(Jun 23, 2026) The end of this year's legislative session saw the departure of more than a dozen state lawmakers, including some longtime Upstate lawmakers who have left their mark on the Capitol; a new documentary tells the story of the oil spill on the St. Lawrence River in the words of those who lived it; and we have a preview of today's North Country at Work event in Ticonderoga.

In this first of two episodes, Julie chats with Savannah about the profound "first time" that one sees their true femme self in the mirror... that first fateful time when the reflection in the mirror stops being just a biological male and starts being the more authentic and grounded female spirit. Julie and Savannah read listener letters and comment about how often there are commonalities to the catalysts to discovering ones femme essence and yet how individualized every experience truly is. -----SAVANNAH HAUK is the author of “Living with Crossdressing: Defining a New Normal” and “Living with Crossdressing: Discovering your True Identity“. H1-S2 full 00:07 somebody needs to write a book and I'm pretty sure they're going to be doing it on the metamorphosis of the folks on the left. 00:19 If you just went back, let's say 25 years, that's really all it would take. And you look at those Democrats from 25, maybe 30 years ago, you could sit, you know, you could talk with those people. You could sit down, you might not agree with them. You could sit down and have a chat with them. 00:41 The folks on the left have gone so far left. It's unbelievable. Used to be, if you had the word communist or socialist anywhere in your biography, in your bio, that was an automatic done. No, no office, no nothing, go live your life, do whatever you're gonna do, but you're not gonna hold public office. 01:09 But then we get somebody like Bernie Sanders in there. And people are like, well, it's just crazy old Bernie. Yeah, we know he's a socialist. Yeah, we'll overlook that. But then we get AOC. 01:21 Well, she's harmed and this is really how people think, oh, she's harmless. Then we get Ayanna Pressley and Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. We get the squad in there. And people are like, yeah, but that's a... And then 25 years after 9-11, in New York City, they elect Zoran Mondani, a radical Islamist. uh 01:51 that sink in for just a second. 01:55 And then maybe you were thinking, well, that's probably as bad as the left is going to get. They can't go any more left than that. And then what did they do? They actually elect as their senatorial candidate from Maine, a man who for decades walked around with a totem cough tattoo on his chest. 02:19 A man who says he is a socialist, a man who praised, I mean, I'm just, the list goes on and on and on. Absolutely on and on and on. This is a guy who criticized heroic American soldiers. This is a guy who criticized the American sniper. This is a guy that said, know what, Hezbollah, you know, they got good tactics. 02:44 The transition of the left to the radical left has been unbelievable. It really has. now with, okay, so here's a guy, because remember the left was all about me too, hashtag me too, or as some people say, pound me too. They're all about that with Harvey Weinstein and everybody, ooh, me too, me too, me too. 03:13 They were all about believe the women, believe the women. have, oh, you have to div. They didn't believe Tara Reid when she accused Joe Biden of sexual assault. They believe none of Bill Clinton's accusers. None of them. But now you've got Graham Plattner. Listen to this. This is a woman named Jody Cantor. She's over on CNN. Listen to what she says. Well, let's talk about what they may or may not be willing to overlook. 03:42 The accusations against Graham Plattner are not classic me-too accusations. They're not about a boss and a young female employee being subjected to sexual advances. uh They were mostly made in the context of consensual relationships. There are these very sensational texts about sex. There are allegations from former girlfriends that are not, the way my colleagues reported them, were not classic. 04:12 abuse allegations. They were mostly like being his boyfriend gave me a view into him and I did not like what I saw. His character was scary. had this Nazi tattoo, etc. There was one allegation of crossing a line physically. But I think that means that these are pretty different accusations than say the that President Trump faced. And of course in the Access Hollywood tape, 04:40 President Trump. shut up. Talking about Billy Bush weekend. See, the hypocrisy of the people on the left knows no depth. They are willing to go to protect their own. They're willing to overlook all of that. I mean, all of it. All of it. They tried to say that Pete Hegseth was a womanizing drunk. Tried to say that Casper Tell was a drunkard. 05:10 We've got video of Graham Plattner in big stages of intoxication, dancing around half naked at a party. Now, nothing to see here. No, no, that's okay. ... 511 Thu, 11 Jun 2026 19:33:00 +0000 3U7wmylDUEcKGxqMNocdlsY3kpGiLWzP news The Charlie James Show Podcast news H1-S2 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. Interview with SC AG Alan Wilson full 00:08 I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. 00:35 For spacious skies, for amber waves of 00:45 For purple mountain majesties above. 01:07 share his grace on thee. 01:20 from sea to shining sea. America is back. Yes, Sarah, and we are back and we are being joined by Attorney General Alan Wilson, who is running for governor of South Carolina. General Wilson, welcome to the program. Hope you're doing well. Hey, Charlie. 01:42 Great to be back with you, man. Thanks for having me on your program. I hope you're having a great day. Absolutely. Well, I just got a little bit of a chuckle because this guy, Chris Grant, down in the low country just posted a picture of you. uh You and Mike Rickenbaugh, it's obviously AI, uh at a Trans Pride rally. Have you seen that picture? I have seen the picture. The subtly racist photo, yes. I've seen it. 02:08 Yes. mean, is that, is that the, the, you know, the, the timber of this race so far? Has it been dirty all the, all the way through? Look, um, they're going to, they're going to throw everything at me. They're claiming all these horrible things about me. They're saying I'm liberal and I'm woke. Everyone on your show who listens is too smart to fall for it. At the end of the day, this campaign, they're going to make this campaign about tearing me down. I'm going to make this campaign about building you up. And by you, I mean, the people of South Carolina. 02:36 my number one goal in everything i i want to do is governor is to make living in our state more affordable for our families to make our economy more profitable for our business and make government more accountable to the people and try that the message i'm taking around south carolina i'm not i mean look yet they're gonna hit it and the reason that they're attacking the reason they're going so low is they're seeing the same numbers that i'm saying and that's why they're going to get dirty that's going to get really deep over the next ten days so i'm bracing for it but 03:04 At the end of the day, this is about the people of South Carolina, not Alan Wilson or Pamivet. You just talked about making South Carolina more affordable at the height of the gas prices. Just weeks ago, it seems like there was a plan or some people were suggesting that we do away with uh the gas tax in South Carolina. Would you have been in favor of that? I was the first candidate for governor to call for the suspension of the gas tax, and I would even consider having a trigger. Now, obviously, we have to continue to fund 03:33 uh... construction and road transportation and things like that but we have one and a half billion dollars and the reserve fund and not my my view is is when families are hurting give them some relief uh... as much relief as you can and i think one of the things you can do is suspend the gas tax to make it a little bit better for them to come and go from their house to their office to their child soccer game and uh... and even travel obviously a permanent gas tax will require a lot more fault 04:01 But giving people 60 to 90 days is something I would be willing to do. And I called for that about two months ago. So, I mean, it is and it's affected everybody here in South Carolina. I also had a caller wanting to, a text, or wanting to know about immigration. There was a massive employment fraud ring using stolen identities. Tell us a little bit about that. How were you involved in that? Well, we led it. We led the sting about a year and a half ago. 04:29 because of the prior policies of the Biden administration. Obviously it wasn't a priority to go after these types of cases. So we had some folks in local law enforcement come to us and say, we'd like to get your help. So we started doing an investigation a year ago this fall. And we basically identified that what some ... 