Our Thoughts on Love on the Danube: Royal Getaway What We Liked Dynamic Duo:We enjoyed the chemistry between Dan Jeanotte (Joe) and Jessica Sipos (Ava). Dan consistently brings charm to his roles, and Jessica's energy was palpable. Their interactions felt genuine, contributing to the movie's overall emotional appeal. Supporting Cast:Catherine Disher's presence was a definite plus. She's the kind of character you'd want on your cruise — exuding wisdom and charm. Moreover, her scenes with Steven Pacey's Reynolds hinted at a compelling subplot that we wish had more screen time. Scenic Locations:The movie's on-location shoots were visually stunning. Budapest's beautiful landmarks and the vibrant European backdrops significantly elevated the movie. Visually, it felt more genuine and less reliant on the cliché Hallmark sets. Animated Intro:The custom animated intro for the movie was a delightful touch. It added a unique flavor and set a charming tone before delving into the story. What We Wished For Plot Predictability:While enjoyable, the movie followed the well-worn Hallmark formula a bit too closely, making it painfully predictable at times. The fake royal trope is getting tiresome, and we long for some fresh storylines in future films. More Cruise Content:For a movie centered around a cruise, there was surprisingly little "boat stuff." We hoped for more scenes showing the cruise experience, which felt sidelined in favor of land-based storytelling. ...

Watch the Trailer for The Heiress and the Handyman Our Thoughts on The Heiress and the Handyman For a comprehensive review, be sure to tune into our podcast episode where we dive deep into all the details. First Impression Our first impression of The Heiress and the Handyman? Well, the Dollar Tree fall decor was the only clue indicating this was a fall movie. Additionally, we were puzzled by the character June's wig, which became a constant distraction throughout the film. What We Liked There were a few things we appreciated: Corey Sevier and Jodie Sweetin: Both actors delivered solid performances given the material they were handed. Their individual talents helped keep the movie afloat. Community Theme: One of the elements we enjoyed was how June, played by Jodie Sweetin, found a sense of community and family in the small town. Despite her initial struggles, she began to immerse herself in her new surroundings, which was a redeeming aspect of the storyline. Fall Vibes Attempt: At least the film made some effort to provide fall vibes with a festival, pie contest, and some fall foliage B-roll shots. While not the most convincing, it was better than no attempt at all. What We Wished For Several aspects of the movie left much to be desired: Character Depth: Rich is not a personality trait, and unfortunately, June was portrayed as a very one-dimensional character. We learnt about her lavish lifestyle, but not enough about who she really was. Romance Between Bart and June: The romance felt forced and lacked substance.

What We Liked While "A Costa Rican Wedding" has its ups and downs, there were definitely standout moments that we appreciated. For starters, the film was a visual postcard for Costa Rica. The beautiful landscapes and scenic views made us want to book a flight immediately. We also found ourselves surprisingly entertained by the physical comedy, especially courtesy of Rhiannon Fish (Emily). Two standout scenes include her hilarious reactions to a tarantula on her shoulder and a slippery tumble down a rain-soaked hill. These moments felt genuine and added a lighthearted touch to the movie. A memorable character that won our hearts was Esteban, the monkey guy. His role in saving the day by finding the lost backpack was both amusing and endearing. Plus, those white-faced 'rally monkeys' added a fun twist. We have to give a nod to Christopher Russell (Ryan). Wendy recently likened him to a budget Aaron O'Connell, but in this movie, he proved his mettle. He and Rhiannon carried the film with their chemistry and elevated performances.

