This movie takes place in the Pacific Northwest in the fictional town of Portside. Filming happened in July and August 2021. "Christmas Sail" was written by Katee Sackhoff's husband Robin Gadsby. Katee also served as an Executive Producer. Emma Oliver (she played Hannah) is an award-winning Canadian actress who has over 20 film/television credits. No digital snow appeared in this movie. Terry O'Quinn was delightful in the role of Dennis. We'd like to see more of him and co-star Patrick Sabongui in more Hallmark Channel movies. IMDb reviewers gave this movie 6.2/10.
We're back! After Kendra got a little brain recovery from her vacation, April is starting us out this week with the tale of Emma Oliver, a 1930s-40s sex worker in San Antonio, Texas. After a string of arrests throughout the 30s and 40s, Emma seemed to have reached the end of her rope in 1949 when she stabbed a male acquaintance to death over $3 that he owed her. After being found guilty and sentenced to death it was determined that along with an unknown history of her childhood, she also had signs of organic brain damage, and it was stated that she was psychotic and had only limited contact with reality... The state of mental confusion and type of symptomatology seemed to indicate a definite schizoid type of psychosis. So was Emma a cold blooded killer? Or a victim of untreated mental illness and circumstance? Aired Thursday, 14 February 2019, 9:00 AM EST / 6:00 AM PSTSusan Elizabeth Hale – The Song of CreationJoin Kara Johnstad and Susan Elizabeth Hale as we explore Vocal Toning and how to find and free our true natural voice. Creator of Earth Day-Sing for the Trees and author of the juvenile fiction novel Emma Oliver and the Song of Creation (2007, Our Street Books) and Sacred Place Sacred Sound – The Acoustic Mysteries of Holy Places (1997, Quest Books), Susan Elizabeth Hale’s life work is supporting children and communities to understand the profound effect sound consciousness has on our well-being. Through her work as a music therapist and author, she helps people to explore the power of toning and its ability to raise consciousness and heal our earth. American born, Susan now lives in the Malvern hills in England with her husband Ian where they are involved with perpetual choirs, ancient yew trees and singing with children in schools.
Susan Elizabeth Hale first appeared on my show talking about Earth Day—Sing to the Trees. This time she shows us the relationship between nature and her 11-year-old female character in her book, Emma Oliver and the Song of Creation. Are we depriving our children of time to commune with nature? What kind of life will they live if they step out, look up, and listen? This is a book that teaches us to "listen with your belly, not your head." Your belly is telling you to listen to the Song of Creation. Go ahead—Activate the Power of Yes! Order the book at songkeeper.net. (I ordered two!)
In 2010 Susan Hale M.A. created an event on Facebook called Earth Day-Sing for the Trees. The idea was simple. On Earth Day, April 22, sing for the trees you love at noon wherever you are in the world. Since 2010 over 10,000 people in 41 countries have joined the song. Music therapy and sound healing have been her main career. Susan Hale has helped thousands of people find and free their natural voices through her workshops. Emma Oliver and the Song of Creation, her juvenile fiction novel releases October 28 through Our Street Books. "With the Great Mother Tree dying in the Shining Land, eleven-year-old Emma Oliver must sing the Song of Creation before it’s too late."
