In all the tech news and world news last week, YouTube's Made On event got a little lost. So we circled back: The Verge's Mia Sato explains why YouTube is suddenly all-in on livestreaming, why it seems to be rapidly turning into a shopping mall, and whether all these AI features will improve YouTube or destroy it. After that, it's time for a second round of David's Summer Takes, in which he subjects The Verge's Jake Kastrenakes and Hayden Field to his thoughts on Threads, podcasts, and social media. Finally, Hayden sticks around to answer a question on the Vergecast Hotline (call 866-VERGE11 or email vergecast@theverge.com!) about the words we use when we talk AI. In the debut of our mini series “Tales from the Go Live”, David Chaviano welcomes SAP partner consultant Rebecca Murray from Syntax. Rebecca shares how her team delivered a GROW with SAP deployment to a customer whose main operations sat deep in northern Canada. Rebecca outlines the GROW with SAP methodology; leading with best practices in S/4HANA Public Cloud, layering minimal customer-specific configuration, and pairing it with SuccessFactors reaching every employee. Over 14 months, a lean team of 12 specialists implemented and rolled out ERP and HR capabilities with mostly remote delivery, targeted on-site visits, and post–go-live hypercare to stabilize payroll, billing, and period-end close. Rebeccas biggest lesson learned: active listening is crutial when tailoring best practices to a customer's definition of success. For newcomers, she advises exploring different roles (technical, functional, strategic, customer-facing) and following your curiosity to build a rewarding SAP career.

Are you living a life you want to live?Today I want to introduce you to Shannon, as someone I've had the honor of exploring the world with, calling a friend, and drinking rose in the pool on a floating swan; Shannon is one who is intentionally living the life she wants to live It is often we forget that we are in control of how we live, of what we do, and who we become. We chat about what it looks like to honor who you are, to be who you were made to be, and to live life to the fullest She shares how loss at a young age was both something she would change in a heartbeat but how it was also the greatest gift that was given to her, how choosing and intentionally looking for joy in everyday is a must, and how finding the beauty in the ashes is what determines so much of how we see life and those around us We chat about what it looks like to be the best version of yourself, what it means to have the support and love of someone who both desires and supports that in you and pursues it in themself as wellShe shares how working in a mans world and often for women challenges her, but more importantly how she continues to choose to hold on to kindness and the knowledge that if the worst thing that is said is “you're too nice” then like was not at all a lossShannon is one that has been a soft and safe friend in my life, one that has reminded me what it is to know your tribe, to trust yourself, and to love that version of who you are becomingSo tune in today and meet Shannon, and let her words do the same for you, let them remind you to be kind, that contentment is ok to be found in the now, that you get to choose to be you, and that the sunset will make your life better when you sit with itAnd to you Shannon thank you, thank you for always reminding me I have a place at your table and never ever making me question if you value being at mine, thank you for your softness and gentle kindness in a world that can feel cruel, and thank you for being so excited about every creative idea that crosses your mind and sharing them with me. You are what makes the world a better place, love you.

Dave Sobel hosts a sponsored webinar discussing the modern endpoint management capabilities of Microsoft Intune, particularly its relevance for Managed Service Providers (MSPs). The session features Rolando Jimenez, a technical trainer at Nerdio, and Hugo Salazar, a Go Live engineer, who share their insights and experiences with Intune. They explore the evolution of Intune from a supplementary tool to a central component of Microsoft 365, emphasizing its integration with security products and the shift away from traditional on-premises solutions like Active Directory and Group Policy. The conversation highlights the practical aspects of deploying Intune, including the importance of pre-planning and understanding the complexities involved in transitioning from legacy systems. Rolando and Hugo discuss common pitfalls that MSPs encounter when setting up Intune, such as the need for proper configuration and the significance of using tools like the Group Policy Analyzer. They also emphasize the benefits of using Intune's autopilot feature for zero-touch enrollment, which streamlines the onboarding process for new devices.Security is a major focus, with the speakers addressing how Intune helps manage compliance and protect sensitive