695 Thu, 11 Jun 2026 20:25:00 +0000 zWRSZ6ym7kUhiUBaqT9FtamXpmZtsy1X news The Charlie James Show Podcast news Interview with SC AG Alan Wilson The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. So let us know, either Pam or Alan, let us know who you would like to be the next governor. Just taking a quick look, let's do a little refresh here, see how we stand on this. It is now, it's still 95 to five. 01:05 Still 95 to five. Let's go to Everett in Spartanburg. How you doing Everett? 01:10 Charlie how you doing good man? What's up? two things Allen Wilson if he's so good How come we got so much illegal immigration and they got and they I've been fighting this no cash bond for over two years in the upstate they Hello, excuse me Hobart Lewis said they don't even arrest them They take the vehicle let them go if you do that you don't even have a record you don't know how many they are here 01:37 That's thing, we don't, we don't. I've asked several of the candidates during our Governor Series, do we have a, are we a sanctuary state? And you know, it's looking like in some cases the answer to that is yes, because we don't have, well here's what Alan Wilson wants to do. He wants to enact the 287G program, which would deputize all, you know, every member of law enforcement to be ICE agents. Now that doesn't mean we're gonna be pulling them. 02:06 off of their duties to go round up people, if they come across somebody, you see, but here's the thing Everett, that is the way the law reads. That's the way the law reads. check it out. He said one thing, he said he had reached across the aisle. The only reason I'd reach across the aisle is to grab him up by the sack of swivel. There's nothing like this. There's nothing like this. I don't know what a sack of swivel is, but I can just picture it. 02:35 Yeah, it's okay. Don't explain. Don't explain. I just want to say one other thing. Well, the war in the Strait of Hormuz today in Google News, read a Military Watch article. It'll tell you why we're losing in Iran. Thank you very much. Well, we're not losing in Iran. Sorry to... If you read that I don't need to read somebody to... I mean, I got my own eyes there. I appreciate it. We're not losing. We're not losing. 03:02 Stop that, that's anti-Trump, that's anti-American BS. We're not losing. We got more guns, we got more ammo, we got more of the big bombs than they've got. We're not losing. Sorry, we've been in control the entire time. 800, 905, 098, 9. We're getting a lot of people voting in this poll now. Listen to this, I we've got, I didn't even know this. 03:31 Do know when I found this out? It was a couple of weeks ago when we found out that our Congress, our House of Representatives in Washington, they passed a bill. Are you ready for this? This is crazy. They passed a bill to defund the Taliban. 03:53 Well, wait a minute, hold on. What are you talking about? Defund the Taliban. So if our Congress passed a bill to defund the Taliban, what does that tell you has been going on for a while now? We've been funding the Taliban. 04:14 Over in Afghanistan. 04:17 because of the abysmal and who did that? Well, that was the Biden administration with that pullout of Afghanistan. We're now funding those people. But listen to this. This is from, uh I think it's Allison in the know over at Lindale TV um talking to John Thune. Listen to this. House passed Tim Burchard's bill to div on the Taliban. I think it was 11 months ago. Every week that goes by, they get another $40 million. When can the American people expect to see a vote on this? And do you expect it to pass? 04:47 uh.. ... 438 Thu, 11 Jun 2026 21:19:00 +0000 eOBpiDvZG1vo6D4pQcr8JRXyJOikzeiP news The Charlie James Show Podcast news H3-S1 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. H3-S2 full 00:11 $630,000. That's how much Carmelo Anthony's family raised after he murdered Austin Metcalfe, stabbed this young man in the chest, and then was able to raise $630,000 for defense. 00:33 guess defense means moving into a mansion and buying a brand new Escalade. $630,000 in support of his legal... Now that was done through this website called Give Send Go. It's a fundraising app that was set up by Carmelo Anthony's mother, Kayla Hayes, started it right at the time of her son's arrest. It's kind of like GoFundMe. 01:02 However, there's a bit of a difference there that criminal cases can be used, can use the platform to fundraise. The fundraiser was supported to support pretrial needs and those funds were dispersed over last year, said uh Gibson Goh president. With the stated purpose completed, the fundraiser has been closed. The goal was to raise $1.4 million with the bulk of the money going to be going to uh use for Carmelo's legal defense. 01:32 The family's fundraising page also noted that donations would be used for their own personal needs. $630,000. 01:47 They moved into a mansion, they rented a mansion, got himself a new Escalade. And then who did they hire? They went out and they hired a lawyer. I don't know if you've heard about this guy. This guy um shook his girlfriend's baby so bad that he detached the kid's retinas. And he still got his law license. 02:12 defending Carmelo Anthony. Well, Carmelo Anthony has uh filed an appeal. I don't think he's going to win it, but he's filed an appeal. We'll see what happens. Maybe they'll reduce the sentence. Who knows? But I just saw the one young lady at know, Carmelo Anthony rally. ah It's talking about he should have killed his brother too. 02:34 And then people like Jasmine Crockett, it's just a little itty bitty knife. It wasn't a deadly weapon. It's just a little itty bitty knife. Well, apparently it was a deadly weapon because that is exactly what happened. Yeah. John said, I got a pin here. It's a deadly weapon. It was a deadly weapon. It was used to be a deadly weapon. 02:55 So they want you to think, this is what's getting me, they want you to think that Carmelo Anthony was the victim. The victim. These race hustlers out there, these professional grievance peddlers, this is a clear-cut case of violence and another opportunity to turn the perpetrator into the victim. 03:24 Austin Medcaf was a standout athlete, twin brother to Hunter, died in Hunter's arms after Anthony plunged a $13 Walmart knife with a serrated blade into his chest. 03:38 free Carmelo. Branding the verdict racist. On social media, some celebrated Austin Medcalf's death. Democrat Representative Jasmine Crockett in her podcast said that was just that black women live in daily fear that the Medcalf family could never understand. 04:02 self-defense my butt let's go to Vinnie from boiling springs how you doing Vinnie? I'm doing well Charlie. Good girl. 04:17 Good, good, good. Good, good. 04:25 the attorney that he has right now, is that by the state or is it what he's flipping? 04:35 attorneys get 60 % or 04:42 um Yeah, yo, that guy's making plenty of money. He's not doing this pro bono. Everybody's in this to make money. Everybody on that side is in it to make money. Meanwhile, Austin Medcaf's family got swatted several times. 05:05 yeah i think it's a big part of the money 05:28 Yeah. 05:32 Yeah. Yeah. But that's you know what? That is what happens. And I appreciate it, Vinny. Carmelo Anthony was a victim. The only way he was a victim. Number one, he was a victim of bad parenting. No parenting. And he was the victim of a culture that celebrates violence. That's how disagreements are handled with violence. 06:01 deadly violence. if Carmelo Anthony is a victim of anything, those are the things that he's a victim of. But this guy knew what he was doing because he even went back to his coach and he was like, I don't think I hurt him that bad. Really? He just plunged ... 431 Thu, 11 Jun 2026 21:33:00 +0000 z4LOWt0ZAM9RQNgFajO5kO08u2rrFQ87 news The Charlie James Show Podcast news H3-S2 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. H4-S1 full 00:10 Down in the low country, they've also got a runoff election between Jenny Costa Honeycutt and Mark Smith. um 00:22 All right, listen, Jenny Costa Honeycutt, and by the way, she demands that you call her Jenny Costa Honeycutt. This is a woman that when a tough vote comes up on county council, she leaves the room. Oh, oh, I'm sorry, I gotta go to the bathroom. And then she'll leave and come back when the vote's over. I hope this woman loses to Mark Smith down in the low country. I really do. She just put out an ad. 00:52 You want to talk about tone deaf. Absolute tone deaf ad this woman put out. In this ad, she's out on her big old center console boat doing some shrimping in the backwater. Show her at her multi-milli- her parents, guess, multi-million dollar mansion. 