We had the pleasure of interviewing Shae over Zoom video!Shae Dupuy, devoted and ever-evolving, continues to push boundaries as an artist and songwriter, taking her talents to new heights.Having displayed an affinity for music as a young child, taking vocal and guitar lessons at the age of eight and attending a specialized arts high school, it seemed natural that on the day of her high school graduation, Dupuy would launch her career. In 2014, Dupuy released her first single, "Grandpa’s Truck" to radio, that attracted the attention of CMT Canada, naming her ‘Fresh Face Artist’ later that fall In 2016, she released her second studio EP Brave and garnered multiple nominations from the CMAO Awards for her songs, "Tin Man" and "Drink About It". Soon after, Dupuy went on to earn in 2017 the CCMA nomination for ‘Interactive Artist of the Year”.Dupuy has performed at multiple festivals, including some of Canada’s top festivals at Cavendish Beach and Lucknow’s Music in the Fields. In 2018 Dupuy headed on her first tour where she performed in multiple cities from coast to coast across Canada.Following the success of her first two studio EPs, she moved south to Nashville immersing herself in the city’s songwriting scene. It is here that Dupuy has written a catalogue of songs for her next recording project, as well as songs for other artists. Her new music displays cultured vocal expression, storytelling, and a strong sense of identity and conviction, both as an artist and as a person. We want to hear from you! Ben Hudson is a country singer-songwriter from Uxbridge, Ontario. His smooth, rich vocals have been compared to Josh Turner and Brothers Osborne although his country-rock influenced songwriting is similar to that of Eric Church and Aaron Lewis. His self-titled EP was released in early 2016, gaining the attention of CMT Canada who made him their Fresh Face artist and also earned him a nomination at the 2016 CMAO Awards for Rising Star. In June of 2016, he released his first single “Redneck Summer” to country radio. In its first week, the single was in the top 5 DMDS downloads and added into rotation at many major market stations across Canada. This strong debut helped secured a spot at the inaugural CMT Music Fest. Topcountry.ca named him one of their top artists to watch in 2017 and the Country Music Association of Ontario selected him as their January 2017 “Artist of the Month.” Ben recently opened for Juno Award Winner Brett Kissel on his 2017 “Ice, Snow & 30 Below” tour and his 2018 “We Were That Song” tour. He is currently in studio working on his debut full length album set for release in early 2018.

Cadence Grace, Ann Chaplin and Stacey Zegers have had major successes in their own right as solo female artists, but never imagined that together their collective talents would catapult them to an entirely new level as Runaway Angel. Individually, they have toured Canada, the United States, Europe and Britain, opening for major acts like Dean Brody, Aaron Pritchett, One More Girl, Jessie Farrell, Aaron Lines, Terri Clark, Emerson Drive, and Doc Walker. It all began in 2009 when Stacey and Cadence met on set during the filming of CMT’s Karaoke Star, where both were finalists and became fast friends. Cadence then met Ann at CCMA Week in 2011 and they clicked instantly. In late 2013, the three friends joined forces and together Runaway Angel was born.  The girls’ first online release in January 2014 titled ‘Our Story’ was the first song they wrote together as a trio and it landed them in the Regional Finals for the 2014 CBC Searchlight contest. Summer of 2014 was filled with ground breaking experiences for the trio, who enjoyed their first opening spots as a group for Dierks Bentley and Tim Hicks, and played in the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase. They were invited to present an award at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards and attended 2014 Country Music Week in Edmonton where they performed in the Coast to Coast Showcase at West Edmonton Mall. March 9th, 2015 was the release of their debut single ‘Run Angel Run’ co-written with Ole Publishing’s Bruce Wallace and produced by award-winning producer Jason Barry. Stacey, Ann and Cadence are excited to release their debut EP this spring. Runaway Angel earned 4 nominations at the 2015 CMAO Awards.

For Lindsay Broughton, Country Music is home. It’s the quiet, country house, white picket fence, and the rocking chair on the porch. Not a surprising association, as she was raised with music as a constant companion throughout her childhood in Brooklin, Ontario. For all her life, no matter what changes headed her way, music has always been there for her. Initially gaining inspiration from her performing mother, as soon as Lindsay was old enough she began performing. She became well and truly bit by the bug in high school, where she learned the guitar and joined the local songwriting club. As part of a field trip, she went to Nashville, where even then her potential was noticed. Arriving back to Brooklin, encouraged by the praise received in Nashville, she was more determined than ever to hone her craft and pursue a career in music. Fast forward: Lindsay has been a regular at the famous Boots & Hearts festival, has played at many CCMA showcases as well as the CMAO Awards show, and has shared the stage with some of country’s heavy hitters such as Chad Brownlee, Emerson Drive and Gord Bamford. Now, her debut full length album entitled Take Me There has been released with thecurrent radio single of the same name written by Lindsay. The album is pulled from real life experiences, but focuses on the cycle we have all gone through at some point; love, loss, and redemption. The single challenges the listener to think back to the moments in their lives that made them the happiest. It’s a toe-tapping, gritty, up-tempo song that encourages you to roll the car window down, relax, and say “bring it on” to whatever lies ahead.

Marshall Dane’s infectious blend of country and rock is set to blaze a trail in 2014. Country by definition, but fueled by rock and roll and infected with a watermelon-sized helping of hope, love and salvation, Marshall’s the kind of guy you want to have on your side when the going gets tough in this world and his new album, One Of These Days is set to be your alibi.     Launched in May 2013, in time for last year’s CMAO Awards – for which he was nominated in several categories including Male Artist and Album Of The Year – and featuring the single and title track, “One Of These Days”, Canadian Country Artist Marshall Dane’s latest album puts life back in to the swing of things, driven by a swirling blast of fabulous melodies that gives you a country rush right from the get-go.     One of These Days has country in its veins, topped up with doses of rock, pop and a side helping of soul. This latest collection is never far away from a radio-friendly corner, whether it’s the thrill of “Living It Up” or the reflective energy of “How Do I Get There From Her,” or the rollicking new single, “Alcohol Abuse,” set for February 2014 release in the US and worldwide.     Born in Southern Ontario, Marshall grazed on a rich fix of music, from the country sounds of his preacher dad – “He first taught me how to play “– through his mum – in his own words the strongest, toughest, hardest working woman he’s ever met – who played piano in the evenings to his four sisters and two brothers and through his own musical discoveries from John Denver to Michael Jackson  He has opened for Alan Jackson and Emerson Drive, played at the 2011 CCMA Awards and toured on his own.