data, especially in a remote work environment. They explain the differences between Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM), detailing how MAM allows for the protection of corporate data on personal devices without requiring full device management. This nuanced approach is crucial for organizations that want to balance user privacy with security needs. As the discussion wraps up, Rolando and Hugo encourage MSPs to embrace Intune as a powerful tool for endpoint management. They stress the importance of leveraging the capabilities of Intune to enhance operational efficiency and security while providing practical advice for successful implementation. The session concludes with a Q&A segment, where they address specific questions from the audience, further clarifying the benefits and functionalities of Intune in modern IT management. Shoot us a Text.Episode #1077: Today we're talking about Stellantis' cautious leadership shuffle, Tesla's Robotaxi rollout with safety monitors in the passenger seat, and how AI is quietly shaping the way we talk—even if we don't realize it.Antonio Filosa officially begins his tenure as Stellantis CEO, opting for continuity over disruption by retaining his North America role and promoting from within—a move that left investors wanting more.Filosa will remain based in Detroit and continue overseeing North America to stabilize performance in Stellantis' most troubled region. He trimmed direct reports to 16, down from 33 under Tavares, signaling a leaner leadership model.Key appointments include Scott Thiele as head of supply chain and Monica Genovese as head of purchasing, while all 14 brand chiefs—including Jeep, Fiat, and Maserati—stay in place.Stellantis shares are down 10% since his May appointment.Jefferies analysts dryly noted the split role “suggests that revamping Stellantis may not be a full-time job.”Tesla has officially launched its Robotaxi pilot in Austin, offering driverless rides to a select group of superfans. While early impressions are mostly positive, the rollout wasn't without its quirks—or a couple concerning errors.Service is live in a ~30-square-mile geofenced area of South Austin with limited weather, time, and destination constraints. There's a human “safety monitor” in the passenger seat with emergency controls—and remote teleoperators on standby.Notable fails include one vehicle veering into an oncoming lane mid-turn and another stopping mid-intersection to let out a passenger.Riders must use a separate “Robotaxi” app, distributed via Apple's TestFlight, but noted seamless syncing of personal Tesla profiles (like music) and a smooth ride experience on par with, or better than, current FSD builds.Content creator Chuck Cook praised the performance: “Quite advanced behavior… a more confident parking job than I've personally encountered in a Waymo.”As AI tools like ChatGPT increasingly shape our digital interactions, researchers are now tracking how those patterns are bleeding into how we actually talk with some surprising, and maybe unsettling, results. In academic YouTube videos, usage of words like “delve” and “adept” has jumped over 50% since ChatGPT's release.Spoken language is becoming more structured and emotionally muted—mirroring AI's formal tone.Researchers warn this shift erodes the authentic signals we use in speech, like stumbles and slang, which build human connection. The influence of “correct” AI-generated English is crowding out regional dialects, affecting who sounds credible in public discourse.“Delve is only the tip of the iceberg,” says Max Planck reseaJoin Paul J Daly and Kyle Mountsier every morning for the Automotive State of the Union podcast as they connect the dots across car dealerships, retail trends, emerging tech like AI, and cultural shifts—bringing clarity, speed, and people-first insight to automotive leaders navigating a rapidly changing industry.Get the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/
Why does making friends as an adult feel so awkward? Are you showing up to truly connect—or just hoping to get something in return? What shifts when we lead with generosity instead of expectation? In this episode of The Courage To Be™ podcast, host Tania Vasallo explores the challenges and opportunities of building real, face-to-face connections as adults. Drawing from her experiences leading Santa Fe Hive, a local networking group, Tania shares practical strategies for making new friends, deepening relationships, and navigating social spaces with intention. She tells a charming story about her young daughter effortlessly making friends by simply sharing and chatting with a neighbor's child—a reminder of how natural connection can be when we approach it with openness and curiosity. You'll learn how to shift from a “what can I get?” mindset to “how can I serve?”—a simple but powerful approach to making lasting connections in business, community, and everyday life. This episode is a must-listen if you're craving more authentic relationships as a grown-up.