01:17 stone work around the pool right there on one of the creeks in the low country. Then there's her surfing. I tell you what, I can't relate to any of that. I hope Mark Smith wins that thing. Oh my goodness, I really do. That woman, no, she is in it just for, she's in it just to be in it. And I'll just be honest with you. She just. 01:47 in it to be in it. That is the most tone deaf ad that I've ever seen in my life. It really is bad. I mean, I could not imagine standing there at the gas pump watching that those dollars go up. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. And then seeing that ad from Jenny Costa, honey cut. Oh brother. No, no, no, no, no. And I'll tell you what, some of these, some of it's all about an ego trip for so many of these people. It's just a big ego trip. 02:17 is pretty amazing it really is alright well speaking of ego trips you've got graham plattner this is a guy and i you to listen what he said listen to what he said about republicans as your campaign and working to figure out what an opposition file with any additional allegations might have in it do you know that on your end of the thought about it oh thought about extensively i think it's been i've lived my life i was there the whole time 02:45 ah Much of the allegations that have come out as of late are literally just lies. Hour 2 full 00:00 I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. 00:28 for amber waves of grain, for purple mountain majesties. 00:59 share his grace on thee. 01:09 When 01:12 from sea to shining sea. America is back. Yes, sir. And we are back and we are being joined by Attorney General Alan Wilson, who is running for governor of South Carolina. Attorney General Wilson, welcome to the program. Hope you're doing well. Hey, Charlie. 01:35 Great to be back with you, man. Thanks for having me on your program. I hope you're having a great day. Absolutely. Well, I just got a little bit of a chuckle because this guy, Chris Grant, down in the low country just posted a picture of you. You and Mike Rickenbaugh, it's obviously AI, uh at a Trans Pride rally. Have you seen that picture? I have seen the picture. The subtly racist photo, yes. I've seen it. 02:00 Yes. mean, is that, is that the, the, you know, the, the timber of this race so far? Has it been dirty all the, all the way through? Look, um, they're going to, they're going to throw everything at me. They're claiming all these horrible things about me. They're saying I'm liberal and I'm woke. Everyone on your show who listens is too smart to fall for it. At the end of the day, this campaign, they're going to make this campaign about tearing me down. I'm going to make this campaign about building you up. And by you, I mean, the people of South Carolina. 02:28 my number one goal in everything i thought i want to do is governor is to make living in our state more affordable for our families to make our economy more profitable for our business and make government more accountable to the people and try that the message i'm taking around south carolina i'm not i mean look yet they're gonna hit it and the reason that they're attacking the reason they're going so low is they're seeing the same numbers that i'm saying and that's why they're going to get dirty that's going to get really deep over the next ten days so i'm bracing for it but 02:56 At the end of the day, this is about the people of South Carolina, not Alan Wilson or Pamivet. Now, obviously, we have to continue to fund 03:25 uh... construction and road transportation and things like that but we have one and a half billion dollars and the reserve fund and not my my view is is when families are hurting give them some relief uh... as much relief as you can and i think one of the things you can do is suspend the gas tax to make it a little bit better for them to come and go from their house to their office to their child soccer game and uh... and even travel obviously a permanent gas tax will require a lot more fault 03:54 But giving people 60 to 90 days is something I would be willing to do. And I called for that about two months ago. So, I mean, it is and it's affected everybody here in South Carolina. I also had a caller wanting to or a text or wanting to know about uh immigration. There was a massive employment fraud ring using stolen identities. Tell us a little bit about that. How were you involved in that? Well, you know, we led it. We led the sting about a year and a half ago. 04:22 because of the prior policies of the Biden administration. Obviously it wasn't a priority to go after these types of cases. So we had some folks at the, you know, in local law enforcement come to us and say, we'd like to get your help. So we started doing an investigation a year ago this fall. And we basica ... 2009 Thu, 11 Jun 2026 21:04:00 +0000 uBAhvYzFUN8DSCZaKB5Nv1ZQBrqUzY4i news The Charlie James Show Podcast news Hour 2 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. Hour 2 full 00:10 I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. 00:37 Spacious skies for amber waves of 00:47 For purple mountain majesties. 01:09 share his grace on thee. 01:18 When 01:22 from and we are back and let's go to the phones and talk to michael in greenville michael how are you how are you doing and i'm doing fantastic what's up so my question is are they going to have like early voting for the runoff and if so where would it be a because uh... probably won't be around 01:52 during that time period. Okay. um I heard that there was going to be early voting, but from what I heard, that was going to start on, you know what? I'm not going to give you that information because I don't have anything confirmed about that, Michael, but I don't want you to to confuse you. So I'm going to look into that further and I will certainly let you know here on the radio whether or not they're going to be doing the early voting and when that's going to start. 02:17 That sounds good. Thank you, sir. You have a good appreciate it, Michael. Thank you. I did look over on SC Votes and I don't see anything about it right now. If you guys could let me know, I can only imagine how many people are texting me right now, but I can't log into the texting box there. Let's go to Celeste and Inman. Celeste, what's going on? Hey, Charlie. I was texting you, but you can't read my text. I can't read your text. What's up? That's all right. So I just want to say that I don't agree with you. 02:47 Romney campaign really disappointed me for five and a half weeks. have been emailing the campaign, their lead campaign person to get signage, big yard signs to put on all our company trucks because we roll up and down 26 and 85 from Anderson up to rock Hill to give him a look. You know, people driving the highways all day long and we didn't get those signs till this Sunday at three o'clock. 03:18 And I'm like, you guys, I don't know if he's got young people running, you know, the campaign. I don't know, but it was really, our whole family voted for him. And I just felt like they dropped the ball. That's interesting. gravity of it. Yeah. That's interesting. mean, but what the parameter that I was using, this is a guy that nobody had ever heard of, wasn't in politics. And he comes along and he does what he does in this race. I thought that was pretty admirable, but- Oh yeah. 03:47 And his... wanted to help them. Do I We wanted to help. And that's the thing. But it's weird because when you get some of these political consultants here, some of them only believe in television. Some only believe in radio. Some believe in a mixture. Some believe in billboards. Some believe in yard signs. Some believe in door knocking. It's just whatever their political philosophy is um as to how they win races. So that's very interesting. 