhelmed. I also dive into Tyler Nickel's impressive 18-point performance, where he knocked down six three-pointers while showing excellent off-ball movement despite inconsistent point guard play. I talk about why I think his defensive effort and willingness to compete on the glass stood out beyond the box score. As always, I give my honest observations, what impressed me, what still needs work, and what Knicks fans should be watching as Summer League continues. In this episode, we break down the real power behind New York sports and culture — starting with one name that's been at the center of it all: Jay‑Z.For years, he's been more than music. From Brooklyn to Madison Square Garden, his influence has shaped moments, teams, and the business of the game itself. But with that level of visibility comes pressure — so the question is, is he still the undisputed King of New York… or is the crown up for grabs? Then we shift into one of the wildest NBA offseasons in recent memory. Blockbuster moves, franchise-altering trades, and decisions that could define the next era of the league:Giannis to Miami — instant contender or risky window?Jaylen Brown and Paul George swap — who actually won?Kawhi's possible return to Toronto — legacy move or gamble?Ja, LaMelo, and shifting team identities across the leagueLakers, Celtics, Knicks, and Nets all making moves that matterAnd that's just basketball. We also tap into the NFL landscape — with the Seattle Seahawks looking to defend their title and the AFC East trying to figure out who can finally take down the Patriots. This isn't just about headlines — it's about power, pressure, and performance when it counts. So here's the question:Who's really building to win… and who's just making noise?Drop your takes in the comments and join the conversation.
Kings faced the Nets and Celtics in back to back games and it was 2 games of truly dreadful basketball for the Kings. The Kings struggled mightily with turnovers in the Nets game in which they gave up 27 of them, and in the Celtics game the Kings only managed to score a total of 4 points in the 1st quarter. It is just Summer League so there's only so much we can take away from these games, but it does raise the question of whether the issues could carry over into the main roster when it's time for real games in the regular season.Time will tell.Use code SKT15 on checkout to get 15% off from HYVDesigns on Etsy during checkout or use this link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/hyvdesigns/?etsrc=sdt&coupon=SKT15Intro Music by Blue Dot Sessions. https://www.sessions.blueIf you want to email us: kingtherapypod@gmail.com
