Send us a textThis week on Here's What We Know, we're ending the year with a bang in this episode of Once Around the Country as we welcome singer-songwriter Will Jones! Join us for a relaxed, honest conversation that wanders through bluegrass roots, songwriting, fatherhood, and the beauty of keeping things simple. Will shares stories from growing up in Cana, Virginia, playing in a family bluegrass band tucked into the Appalachian Mountains, learning music before most kids learn multiplication tables, and waking his dad up singing gospel songs at six years old. Those early porch-front, small-town moments still shape how he writes and performs today. We also explore the grind of the road, lessons learned from nearly empty rooms, moments with artists like Josh Turner, Laney Wilson, Ashley McBryde, Jon Pardi, and Zach Brown, and how faith, family, and years of persistence have shaped his perspective. This episode is funny, reflective, and deeply human. It is about staying rooted, showing up honestly, and finding joy in the journey, even when it is messy. In This Episode:Bluegrass roots and Appalachian beginningsLearning music before learning mathWriting songs from real conversationsFatherhood, family, and finding balanceFixing old trucks between showsPlaying live with no tracks, no safety netLessons from empty rooms and long roadsWhy honesty still wins in country musicThis episode is sponsored by:Mike Counsil Plumbing & Rooter (Use code “Gary” to get $89 off any service!)License #: 679261Bio:Will Jones is a country artist raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains and based in Nashville. In this talk, recorded live at The Cause to Live For 2025, Josh Turner (Hull Vineyard) spoke on how to be a generation who are marked by the fire of God. He reminded us that one moment can change everything and every single day has the potential to be Pentecost.Drawing from Acts 2, he unpacks what happens when the Holy Spirit moves with power, purity, and presence. With stories of quiet revival, transformed lives, and God's unmistakable work among Gen Z, this talk is an invitation to surrender, to step out boldly, and to experience the fire of God afresh.
How do we stand firm when temptation comes? In this message, Pastor Josh Turner teaches from Matthew 4, looking at Jesus' time in the wilderness and the enemy's attempts to derail Him. Through this story, we see how God's Word anchors us, how to recognize the subtle ways temptation appears, and how to make decisive choices that lead us closer to Christ instead of compromise.
How do you navigate the inevitable storms of life? What does it truly look like to grieve the life you once envisioned?Josh Turner is no stranger to life's storms. From parenting a daughter with special needs—whose diagnosis didn't come until she was 12 years old—to enduring a painful betrayal at the church where he served as a pastor, Josh has weathered more than his fair share of hardship. Through these experiences, he began to recognize a critical need: a pathway to help pastors and leaders endure their own storms without reaching the point of burnout or moral failure. This realization led to the founding of the 10 Ten Project, a ministry dedicated to equipping pastors and leaders with the tools they need to lead well through adversity. Josh also shares his powerful personal journey in his latest book, Into the Storm: How to Face Down Any Crisis with Deep, Unshakable Faith. In this episode, Davey and Josh explore how suffering can deepen our faith, the unique challenges of raising a child with special needs and how it can effect a marriage, and what leaders need to sustain their calling in the face of crisis. If you're walking through a storm right now, this conversation is a timely reminder: no matter what you're facing, it's possible to enter the storm with a deep, unshakable faith. Donna Adelson Trial — Deputy Josh Turner Explains Jail Pod Video & “Jail Daughter” Claims This clip centers on Deputy Josh Turner as he walks jurors through the nuts and bolts of jail surveillance video connected to interactions between Donna Adelson and informant Drina Bernhardt (often referenced as the “jail daughter”). Turner's testimony is clinical and detailed: vantage points of cameras, what the footage captures (and what it doesn't), how movement inside the pod is tracked, and how those frames line up with interviews and reports. The defense's agenda is clear—ground the informant narrative in verifiable timestamps and pixels rather than rumor and retelling. Why it matters: jailhouse informants can sway juries—positively or negatively—depending on credibility and corroboration. Turner's on-the-ground account gives jurors the framework to assess whether Bernhardt's claims match the video record. If the footage contradicts or fails to support key allegations, it dents the state's storyline. If it aligns, it props it up. Either way, Turner's calm, technical pass through the evidence helps separate speculation from what the cameras actually show. Pay attention to his explanation of camera coverage gaps, any discussion of notes or communications, and whether the observed interactions are as clear-cut as some testimony suggests. Also note how both sides use Turner: the defense to challenge narrative leaps, the prosecution to emphasize consistency where it exists. The takeaway for viewers is straightforward: this is an evidence tutorial, the kind that resonates in deliberations. No theatrics—just surveillance and sworn answers that help jurors decide what's real, what's plausible, and what's noise. #hashtags #DonnaAdelsonTrial #DanMarkel #JoshTurner #JailhouseInformant #SurveillanceVideo #TrueCrime #Courtroom #Evidence #TrialUpdate Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The animal was 11% Eurasian/Greenland wolf and 89% unknown canid! According to the expert, it is either a new species or a species thought to be extinct. It is an enigma that has no genetic record anywhere. This means they have discovered a new species or a prehistoric one that has remained hidden. Send us a textA 15-year-old Elvis Tribute Artist that many feel is Elvis reincarnated but looks like Joaquin Phoenix! He is the only singer in his family. The attraction started in second grade after his best friend dared him to dress up as Elvis for Halloween, which began the love affair for the King of Rock n Roll. Aiden also sings Johnny Cash, Josh Turner and a couple others but Elvis is his niche. He says, Elvis is a friend of his that he never got to meet and since 2nd Grade he has been singing his songs that began with “Jailhouse Rock.” Aiden spends an hour every day practicing Elvis's music. He states he has watch every single video on YouTube that Elvis has watched to perfect his mannerisms and movement and some of these moves come natural to Aiden. He has jumpsuits made specifically for him along with the replica clothes and he completely embraces this vintage look and mentions; he was born in the wrong era!Being part of a big competition in Memphis in the Big “little” King Division, he will be performing in the Graceland tent very soon, but Aiden really wants to be the Ultimate Elvis and has been to Tupelo, MS many times and performed right outside the birthplace of Elvis! What is next? VEGAS? Steve Pennington is his vocal coach for over the past year and half, and one Aiden believes in him in which the results speak for themselves. Pennington is the one to credit for posting his videos and putting the naysayers at bay that believed Aiden was lip synching by posting an A Capella video. How is he handling all the notoriety from his VIRAL videos? He tells us what long term plans are, and he has a plan B too! What does a teenager away from being Elvis? He ends with a beautiful story of the impact he has had on others. Timmy McKeever, growing up in Huntingon, California McKeever started his musical journey at age nine after hearing his third grade teacher play worship songs after class. That intrigued young Timmy so much that he picked up a beginner guitar they had lying around the house and started playing around. From there it blossomed into writing music and playing shows. “My whole childhood I would play 2-3 shows during the weekend and go to school during the week. Write music after class. I just fell in love with it” he shares. McKeever got offered a development deal with Jim Cantino over at Droptine Records. McKeever just released his debut album “Devils and Angels”, and it's been getting good feedback. “Devils in Angels is an album that follows all the aspects of love from the beginning to the end and the aftermath. All the highs and lows and in betweens. It's very personal to me because the title track was the first song I ever wrote where I thought this is something really special to me.” He adds that he saved the song for the past two years because he wanted it as the title track of his debut project.