04:14 I mean, the signage does work. I did see a lot of ROM ready signs out there. So maybe more. well, we wanted to throw them on the highways so that everyone would see them or these trucks are all over the place. And that's the thing. When you're doing a campaign, you need to help the people that want to help you. 04:31 right. I did. I kept telling them, all these kids, I'm like, come on, let's go guys. Let's get on it. Give me those signs. And we never heard. So here we are. But we love your show. Thank you, Charlie. Thank you, Celeste. I appreciate it. Everett is in Spartanburg. Everett, what's on your mind? How are you doing, Charlie? Doing good, man. As far as the attorney general, I don't know if you, in Spartanburg, the city was short, 17 officers. The county, they've gotten rid of all the 05:00 A lot of their officers, entire state has pushed this oh crime is down. Ain't no way Charlie, I watch your news. There's murder. That's just the tri-upstate here. H1-S1 full 00:03 All right. Welcome to the program on your Wednesday afternoon. It has been quite the interesting day, ladies and gentlemen. Of course, last night we had all of the election returns come in. A few surprises there. I would love to know what you think. I'm not going to be able to access the text line for a few minutes today uh because I have no phone. 00:33 and we have the two factor authentication to get in on the text line. And my phone is kaput due to an accident earlier today. now I go get a new phone tonight and it's gonna be just a giant pain in the rear end. But um there you go. um We'll get into it as soon as possible and I'll be able to read your text. Other than that, the WRD Talkline 800 01:00 oh 9050, 98.9. Of course, we all know that uh Alan Wilson and Pam LeVitt are going to be going to a runoff in that race. was, that's kind of the way that this whole thing really started a little bit. Now, Pam LeVitt started off uh kind of slow, but picked up because, you know, she got the momentum. And of course, the endorsement from President Trump, that helped her as well. 01:30 um But Pamela Vett getting 28.86 % of the vote. Excuse me, Alan Wilson getting 26.15 of the vote. So they will be going on to a runoff. There is going to be a runoff debate coming up on June 26th at seven o'clock at Coastal Carolina. uh Alan Wilson and Pamela Vett are going to be there in that race. 01:56 Rom Reddy who made him and he made a really big splash. If you look at that how well he did 14.16 percent. As I said last night as we were broadcasting from the foundry at Judson Mill. He ran a very good campaign. mean Wesley Donahue. Was a pretty good choice. I mean you got to give credit where credit is due. Nancy Mase coming in at 12 percent Ralph Norman at 17.08 percent. 02:25 Um, so we will see how that goes. Um, she's still clinging and rightfully so, uh, to the endorsement from president Trump, but is that going to help her in this race? That's going to be the big question because a lot more people understand this. A lot more people did not vote for Nan for Pamela vet than voted for. And the same can be said for Alan Wilson as well. So it's going to be who 02:54 Where do the Nancy Mace voters go? Where do the Ralph Norman voters go? Where do the Rom Ready voters go? Now I know the Nancy Mace has endorsed uh Alan Wilson. I heard some rumors and I didn't get anything confirmed on this about Rom Ready. Is he going with Alan Wilson or Pamela Vett? You guys let me know. I wish you could do it on the text line, but I just don't have access to that right now. Some other races that we're looking at. 03:22 Now this one is the attorney general race. This one is something that we're really gonna have to dig into. Because the big question has been, where did Stephen Goldfinch come from? I mean, yeah, he's been in the Senate for a long time, but this is a guy that if you asked anybody about his name, I doubt anybody could be able to tell you who he was. 03:50 But there he is actually getting 39.99 % of the vote. David Stumbo getting 35.66. David Pasco coming up uh in the rear here at 24.34%. So Stephen Goldfence, David Stumbo will be going to a runoff in that case. Then we go down, then we got the case of all the people we liked. I mean, you really, if you looked at that race for uh ag commissioner, 04:19 I mean, there wasn't a soul in that race where you went, man, I don't like that guy. We had some good, good candidates. Danny Ford, Danny Lee Ford and Cody Simpson. Yeah, going to a runoff in that one. Cody Simpson getting 38.14 % of the vote. Danny Ford getting 37.25. So they will also be headed for a runoff. Lindsey Graham winning this one pretty easily at 56.79 % of the vote. 04:48 Mark Lynch coming in with a respectable, a very respectable 28.89 % of the vote. Now one of the big, one of the really good things about last night is this voter turnout. 25.28%. That's a good voter turnout. That really is. Hour 3 full 00:08 What is going on in England, Ireland, and Scotland is absolutely hideous. Absolutely hideous. We had that young Novak kid that was stabbed by a Sikh over in England. He's just on his way home, stabbed by a Sikh who carried a ceremonial blade. Now, here's the thing. 00:38 Knives are illegal in England. 00:43 They have knife laws like they want to have gun laws. And you take a look at the whole Austin Metcalf, Carmelo Anthony thing. 00:54 Knives are dangerous when in the wrong hands. And especially they're dangerous to people who do not have knives themselves. 01:06 He was stabbed to death. Novak was. Then you got this other guy. Over in Northern Belfast, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, there was a man who literally, the mainstream media tried to label it as a knife attack, but it was so much more than a knife attack. 01:32 This guy was trying to behead this man, to literally cut his head off in the middle of the street. 01:42 And the mainstream media over in England are like, well, it's a knife attack. A little bit, a lot more than just a knife attack. 01:53 and people are getting sick and tired of it. Over there. 02:00 Because you see, they are trying what is called multiculturalism. And multiculturalism demands one thing. One thing. 02:17 different laws for different culture. 02:23 different laws for different cultures and that never works out. 02:31 never works out. 02:35 And there are people out there that have been standing up and they're still standing up and I'm telling you what, it's gotta come to an end. 02:46 There is no way that you can take literal third world people and put them in the first world and expect them to thrive. 02:55 You just can't. It never works out. But it never works out for the people, for the citizens. Because the third world class, they're the protected class over there. You can't even, if you are, so I saw a meme today and it's absolutely right. What to do if you're going to be beheaded. Step number one, don't be racist. 03:25 Step number two, don't be Islamophobic. Step number three, patiently wait for the police to come and arrest you. Step number four, do not react in anger. Use the incident to bring us all together. Novak was the victim of a stabbing and the police arrested him while he was bleeding to death on the ground. 03:51 I've been stabbed. I don't think you have, mate. I don't think you have, mate. That ought to be a famous, famous meme. I don't think you have, mate. 04:01 but he had been and he died. There's a little thing called the first follower. This was made famous by a Ted Talk by a guy named Derek Sievers and he goes like this. You get a lead in it's from a Ted Talk called How to Start a Movement. So first of all, you get a leader. You get a leader. Now that leader puts himself in great danger. He takes a huge risk. They put themselves out there and 04:29 A lot of times they're made to look foolish. 04:33 But then the important part happens. Then you get the first follower. Now the first follower, that's the crucial turning point because by joining the leader, what they actually show is other people how to participate. They actually transform the leader, the lone leader from a lone individual into the start of a movement. And then you get the early followers, additional people join. Social proof develops, the movement gains legitimacy. 05:03 Then you go from the leader, the first follower, the easy follow, the early followers to the crowd. Once enough people start to participate, joining becomes the norm, it's normal, or it's a safe choice. Then momentum takes over. But that first leader is vital because it validates the leader's ideas, it reduces the perceived risk for others, it creates a model for participation, and it helps convert an individual act into a group activity. 05:33 We are now at the end of the first follower stage over in England, Ireland and Scotland, over in Great Britain. Now we're entering into the early ... 1806 Wed, 10 Jun 2026 22:05:00 +0000 zrECIVLqqCI973n4giEGqYnkMdao8XLg news The Charlie James Show Podcast news Hour 3 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. Hour 4 full 00:04 Alright, let's go to Larry in Greenwood. How you doing, Larry? 00:11 Fantastic, what's up buddy? 