On this week's episode of Grumpy Old Geeks, we kick things off with the glorious meltdown of two of our least favorite Bond villains: Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Not only is their public pissing match tanking Tesla's market cap, but now Trump's launching a crypto wallet to… fund freedom? Or at least funnel it straight to his latest shell game. Meanwhile, someone at DOGE admitted the U.S. government wasn't entirely incompetent, so naturally, they got fired. Efficiency is un-American, after all.In the news, Ukraine leveled up with an unprecedented drone blitz on Russian airbases using—you guessed it—open source software. GitHub just became a geopolitical weapon. Back home, Nebraska wants to unplug your kids, Florida's trying (and failing) to legislate dopamine, and Tesla's panicking that their crash data might expose how their “Full Self-Driving” is really just short bus autopilot. And because the AI dystopia train never stops: OpenAI's bot is recommending meth to recovering addicts, Meta's replacing humans with risk-assessing algorithms, and one “AI startup” turned out to be 700 dudes in Bangalore with a decent VPN. Cue the dramatic zoom on Diabolus Ex Machina.Media Candy this week is a buffet: Downton Abbey finally closes up shop, Stranger Things 5 sets a date, and Foundation still sucks. Marc Maron's locking the gates for good, Garbage drops a surprisingly optimistic album, and Hollywood's quietly been using AI like it's a studio intern who doesn't need sleep. Over in The Library, Jason's back with Hitchhiker's Guide and Brian dives in to Michael Palin's Python diaries—because reading actual books is still a thing, damn it. Plus: Dave Bittner wants to “go antiquing” with Amy Sedaris with a Ben Franklin playbook. Closing shout-outs go to the legendary Loretta Swit—Hot Lips forever—and yes, we finally answer the question nobody asked: what is under a Jawa's hood?Sponsors:Private Internet Access - Go to GOG.Show/vpn and sign up today. We expand on insights from Episode 400 and helping us understand some additional intricacies of how Copilot works under the hood. We'll break down the different billing models and some limitations in what they provide and why having at least one $30 license is key to unlocking the semantic index. We'll also explore how Copilot uses semantic indexing to ground responses in your organization's data, and how it respects user permissions through access control lists. But it's not all smooth sailing—AC also walks us through some of the current limitations, like missing metadata and large file indexing. He also shares a potential workaround using Azure AI Search for those needing more comprehensive coverage. Finally, we this weeks Microsoft Build Conference and tease a potential future episode where ACw will return to talk about custom Copilot development. Launch Your Box Podcast with Sarah Williams | Start, Launch, and Grow Your Subscription Box
Are you 30 days away from launching your subscription box? Whether you're launching for the very first time or opening up to new subscribers again, these steps will help you build momentum, stay focused, and launch with confidence. Step 1: Set Your Launch Date (and Tell People About It) When you commit to a specific date—and announce it to your audience—everything shifts. You create urgency. You focus your content. You hold yourself accountable. So go ahead—circle it on the calendar and tell your people what's coming. Step 2: Launches Happen in the Inbox Email matters. Even if your list is small. Building know/like/trust happens in the inbox. Here's what to do: If you haven't been emailing regularly - Start now. Send one email right away, then email once a week. If you have been emailing regularly - It's time to increase frequency. Start sending two emails per week. And in every single email? Make your call-to-action: Join the waitlist. Haven't started building your email list yet? Prioritize it now. Step 3: Double Your Video Efforts Video builds trust fast—and gives you a powerful tool for retargeting. Go LIVE on Facebook. Post reels on Instagram. Share behind-the-scenes stories. Show packing day, talk about your why, or just let people see you. You can repurpose what you're emailing or posting and bring it to life through video. When people view even 3 seconds, you can retarget them with ads later. So the more you show up, the more your future customers get to know you. And again—make your call-to-action: Join the waitlist. Step 4: Drive People to Your Waitlist Your waitlist is not just a page. It's the heartbeat of your launch. These are your warmest leads—your future VIPs. So treat it like the powerful tool it is. Make it the one thing you're asking people to do every day. And if you're planning a bonus or early access offer? Use that to create urgency and get more people signed up. Step 5: Nurture Your Waitlist with a Sequence Getting people to join your waitlist is only step one. You've got to keep the energy going. Send a short email sequence that makes your future subscribers feel seen, excited, and ready to buy when you open the doors. Here's a simple plan: Welcome + Introduce Yourself Share Your Why Take Them Behind the Scenes Give a Sneak Peek of What's Coming Step 6: Run Ads to Fuel Growth Even with a small budget, running the right kinds of ads can help you grow faster. Page Like Ads – grow your Facebook audience Lead Magnet Ads – offer a freebie to build your email list Waitlist Ads – drive warm leads straight to your waitlist Ads aren't just for launch week—they're a great way to fill your funnel in the 30 days leading up to it. Don't Wait Until the Middle of Your Launch to Get Ready These 30 days? They're your prep time. You'll thank yourself when you're in the middle of your launch and you're not scrambling to “catch up.” These six steps aren't just for launch season—they're what you should be doing year-round to build a thriving subscription box business. Whether you're launching for the first time or re-opening your subscription, this episode will help you show up with confidence and a clear plan.
