This week, host Jesse David Fox sits down with the dynamic duo behind Garfunkel and Oates: Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci! The actors and comedy singer-songwriters first came together to write and record music as a result of the Writer's Guild of America strike of 2008. Since then the pair have been prolific; they have three studio albums: All Over Your Face, Slippery When Moist, Secretions, had their own TV show in 2013 self-titled Garfunkel and Oates, and have written numerous songs for TV and film. In this week's episode, the three dissect the musical duo's viral song The Loophole, discuss the rollercoaster ride that is writing songs on spec, and talk about writing the songs for Michelle Obama's Netflix kid show, Waffles + Mochi. You can watch Garfunkel and Oates's music videos on their Youtube channel, Garfunkel and Oates, and stream their albums wherever you stream music. You can stream Waffles + Mochi on Netflix. It is our 26th episode of Drag Time with Heklina and it is all about Cazwell. Let's just say it. He's sexy and he is a rapper. Cazwell joins us from Los Angeles where we get the latest about his new YouTube series MOISTURIZING WITH THE EXTRATERRESTRIALS, all about a good skincare routine and, yes, stories of alien abduction. Cazwell even gives us a little lesson in oil cleansers, moisturizing, and Retin-A treatment. We asked Cazwell all about making the wildly popular videos for Cakes, All Over Your Face, Ice Cream Truck, and I love You. He tells us how he casts his videos and his favorite collaborators for clothing and costume. Speaking of fashion, we have an Amanda LePore update! Hear a little about the Cazwell process that goes into writing and recording with artist-collaborators such as Richie Beretta (Major Lazer, Jillionaire), Justin de Nobrega (Die Antwoord), Nicky da B (Diplo), Peaches, Jesse Novak (M.I.A., Santigold), Big Dipper, RedTop (Beyoncé, Goldfrapp), Manila Luzon, DJ Fresh Direct, to name a few. We're so glad you're tuning in! We love Cazwell! "Loose Wrists" song is featured with permission by Cazwell.