00:47 Yeah, but I mean, one of the, but you got to look at one of the reasons that because all the Democrats, mean, every single week they try to put up this, this legislation to pull them out of Iran. He's got to, he's got to weigh all of the diplomatic options. But I think with the attack on the Apache helicopter this past couple of days, I think that might've done it. And hopefully so. Another thing I was going to touch base on, you know, America, 01:17 but i really want to know i was in for work to be a career vietnam uh... are and i have been a standout was tired of the time of the political war tonight if you don't really want to lose his presidency and he's a good one i really have enough me i'm going to tell i want to know if you're not with the film you know that there's no surrender that's in here is a fine window time to be done with it and then and then you know if i had a lot of work the black and white war 01:56 I agree Larry. I agree. You're right about that. I appreciate it, buddy. And one of the things that we have found out recently, there's like a hundred billion dollars going to Iran when this thing is over to rebuild. No. I would vote no for that. 02:15 I would make Iran rebuild themselves. They've got the oil. And by the way, I didn't even know this, but we have apparently been taking oil out of Iran every single week. uh Did you guys know that? No, I did not know that. um But right now, the US is striking Iran. That has began ah countless reports of explosions in Iranian cities. Let's see. 02:44 One person is, there is some, there are some people out there saying that the fifth fleet, the U.S. fifth fleet base in Bahrain was struck there, not the fifth fleet itself, but the base. Iran promised a definitive response and this might be what they're talking about. So we'll see what happens with that. But we've been, we've been taking oil out of Iran. Let's just take a listen. This is what President Trump said today. 03:11 that hold on here we go down between now when the war is over yes it's coming down I know you can it's going to come down like a rock and oh again we're taking out millions which I'm just announcing today for the first time but we've been taking out millions of barrels of oil millions of barrels every night to get oil but now I'm gonna 03:40 tell you because they just figured it out. So now that they figured it out, can tell you. It was very hard for me. I wanted to say it so badly, but it was... I didn't want to ruin it, but it was very hard. But millions of barrels of oil has come out. That's why it's at $85, $90 a barrel instead of $250. But we have... 04:01 The greatest military in the world, the toughest military in the world, just the best in every way, nobody even close. There's no military that's even close. I rebuilt it during my first term. I'm using it now. When this conflict is over, Todd said, please go to conflict, right? As opposed to the word war. He didn't like the word war, but it's sort of a conflict. It's a military operation. When it's over, you will see oil drop to where it was before. 04:31 Okay. And hopefully so. Hopefully so. Let's go to Robert in Mills River. Robert, welcome. How are you doing today, Charlie? I'm good, man. What's up? Well, the failure in, I think, Massachusetts or whoever that had the swastika on is... I've been Maine. Maine. Maine. Yeah. I knew it was up there close somewhere. I worked in Vermont and it's very pretty there in the... 04:58 Fowl, probably prettier here in the Fowl. It's beautiful. But I can't describe it. But I'm telling you, he does not deserve no nothing. He ought be out there right now. I even know what's happening. But here's the thing, Robert. H4-S2 full 00:00 I just got the phones are taught at Gerald in Kalpins. Gerald, what's going on my man? Hey now Charlie, if we're taking millions of gallons of oil out of Iran, where's it going? It's going on the market. It's going to where it was supposed to go to begin with. That's why, that's why, like President Trump said, oil has been uh below or right at $90 a barrel right now. All right. Appreciate you buddy. My pal, thank you very much. We were in 00:29 Basically, we've been oil smugglers. the United States, we've been smuggling oil out of Iran. So John, okay, let me tell you what happened today. It's been a very hectic day. 00:40 Because we depend on our phones. 00:44 probably a lot more than we realize. So here at work, we've got a two-factor authentication system to where I put in my email address, I put in my password, and then the system will send me um a message and I click yes, it's just making sure that I am who I say I am, and for that I need my phone. I did not have my phone today. I have not had my phone since 10 o'clock this morning. 01:14 So John was asking me, Charlie, the $64,000 question is, what happened to your phone? Well, it's kind of an embarrassing story. 01:34 After the election night last night, it was a long night, got home, went to bed late. I decided I was going to get up this morning, I was going to treat myself to an early morning round of golf. Okay? Went out there, cheat off at eight o'clock, made the turn. I completed nine holes, went to the 10th hole, hit a fantastic drive on the 10th hole. But on the 10th hole at Carolina Springs, we've got a big pond on the left. 02:04 and a little pond on the right, and there's a walkway going between the two ponds. This pond had about an inch and a half of standing water because of all the rain that we've had. Yesterday we had a lot of rain. uh The ponds had filled up. There's about an inch and a half of standing water, and the ponds had actually connected there. They were overflowing the walkway. It was overflowing the walkway, but it's about an inch and a half. So I've got an electric car. 02:35 and I just, I hit the button on the electric cart and it's motoring through the water. I've done this, I've done this a hundred times in the past when the water gets high. So I'm walking and I'm wearing waterproof shoes. So that's not a problem. So I'm just kind of wading through the water behind my cart and my cart takes a hard left turn. No reason whatsoever. It just goes hard to the left. 03:06 Well, I go to grab my cart. So I step to the left. Well, guess what? There was no left. There was no walkway. Where I stepped, there was no walkway. So the cart goes in the water. The phone goes in the water. Charlie goes in the water. I am absolutely, up to my, literally up to my neck in the pond at the golf course. 03:33 Idiots I'm playing with, they're laughing their heads off about this thing. And I'm halfway laughing about it. Nobody's trying to help me just yet. Somebody said, need video. Stacey Bartrow said, we need video. So I'm there. Not only am I in the water, now I'm trying to get out of the water. The cart has been caught up in a rope that was under the water. I'm trying to pull myself out, trying to pull the cart out, finally got everything out. I am absolutely drenched. I'm sloshing everywhere I walk. 04:03 turned my bag upside down, it must have had five gallons of water in it, it was just that full, everything went in the pond, and that's what happened to my phone. So I thought, just like everybody, because I bet you what you guys are saying right now, you're saying, well Charlie, you should have put that phone in a bag of rice. Aha, yes, you're exactly right. I should have put that phone in a bag of rice. 04:31 And when I got home, did put that phone in a bag of rice because, by the way, I didn't think the phone was damaged because the inside of the, um I guess it's the zippered compartment on the bag, that was relatively d ... 506 Wed, 10 Jun 2026 22:33:00 +0000 4hxViLz380n4UmFaWcYXZrFVPzwzxVMf news The Charlie James Show Podcast news H4-S2 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. H1-S2 full 00:00 you 00:13 All welcome back to the program. Let's go to the WRD talk line. We'll talk to Robert in Blue Ridge. How you doing, Doing well, how are you? I'm great. What's up, man? 00:24 i'm hearing lindsey graham spent eighteen million and advertising to get a job that's going to play one hundred and seventy four thousand dollars a year can you please explain that made because i just can't agree that don't make a whole lot of sense does it that doesn't seem like a good return on investment to me i in fact i heard it was more like i was saying one per one person said they do you spend twenty seven million 00:49 I that's a lot of money. I can't buy them, Liz. I can't either. I appreciate it, Robert. Thank you very, very much. But you folks in Greenville and Spartanburg, and my listeners here, you can take something away from this, that you were the only folks in the state of South Carolina to say no to Lindsey Graham. You said, nah, baby, nah. We don't want your 01:19 Little Mermaid, Bubble Wand, Toton Self to be our Senator. In Spartanburg County, Mark Lynch won with 43 % of the vote. Lindsey Graham got 41. Greenville County, Mark Lynch got 44.89 % of the vote. Lindsey Graham got 40 % of the vote. Lindsey won in every, let me just, oh, yeah, look at this. 01:43 Yeah, Lindsey Graham winning big down in Charleston. You go to Berkeley County, Lindsey Graham winning huge there. Let's go to Lexington County, Lindsey Graham winning big there, 61%. Richland County, 63%. Let's just take a look. I mean, just go up to Cherokee. Lindsey got 52. Pickens County. Wait, this is what gets me. Pickens County. 