In the first full-episode MFFI livestream, Duncan opens the spellbook on the roots of witchcraft and the modern movements keeping the magic alive. So grab your crystals (or your skepticism) and settle in for a tale of treacherous ale-wives, black cats, pointed hats, and centuries of persecution. From sacred symbols to sanitized stereotypes, this episode unpacks how witchcraft was vilified, commodified, and eventually rebranded. ~ Support the show by becoming a Midnight Minion, Menace, or Maniac, and unlock exclusive bonus content over at PATREON ~ Chat with fellow insomniacs and vote on episode topics via DISCORD ~ Join the Midnight Masses! Spooky Season is officially over, and the boys are trading ghouls and goblins for birthday cake! It's Ryan's birthday, and he got to pick any two movies he wanted. Staying true to his Siskel & Ebert roots, Ryan went bold, choosing two of the only three movies Gene Siskel ever walked out of. (Don't worry, we're saving the third one for a couple weeks from now!) Neither of these movies are officially on the Two Thumbs Down list, but they still capture the spirit of Siskel the curmudgeon.
It's Season 8!!Welcome--or welcome back, as the case may be. This season is all about the new scares. We're looking at some of the best new horror in 2025.Sometimes you're not in the mood to see a full length feature...that's where shorts come in. So much so, that we wanted to bring you some information about the festival and review 4 of the 9 shorts that we saw. Hope you enjoy! If you like what you hear, please give the show a positive review to help others find us. If you'd like to watch the podcast, search for "Dudes of the Dead" on YouTube. The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958), and The Evil of Frankenstein (1964) What can you say about the Hammer Frankenstein films that hasn't been said before? Well, a lot, actually! In 1957, a relatively small, mostly unknown studio made a film that would forever change horror and kick off a cycle of sensual, bloody, and atmospheric fright flicks that would dominate the genre for around twenty years. To say that The Curse of Frankenstein is a classic is almost like saying that water is wet, but it is also a film that lives up to it's reputation. It and its sequels are films that not only deserve regular revisits, they also belong in more modern conversations about horror. While nearly all the films shard crewmembers and all but one were directed by Terence Fisher, one constant defined the series: Peter Cushing's mesmerizing take on Victor Frankenstein, equal parts gentleman and ghoul. On this episode we look at the first three films in the Cushing Frankenstein cycle, and in a very real way, make a pilgrimage to one of horror's holy places. We love these films and we hope that either you do too, or that you will by the time you are done listening. Films mentioned in this episode: The Bride of Frankenstein (1935), Corruption (1968), The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), The Devil-Ship Pirates 1964), Dracula vs Frankenstein (1971), The Evil of Frankenstein (1964), Frankenstein (1931), Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969), Maniac (1963), Nightmare (1964), Paranoiac (1963), The Quatermass Xperiment (1955), Re-Animator (1985), The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958)

Vendredi 13, Terreur sur la ligne, The Burning, My Bloody Valentine, Prom Night, Maniac, Sleepaway Camp…

BEYOND FEST PREMIERE OUT OF THE THEATRE REVIEW!! Shelby Oaks Movie Review - Veteran YouTube movie critic Chris Stuckmann makes his feature directorial debut with a psychological found-footage horror epic!! Save & Invest In Your Future Today, visit: https://www.acorns.com/rejects Shelby Oaks marks YouTuber-turned-filmmaker Chris Stuckmann's bold leap from film critic to feature director. Shelby Oaks (2024) is a supernatural horror mystery built around the disappearance of a paranormal investigation team and the dark secrets hidden in the abandoned town that bears their name. The film follows Mia (Camille Sullivan – Hunter Hunter, The Man in the High Castle), haunted by the disappearance of her sister Riley (Sarah Durn – Interview with the Vampire), as she searches for answers years later, retracing Riley's last known steps with the Paranormal Paranoids team. Along the way, cryptic found-footage tapes, chilling revelations, and supernatural forces threaten to tear the boundary between life and death. The ensemble cast also includes Brendan Sexton III (Welcome to the Dollhouse, Maniac) as Robert, Mia's husband; Michael Beach (ER, Waiting to Exhale) as Detective Burke; Keith David (They Live, The Thing) as Morton Jacobson; along with Robin Bartlett (Inside Llewyn Davis, Shutter Island), Charlie Talbert (American Pie, The Faculty), and others in supporting roles. Some of the most talked-about moments include the reveal of the second “lost tape” that was never found by police, the atmosphere-rich found footage sequences that echo Blair Witch and Sinister vibes, and the film's twisty third act that leans heavily into supernatural horror tropes. Some objects are built with purpose. Others are built with ego, ambition…and a total disregard for scale. In this gargantuan episode, Shane and Duncan dive deep into the most colossal creations humans have ever unleashed on land, sea, and sky. Prepare to meet the Seawise Giant, a ship so long it could cast shade on a city block. Marvel at Bagger 293, the German earth-eater that looks like it escaped from a kaiju movie. And brace yourself for the Dongfang wind turbine, whose blades are longer than a football field. These are mega-monuments to human excess—massive, magnificent, and maybe just a little bit ridiculous. ~ Support the show by becoming a Midnight Minion, Menace, or Maniac, and unlock exclusive bonus content over at PATREON ~ Chat with fellow insomniacs and vote on episode topics via DISCORD ~ Join the Midnight Masses! Martin Luther I believe that this world, as we know it, will come to an end… This is not fanciful imagination but
It began with a shotgun, a missed shot, and a very nerdy debate. In this record-breaking episode, Shane and Duncan track the origins of the Guinness Book of World Records, uncover the publishing quirks that made it a global phenomenon, and spotlight some of the most astonishing, hilarious, and downright unhinged feats ever committed to paper. From competitive juggling to tattooed seniors and flaming jump rope enthusiasts, this is one for the record books. ~ Support the show by becoming a Midnight Minion, Menace, or Maniac, and unlock exclusive bonus content over at PATREON ~ Chat with fellow insomniacs and vote on episode topics via DISCORD ~ Join the Midnight Masses! He critically examines the roles of parents, doctors, pharmaceutical companies, and the media, calling for drastic actions including arrests and policy changes. He attributes a series of recent violent events to the radical left and accuses liberal figures and entities like the ACLU and George Soros of fostering societal unrest. Savage laments the collapse of American values and safety for children nationwide.
