Wenn ihr bei dem blossen Namen von «Sensible Soccer», «MicroProse Soccer» und «Kick Off» Nostalgie-Tränen vergiesst, seid Ihr bei «Active Soccer 2 DX» richtig. The Fox Software veröffentlicht auf Xbox One ein Fussballspiel, das all diese Klassiker vereint und eigene Komponenten hinzufügt. Die immense Anzahl an Teams (850 Mannschaften im Karriere-Modus) ist bereits ein Knüller. Dass die 22'000 Spieler mit individuellen Fähigkeiten aber auch wie bei «Sensible Soccer» mit Fake-Namen, die den realen Spielern sehr ähneln, auflaufen, lässt Kenner in Erinnerungen schwelgen. Auch die Menüs sind sehr von «Sensible Soccer» inspiriert, aber auch Anleihen von «Kick Off» sind insbesondere bei der dezent holprigen Bewegungsmustern der Spieler zu erkennen. Die markanten Bananenschüsse sind erstmals in «MicroProse Soccer» aufgetaucht und können hier auch wunderbar zelebriert werden. Natürlich gibt es auch dezente spielerische Änderungen: Der Ball klebt noch bisschen mehr am Fuss und die Spieler können u.a. kurze Sprints ansetzen. Gegen den Alltime-Klassiker «Sensible World of Soccer» (Ausgabe 96-97) kommt «Active Soccer 2 DX» zwar nicht heran, jedoch ist der Multiplayer-Spass für bis zu 8 lokalen Fussballgöttern eine fantastische Hommage an die goldene Ära der Arcade-Kickereien.