02:11 You guys showed up and booed Lindsey Graham practically off the stage. 02:18 Right there in downtown Pickens. 02:24 And then you turn around and vote for them with 45 % of the vote. I don't get it. don't get it. Oconee County, Lindsay 51%, York County, 48, Lancaster County, 61%. I don't get it. I promise you, I don't get that. I really don't. We need change. Well, just vote for the same old guy. We appreciate that. So, I mean, that to me. 02:54 That to me is amazing. It really is. So we got six more years of Lindsey Graham, eight actually, um so to speak. Well, six and a half. um 03:08 More years of Lindy Graham. 03:12 And as much as he has, and I can't understand why people can't see it when he does it. That's the only thing. Maybe people aren't just paying attention. But Lindsey Graham will stab Donald Trump in the back. He did it just a few weeks ago with the Iran deal. Talking about how the Iran deal was bad and was going to be a victory for the Iranians. And even Donald Trump had to come out with a statement saying, you people don't even know what the deal is and you're out there talking bad about it. 03:43 If Lindsey Graham 03:47 were in any other position in the Senate, I don't think Trump would have endorsed him. I really don't. I don't think Trump would have endorsed him. But right now he's head of the Budget Committee, and he will probably be once again head of the Senate Judiciary Committee. um If he beats Dr. Annie Andrews, we'll see. But Lindsey Graham right now to Donald Trump is a necessary evil. 04:15 And I'm going to stick by my prediction that he wins this thing in November. He's going to turn on Trump. Let's go to Doug in Simpsonville. Doug, welcome. Hey, nice talking to you again. I just want to thank Word 98.9 because I think if it wasn't for you guys, ah Lindsey would have won in Greenville. ah Maybe. 04:44 You've been putting out the word, uh well, literally. anyway, I just wanted to give a tip to the hat to the whole team. Well, I appreciate that. Thank you. I wish you covered all of South Carolina. And I know some callers have come in and said, hey, King, just uh link your coverage to some other cell towers or something. I wish it was an easy solution. uh 05:14 hey i have i have disagreements with you sometimes with care etc but i'm nine percent of the issues uh... uh the ... 581 Wed, 10 Jun 2026 19:33:00 +0000 kzYxxHikjOv3kjk0Pw8cJbHLjFSJSkPg news The Charlie James Show Podcast news H1-S2 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. H3-S2 full 00:05 i had a show the phones are taught to fill in campbell oh how you doing phil i'm good uh... let me add a step six of what you were talking about okay i'm you're heavily armed and more than happy to use it heavily armed and happy to go yet be exactly right what i want to call about and they set the stage okay 00:27 for just a minute if you don't mind. Let me set stage. Remember when Bill Clinton balanced the budget? Yes, I do. the money out of He stole the money out of it. So security... That's right. They raided it. I think you said about a month ago it came out they were looking at $10 billion, the crooks in Columbia, to build them a palace down there. Yeah. wanted to... Excuse me. They wanted to it out of the retirement system. Listen. 00:57 There's a lot of people in that police retirement, state retirement. Yeah. Those people put their life on the line every single day for 35 years. And I'm telling the boys in Columbia, you keep your grubby little hands in your pockets. If you reach out and touch this money, there's an army going to show up in Columbia and they ain't coming empty handed. They ain't carrying no damn roses. There you go. I agree, Phil. that's it. They figure all the money. 01:24 This is literally how they think in Columbia. All the money is their money. And it doesn't matter if it's your retirement, doesn't matter if it's your pension, doesn't matter. If it's money that they can get their hands on, then they're gonna get their hands on it. That seems to be their only goal in life, especially over in the Senate. 01:52 Now, Curtis Loftus explained how this works very eloquently. was at a dinner with him one night and he said, here's how it works. Because I asked him, said, how, if these people can't have access to that money and that money, they can't just take the money out to benefit themselves. How does that work? He said, let me tell you, let me tell you how that works. Let's say that you are a state senator and one of your jobs is to, or let's say you're a treasurer. 02:22 And one of your jobs is to say we got a fund in Columbia and in that fund is just four numbers here. It's a million dollar fund. It's got a million dollars in it and your job is to take that money and invest it. Do you know how many people come to you every single day and say, hey, Mr. Treasurer, ah I got a hedge fund over here. We were doing really well. We would love for you. 02:52 to give us the money in that fund and we will invest in our, we'll put it in our hedge fund and boy, you're gonna get a lot of great returns on that. Do you know how many people do that? A lot of people, it happens every day. So then you think, well, wait a minute, that money is still the state's money, how does that benefit the treasurer or whoever's in charge of that fund? Well, it goes like this. And by the way, if you, 03:21 invest in our fund, I've got a friend and that friend has a position open on their board of directors. It pays pretty well. You've got a son, don't you? You've got a daughter. You've got a wife or a husband. Would they like that seat on the board of directors? Why, yes, I would. Yes, they would. 03:51 Now it doesn't require any work. All they got to do is show up maybe once a quarter and vote however they want to vote. But you know, it pays pretty good. That's how it gets done. How it gets done every single day here in South Carolina. Every single day they're always hammering. are people, if there is money somewhere, somebody wants it. Somebody wants it because by the way, their fee for controlling those funds is pretty significant. Let's go to Larry in Cleveland County. Larry, welcome. 04:20 a car i don't know i'm good but what's going on and let me know what i to point out that will grow the way that was just here where they were there you know as a risk right did you hear that they let him off the hook because i'm confident that well uh... so here's what they're doing that taking this guy and ... 382 Wed, 10 Jun 2026 21:33:00 +0000 2TOSHlwtR9Pt0flPPHnxULonDw4Nl1df news The Charlie James Show Podcast news H3-S2 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. H3-S1 full 00:13 What is going on in England, Ireland, and Scotland is absolutely hideous. Absolutely hideous. We had that young Novak kid that was stabbed by a Sikh over in England. He's just on his way home, stabbed by a Sikh who carried a ceremonial blade. Now, here's the thing. 00:43 Knives are illegal in England. 00:47 They have knife laws like they want to have gun laws. And you take a look at the whole Austin Metcalf, Carmelo Anthony thing. 00:59 Knives are dangerous when in the wrong hands. And especially they're dangerous to people who do not have knives themselves. 01:11 He was stabbed to death. Novak was. Then you got this other guy over in Northern Belfast, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, there was a man who literally the mainstream media tried to label it as a knife attack, but it was so much more than a knife attack. This guy was trying to behead this man. 01:42 to literally cut his head off in the middle of the street. 01:47 And the mainstream media over in England are like, well, it's a knife attack. A little bit, lot more than just a knife attack. 01:57 and people are getting sick and tired of it. Over there. 02:05 Because you see, they are trying what is called multiculturalism. Step number three, patiently wait for the police to come and arrest you. Step number four, do not react in anger. Use the incident to bring us all together. Novak was the victim of a stabbing and the police arrested him while he was bleeding to death on the ground. 