Dr. Moss graduated from Western Michigan University School of Medicine and will begin Internal Medicine residency this year at Mt. Sinai Morningside West in New York. Drew has been an important mentor for me since we lived together while attending the University of Michigan.
David is a CPA working at the Miami branch of Deloitte. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting at Saginaw Valley State University. He also had stints on the school's baseball and football team throughout his undergrad experience. In this episode, David and I reflect on important influences in our childhood, how we cultivated discipline throughout our sports endeavors, and how our passions are changing as we grow.
On this episode, I was joined by my friend and classmate Andrew Hospodor. He and I discuss lessons learned in our first year of medical school, the importance of being empathetic, and salient advice that has stuck with us thus far.In 2021, Andrew was recognized as Student Doctor of the Year by the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians. He has many years of experience being a paramedic and working in emergency medical services.
Ben and I talk about how our experience with the Michigan Football team has transferred to our current positions. We also touch on mental and physical health while discussing his recent accomplishment of running a marathon. Ben Wright is an Investment Consultant at Marquette Associates in Chicago and is pursuing CFA accreditation.
Dr. Abouzaid and I talked about her experience in medical school, residency, and beyond. We touched on managing stressors in and out of the workplace, and strategies to staying on top of our mental health. Dr. Rachel Abouzaid is an attending Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician and mother of two. She earned her MD from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. She currently practices in the Metro Detroit area.
Erin and I discussed our experience with leadership, reflected on lessons learned in this past year, and talked about how to approach certain challenges in our lives going forward. Erin is the President of the Class of 2024 at the Carolinas Campus of Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. She earned her Bachelor's degree at Clemson University and her Master's degree at Bluefield College.
Joss and I talk about his battle through injuries during his college football experience, lessons learned throughout recovery and his weight loss that followed his career in sports. We also talk about strategies to navigate long distance relationships and the interplay between physical and mental health through the lens of managing stress.Joss is a CPA and currently works for the financial department of the Buffalo Bills. He was formerly a captain of the football team at Ball State University where he also earned a Bachelor's degree in both Finance and Accounting.
Creighton and I talk about lessons learned in our first year of medical school, and discuss our professional and personal goals for the next three years and beyond. We also talk about the benefits of having a significant other that is also on track to becoming a health professional. Creighton received his bachelor's degree from Clemson University and his master's degree from The Medical University of South Carolina. He is currently the Vice President of the Internal Medicine club at the VCOM-Carolinas campus.

He was formerly the head sales rep for SportStar Athletics, and prior to that was the Assistant Equipment Manager for the University of Michigan football team.

Greg is a graduate of the University of Florida and is a current classmate of mine at VCOM. He continues to be an advocate for the Down Syndrome community and currently volunteers with the Down Syndrome Association of the Upstate.
