Don Graham and Marshall Dane - Together Again For the First Time! Don Graham is a veteran country singer/songwriter having spent over four decades perfecting his craft. He has performed globally, picking up friends and fans around the world. Don was signed in the early days to Irving Almo Music to a writers deal by the legendary Brian Chater, resulting in him relocating from his hometown of Montreal to Toronto. Don now spends his time performing at select venues, while also travelling to showcase at places like the Nashville Palace in Tennessee, a private party during MIDEM in Cannes, France and appearing on the pilot for a video show hosted by Dave Woods. Marshall Dane was born in Southern Ontario and brought up on music, with a preacher Dad who played guitar and a musical Mum who played piano. Playing his first solo gig at age fifteen for thirty-five bucks and a plate of cheesecake, Marshall tried working in a band before eventually taking fate in to his own hands in 2008, heading down to Nashville for a master-class in composing country songs. Playing in bars and clubs as a solo singer and with a touring band has given him his fair share of stories and insights – great for writing songs. But when it comes to cooking up a tune, Marshall admits that his parents’ spiritual upbringing permeates his writing, with themes of love, home and kindness appearing throughout his songs. Don and Marshall will be performing their show - Don Graham and Marshall Dane - Together Again For the First Time! - on November 26th at Musideum in Toronto. Tune in to hear this dynamic duo tell stories, tell jokes and share songs on this special episode of In The Country.
Hi listeners and welcome to another edition of Weekdays with Murph. Today, we're pleased to have singer Marshall Dane joining us. We'll chat with Marshall about his career, music, causes that are close to his heart, and anything he's working on that he can talk about. As usual, I've got my sidekick Emily with me, so let's get started
Marshall Dane's infectious blend of country and rock is set to blaze a trail in 2014. Country by definition, but fueled by rock and roll and infected with a watermelon-sized helping of hope, love and salvation, Marshall's the kind of guy you want to have on your side when the going gets tough in this world and his new album, One Of These Days is set to be your alibi. Born in Southern Ontario, Marshall grazed on a rich fix of music, from the country sounds of his preacher dad – “He first taught me how to play “The Farmer's Song” on guitar” – through his mum – in his own words the strongest, toughest, hardest working woman he's ever met – who played piano in the evenings to his four sisters and two brothers and through his own musical discoveries from John Denver to Michael Jackson – “Thriller was the first album I bought, on cassette!” Playing in bars and clubs as a solo singer and with a touring band – has given him his fair share of stories and insights – great for writing songs. He has opened for Alan Jackson and Emerson Drive, played at the 2011 CCMA Awards and toured on his own. On days off however, he prefers to spend his time out of the bar – in the gym, on his motorcycle, practicing yoga or at home in his apartment “cooking up something scrumptious.” Marshall Dane will join Take 2 Radio Music for a chat and music on Wednesday, October 29th at 3pm eastern!

Celine Tellier's debut EP Last One Standing is a culmination of 3 years of writing, feeling, highs, lows, disappointments and achievements! In 2012, she entered a songwriting competition hosted by KICX 91.7 in Sudbury, ON on a dare, and was one of the top 5 finalists. Since then, she has taken every opportunity to host numerous house concerts, and has opened for and shared the stage with many very well established Canadian country artists such as Marshall Dane, Doc Walker, Tonya Kennedy, Ty Baynton, and Tim Hicks. She's also played summer festivals such as Parry Sound Ribfest and the Blueberry Festival in Sudbury, as well as opened the weekend for Country In The Woods. A mutual friend got her in touch with Nashville-based Canadian recording artist Jason Kirkness who, after a few months of phone calls and emails, agreed to produce this album. She's made friends, taken notes and advice, and got to work; and with the support of her husband and children, "Last One Standing" was on its way! Recorded between The Hilson Studio in Nashville, TN and Private Ear Studios in Winnipeg, MB, "Last One Standing" is the product of determination, focus, and sacrifice. Along with the stellar sounds of some of the best musicians in country music today, Celine's words have come to life, and she hopes that you will enjoy listening as much as she has enjoyed writing.