03:55 I've been stabbed. I don't think you have, mate. I don't think you have, mate. That ought to be a famous, famous meme. I don't think you have, mate. 04:06 but he had been and he died. There's a little thing called the first follower. This was made famous by a Ted Talk by a guy named Derek Severs and he goes like this. You get a lead in it's from a Ted Talk called How to Start a Movement. So first of all, you get a leader. You get a leader. Now that leader puts himself in great danger. He takes a huge risk. They put themselves out there and a lot of times they're made to look foolish. 04:38 But then the important part happens. Then you get the first follower. Now the first follower, that's the crucial turning point because by joining the leader, what they actually show is other people how to participate. They actually transform the leader, the lone leader from a lone individual into the start of a movement. And then you get the early followers, additional people join, social proof develops, the movement gains legitimacy. 05:08 Then you go from the leader, the first follower, the easy follow, the early followers to the crowd. Once enough people start to participate, joining becomes the norm. It's normal or it's a safe choice. Then momentum takes over. But that first leader is vital because it validates the leader's ideas. It reduces the perceived risk for others. It creates a model for participation and it helps convert an individual act into a group activity. 05:38 We are now at the end of the first follower stage over in England, Ireland and Scotland, over in Great Britain. Now we're entering into the early followers. We've ... 501 Wed, 10 Jun 2026 21:19:00 +0000 7DDYrBT37J33MKOPgrSP01m68FWO4JgE news The Charlie James Show Podcast news H3-S1 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. H2-S2 full 00:06 One of the surprising races last night had to do with Luke Rankin losing to Rick Shealy. And uh that surprised a lot of people. I want to talk to Nick because I'll be honest with you. um I know so little about Rick Shealy. We've got Nick on the line. Nick, tell me about Rick Shealy. So I've known Rick Shealy for 10 years as me being involved in the Republican Party. Rick is an unbelievable guy. 00:35 He's incredibly humble. He is going to be a strong conservative down in Columbia. He's been our EC for a few years and he's always pushed to close the primaries, always try to keep South Carolina first in the South. Just really just an all around great guy. Because you see, I was looking at his website this afternoon and the last paragraph is, Rick believes that Columbia needs leaders who remember who they work for. 01:04 and he's committed to serving as a true advocate for his community. Well, when you get to Columbia, they make no bones about it. When you get there, you have to forget who you work for and you work for leadership. 01:19 Well, that's exactly the reason why that the current representative got voted out because he pretty much sold House 614 out to trial lawyers. So I mean, you know, when we get people like Mike Kasky telling Sarita Edgerton things like, nobody reads these bills, I mean, you're just supposed to go along and vote however leadership tells you to. Is that the kind of person Rick Shealy is going to be? No, he is not going to be that type of person. Rick Shealy, 01:49 will be will will do his homework he will read the bills and if it's and if he thinks it's a good bill he's going to vote for it but if he thinks it's a terrible bill he will vote again he will vote against it so what is it what is it about rick shilley do you think the voters really um... or was it about luke rankin was it more a anti luke rankin vote or was it more of a pro rick shilley it was a mixture of both when people got to talk with rick 02:17 they could tell that he was a sincere he was a humble guy somebody that you could like have a talk with that i usually like that help people usually you like to have politics usually you like to have guys that you could both go to church with but also could like hang out with the watch and watch a football game yeah and rick came across like that lucrake it did not come across like that lucrake it came across as pompous arrogant and just just overall just 02:45 really it kind of seemed like that he just looked down on the people of Lawrence County while he was representing them and just hanging out with all the big wigs and people like Charleston and Columbia and Greenville and really just it felt like that we just were forgotten during his leadership or during his time as a representative. All right. Well, I appreciate it, Nick. Thank you very much. Now, there was also that little bit of a confusion about Luke Rankin. 03:15 because Lou Crankin, again, the state representative Lou Crankin, he's got a 40, his freedom index score is 40%. I had him at purple. But there's another Lou Crankin. And the other day, Ron Reddy sent out a mailer or a flyer about how we've got to get rid of Lou Crankin, but he did not specify which Lou Crankin. 03:42 So if you took Luke Rankin, the state representative, according to his freedom index score, he's kind of middle of the road, and you compare him with the absolutely dreadful, hideous Senator Luke Rankin, who is nothing but a rhino, 04:02 I think some people got confused on that pretty well. So maybe just for future reference, if you've got the same name as a horrible state senator, maybe think about using your middle name. You know what I mean? Maybe just think about changing something up in your campaign so that you are not confused. 04:27 I would love to get Rick Shealy on the program. I'd love to talk to him to find out what his plans are over in the 14th ah because that's important. You folks in Lawrence, you need rep ... 436 Wed, 10 Jun 2026 20:33:00 +0000 r45amLzPlWn2hCghDL6TwyqMOO6Bfmqm news The Charlie James Show Podcast news H2-S2 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. H2-S1 full 00:02 I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. 00:29 For spacious skies, for amber waves of... 00:39 For purple mountain majesties. 01:01 share his grace on thee. 01:14 from sea to shining sea. America is back. Yes sir. And we are back. Let's go to the phones. We'll talk to Michael in Greenville. Michael, how are you? Good. How are you doing today? I'm doing fantastic. What's up? So my question is, are they going to have like early voting for the runoff? And if so, where would it be at? Because I'll probably won't be around. 01:44 during that time period. Okay. um I heard that there was going to be early voting, but from what I heard, that was going to start on, you know what? I'm not going to give you that information because I don't have anything confirmed about that, Michael, but I don't want you to to confuse you. So I'm going to look into that further and I will certainly let you know here on the radio whether or not they're going to be doing the early voting and when that's going to start. 02:09 That sounds good. So I just want to... 02:38 say that I don't agree with you. Romery campaign really disappointed me for five and a half weeks. have been emailing the campaign, their lead campaign person to get signage, big yard signs to put on all our company trucks because we roll up and down 26 and 85 from Anderson up to rock Hill to give him a look. You know, people driving the highways all day long and we didn't get those signs till this Sunday. 03:07 at really a clock. I like you guys I don't know if he's got young people running you know the campaign I don't know but it was really our whole family voted for him and I just felt like they dropped the ball. That's interesting that the gravity of it yeah it's interesting I mean but what the parameter that I was using what this was is a guy that nobody ever heard of. 03:31 wasn't in politics and he comes along and he does what he does in this race. I thought that was pretty admirable. Oh yeah. But we wanted to help him. Do I We wanted to help. And that's the thing. But it's weird because when you get some of these political consultants here, some of them only believe in television, some only believe in radio, some believe in a mixture, some believe in billboards, some believe in yard signs, some believe in door knocking. It's just whatever their political philosophy is. 04:00 as to how they they win races so that's that's very interesting but that's the I mean the signage does work I I did see a lot of rom ready signs out there so maybe more. well we wanted to throw them on the highways so that everyone would see them or these trucks are all over the place. And that's the thing when when you're doing a campaign you need to help the people that want to help you. Yeah right I did I kept telling them all these kids I'm like come on let's go guys let's 04:28 get on it, give me those signs and we never heard. here we are. The county, they've gotten rid of all the, a lot of their officers. The entire state has, 04:57 Push this, uh, crime is down. Ain't no way Charlie. I watch your news. Hour 1 full 00:06 All right, welcome to the program on your Wednesday afternoon. It has been quite the interesting day, ladies and gentlemen. Of course, last night we had all of the election returns come in. A few surprises there. I would love to know what you think. I'm not going to be able to access the text line for a few minutes today because I have no phone. 