NWP welcomes Award Ainning Cookbook Author Niki Segnit!  Already a #1 Best Seller, Lateral Cooking is a groundbreaking handbook--the "method" companion to its critically acclaimed predecessor, The Flavor Thesaurus. Niki Segnit used to follow recipes to the letter, even when she'd made a dish a dozen times. But as she tested the combinations that informed The Flavor Thesaurus, she detected the basic rubrics that underpinned most recipes. Lateral Cooking offers these formulas, which, once readers are familiar with them, will prove infinitely adaptable. The book is divided into twelve chapters, each covering a basic culinary category, such as "Bread," "Stock, Soup & Stew," or "Sauce." The recipes in each chapter are arranged on a continuum, passing from one to another with just a tweak or two to the method or ingredients. Once you've got the hang of flatbreads, for instance, then its neighboring dishes (crackers, soda bread, scones) will involve the easiest and most intuitive adjustments. The result is greater creativity in the kitchen: Lateral Cooking encourages improvisation, resourcefulness, and, ultimately, the knowledge and confidence to cook by heart. Lateral Cooking is a practical book, but, like The Flavor Thesaurus, it's also a highly enjoyable read, drawing widely on culinary science, history, ideas from professional kitchens, observations by renowned food writers, and Segnit's personal recollections. Entertaining, opinionated, and inspirational, with a handsome three-color design, Lateral Cooking will have you torn between donning your apron and settling back in a comfortable chair. https://www.nikisegnit.com/

NPW welcomes James Beard Award Winning Authors, Michael Solomonov and Steven Cook!  For their first major book since the trailblazing Zahav, Michael Solomonov and Steven Cook go straight to the food of the people—the great dishes that are the soul of Israeli cuisine. Usually served from tiny eateries, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, or market stalls, these specialties have passed from father to son or mother to daughter for generations. To find the best versions, the authors scoured bustling cities like Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa, and sleepy towns on mountaintops. They visited bakeries, juice carts, beaches, even weddings.    Their finds include meals in the hand like falafel and pita; juicy, grilled and roasted spice-rubbed meats; stuffed vegetables; a wealth of chopped vegetable salads; a five-minute fluffy hummus with more than two dozen toppings; pastries, ice creams, and shakes. Solomonov has perfected and adapted every recipe for the home kitchen.   Each chapter weaves history with contemporary portrayals of the food. Striking photographs capture all its flavor and vitality, while step-by-step how-tos and closeups of finished dishes make everything simple and accessible. USA Today Best Selling Romance Author Daisy Prescott

MNWP welcomes USA Today bestselling author Daisy Prescott back to the show! Before writing funny contemporary romances about adults, I dreamed of being an author while doing a lot of other things. Antiques dealer, baker, blue ribbon pie-maker, fangirl, freelance writer, gardener, pet mom and wife are a few of the titles I’ve acquired along the way. Born and raised in San Diego, she and her husband currently live in a real life Stars Hollow in the Boston suburbs with their dog, Hubbell, and an imaginary house goat who remains nameless. Geoducks are for Lovers, her debut novel in the Modern Love Stories series, is a second chance romance that mixes Reality Bites with The Big Chill. Ready to Fall, her second novel, features John Day, the hot, sexy neighbor in my debut novel Geoducks Are for Lovers. Missionary Position, the third novel, follows Selah Elmore, Maggie’s sexy, sassy best friend, on the adventure of a lifetime. Confessions of a Reformed Tom Cat, the fourth novel, features “Tom Cat” Donnely, John Day’s wingman and self-declared manwhore, finally meeting his match. All four books can be read as standalones, but are interconnected. Also look for  Modern Love Stories Shorts in various anthologies, including LOL and Red Hot sets. Shes busy writing her next novel, which will not feature any bivalves. http://daisyprescott.com More details available at http://facebook.com/northwestprime