00:36 and we have the two factor authentication to get in on the text line. And my phone is kaput due to an accident earlier today. So now I gotta go get a new phone tonight and it's gonna be just a giant pain in the rear end. But there you go. um We'll get into it as soon as possible and I'll be able to read your text. Other than that, the WRD Talkline 800 01:04 9050, 98.9. Of course, we all know that Alan Wilson and Pam LeVitt are going to be going to a runoff in that race. was, that's kind of the way that this whole thing really started a little bit. Now, Pam LeVitt started off kind of slow, but picked up because, you know, she got the momentum. And of course, the endorsement from President Trump, that helped her as well. 01:33 But Pamela Vett getting 28.86 % of the vote. Excuse me, Allen Wilson getting 26.15 % of the vote. So they will be going on to a runoff. There is going to be a runoff debate coming up on June 26th at seven o'clock at Coastal Carolina. Allen Wilson and Pamela Vett are going to be there in that race. 01:58 Rom Reddy who made him and he made a really big splash. you look at that how well he did 14.16 percent. As I said last night as we were broadcasting from the foundry at Judson Mill. He ran a very good campaign. mean Wesley Donahue. I was a pretty good choice. I mean you got to give credit where credit is due. Nancy Mase coming in at 12 percent Ralph Norman at 17.08 percent. 02:28 Um, so we will see how that goes. So it's going to be who 02:57 Where do the Nancy Mace voters go? Where do the Ralph Norman voters go? Where do the Rom Ready voters go? Now I know that Nancy Mace has endorsed ah Alan Wilson. I heard some rumors and I didn't get anything confirmed on this about Rom Ready. Is he going with Alan Wilson or Pamela Vett? You guys let me know. I wish you could do it on the text line, but I just don't have access to that right now. Some other races that we're looking at. 03:24 Now this one is the attorney general race. This one is something that we're really gonna have to dig into. Because the big question has been, where did Stephen Goldfinch come from? I mean, yeah, he's been in the Senate for a long time, but this is a guy that if you asked anybody about his name, I doubt anybody could be able to tell you who he was. 03:53 But there he is actually getting 39.99 % of the vote. David Stumbo getting 35.66. David Pasco coming up uh in the rear here at 24.34%. So Stephen Goldfence, David Stumbo will be going to a runoff in that case. Then we go down, then we got the case of all the people we liked. I mean, you really, if you looked at that race for uh ag commissioner, 04:21 I mean, there wasn't a soul in that race where you went, man, I don't like that guy. 04:51 Mark Lynch coming in with a respectable, a very respectable 28.89 % of the vote. Now one of the big, one of the really good things about last night is this voter turnout. 25.28%. That's a good voter turnout. That really is. So when you look at these ... 2214 Wed, 10 Jun 2026 20:05:00 +0000 a1piijnxGr09W0to5g1vn3SlGpDC1Pe5 news The Charlie James Show Podcast news Hour 1 The Charlie James Show originates from News/Talk 989 WORD, The Upstate's #1 Talk Station, weekdays 3-7pm. DESCRIPTION South Carolina's governor's race is headed for a photo finish, with polls showing no clear frontrunner and a bitter runoff battle looming on the horizon. Charlie examines the fallout from the Henry McMaster political machine, the controversy surrounding Pam Evette's campaign, and allegations that dark-money groups are targeting conservative lawmakers. Plus, a deep dive into California's election system, ballot harvesting, voter rolls, and why critics argue the Golden State has become a national warning sign for election integrity. PODCAST SUMMARY Charlie opens the show by breaking down the increasingly chaotic South Carolina governor's race. With polling showing several candidates clustered within striking distance of one another, the contest appears likely to head to a runoff. The discussion focuses on the political fallout surrounding reports that Henry McMaster's son was being considered for lieutenant governor and the controversy that followed. The conversation then turns to Governor Henry McMaster's record, with Charlie arguing that the election is becoming a referendum on the current administration's leadership. Topics include immigration enforcement, economic growth, public safety, and the perception that South Carolina's success has occurred despite, rather than because of, state leadership. The show also highlights a major immigration enforcement operation in the Upstate that resulted in arrests of management personnel accused of employment-related violations. Charlie argues that enforcement efforts should focus not only on workers but also on executives and decision-makers responsible for hiring practices. Attention then shifts to allegations involving foreign diploma mills, credential fraud, and concerns surrounding the H-1B visa program. Charlie discusses reports of counterfeit degrees in engineering, healthcare, and other professional fields, arguing that credential verification and workforce oversight deserve greater scrutiny. Later in the program, Charlie warns listeners about political mailers and text campaigns targeting members of South Carolina's Freedom Caucus. He interviews Representative Josiah Magnuson, who disputes claims made in campaign advertisements and argues that voters should closely examine the sources behind political messaging. The episode concludes with a discussion about California's election system, including ballot harvesting, voter registration controversies, mail-in voting, and ongoing legal disputes over voter rolls. Charlie argues that election administration practices in California continue to fuel concerns about transparency and voter confidence nationwide. DESCRIPTION With South Carolina's governor's race heading toward what looks like a runoff, Charlie examines the latest polling, the fallout from the McMaster political machine, and the controversy surrounding Pam Evette's lieutenant governor plans. Then the conversation shifts to immigration enforcement, a major ICE raid in South Carolina, and shocking reports of fraudulent college degrees connected to foreign worker visa programs. Charlie argues that political insiders, weak enforcement, and labor market manipulation are creating consequences for American workers and voters alike. PODCAST SUMMARY As South Carolina voters prepare to cast ballots, Charlie breaks down one of the tightest governor's races in recent memory. With multiple polls showing razor-thin margins between leading candidates and a large percentage of undecided voters, the race appears destined for a runoff. The discussion includes the political fallout surrounding Henry McMaster's son being linked to lieutenant governor speculation and the impact that controversy may have had on the campaign. The conversation turns to Governor McMaster's record on immigration enforcement, with Charlie comparing South Carolina's approach to more aggressive actions taken in states like Florida. He highlights a recent ICE raid in Abbeville and argues that immigration enforcement efforts should focus not only on workers but also on management and corporate decision-makers who knowingly violate employment laws. Later in the show, Charlie reacts to reports from India involving alleged diploma mills and fraudulent academic credentials. The discussion focuses on concerns surrounding H-1B visa programs, engineering and healthcare professions, and the broader impact of labor-market competition on American graduates. Charlie argues that credential verification and workforce accountability will become increasingly important topics in future immigration debates. The episode concludes with a warning that both South Carolina politics and national immigration policy are approaching major turning points, with voters set to make decisions that could have long-term consequences for government, employment, and economic growth.