She will also direct “Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Moon and Back” out in 2025. Martha Williamson and Brandi Harkonen wrote the script. Zak Santiago and Gregory Harrison return as Ramon and Joe. Rhiannon Fish returns as Charley. Ian Collins plays Marlon Carter. This appears to be Ian's 8th Hallmark movie and his 40th acting credit. Outside of Hallmark he is appearing on the sci-fi series “Snowpiercer.” Edward Ruttle plays Barry. Our favorite of Edward's 35 acting credits is his role as Beer Luge Guy in “Hot Tub Time Machine” - his very first credited role. He's previously been on Hallmark in “A Season for Family,” “Just one Kiss,” “When Calls the Heart” and several episodes of “The Good Witch.”  Jennifer Juniper Angeli plays Mrs Philpott. Jennifer has 49 acting credits and appeared in “Pumpkin Pie Wars” and “Making Spirits Bright” previously for Hallmark. She also had a role in the sci-fi book adaptation “Wayward Pines” as well as the Netflix series “Haters Back Off.” Victoria Morgan plays Maria Salinger. This is Victoria's first Hallmark movie and her 11th acting credit. She previous appeared in the TV series “Alert: Missing Persons Unit,” “Supernatural,” and “Surface.”  Watch the Trailer for "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: A Tale of Three Letters" Our Thoughts on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: A Tale of Three Letters" Welcome back to another installment of Girls Gone Hallmark! This time, we covered the final installment of Science Seal Delivered Summer for 2024, diving into "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: A Tale of Three Letters". Here's a synopsis of the ideas and insights we discussed on our podcast. If you haven't tuned in yet, we'd love for you to join us and become a part of the conversation! What We Liked Norman's Character Development: We absolutely adored seeing Norman step up as the marital mentor to Oliver. His growth throughout the series has been remarkable, and his easy and sincere advice made those scenes shine. Normalization of Therapy: Both of us appreciated how the movie normalized therapy for healthy relationships. The depiction of Shane, Oliver, Rita, and Norman going through therapy sessions made it clear that seeking help is a healthy and necessary step for any relationship. Sweet, Small Moments: Several little moments made us smile—from Norman's adorable comment about the sonogram picture to Shane and Oliver's flirty interaction post-honeymoon. These touches gave the film warmth and humor. What We Wished For Character Consistency: There were a few moments that felt out of character, especially Oliver's unempathetic interaction with Charlie. It seemed like an entirely different writer had come in an...

About "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Road Less Traveled" The Vows We Have Made originally premiered on October 17, 2021. Linda-Lisa Hayter directed “The Vows We Have Made.” Hayter currently has 14 directing credits and is known for movies like “Cranberry Christmas,” “Unexpected Grace,” the most recent SSD: “A Tale of Three Letters.” She will also direct the upcoming SSD: “To the Moon and Back.” Hayter was also a 2022 Leo Award Nominee for Best Direction in a Television Movie. The script was written by Martha Williamson. All of our regulars return, including Gregory Harrison as Joe, Zak Santiago as Ramon, Jill Morrison as Hazel. Rhiannon Fish makes her SSD debut as Charley. Fish has 27 acting credits and most recently returned as Charley in “The Tale of Three Letters.” Sherry Miller plays Shane's mom Sharon. Miller has a whopping 98 acting credits and is known for Hallmark projects like “Pride, Prejudice and Mistletoe” and “Family History Mysteries: Buried Past.” She will appear in “Hot Frosty” coming to Netflix this winter starring Lacey Chabert. Jude Wilson plays teenage Owen. He has 23 acting credits and has appeared in Hallmark movies like “In Merry Measure” and “Campfire Christmas.” Carol Burnett, Valerie Harper, and Marion Ross all appear via archived footage. Watch the Trailer for "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Vows We Have Made" Our Thoughts on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Vows We Have Made" What We Loved about SSD: "The Vows We Have Made" We were incredibly impressed with this movie. Let's talk about the things that warmed our hearts: Beautifully Written Dialogue: The movie was wonderfully written, with many profound lines like "trust the timing" and poignant themes about holding on and letting go. Humor Amidst Tears: Even though the last 20 minutes were packed with tear-jerking moments, there were great light-hearted instances that provided the perfect balance. Character Development: Seeing characters like Sharon, Shane's mom, evolve was a joy. Her relationship with Oliver was emotionally compelling, especially when she offers to be the mother he deserved. Creative Problem-Solving: Martha Williamson's writing shines as Rita and Norman decide to help Charlie, a young mother. Instead of adopting her baby, they invite her to live with them. It's an unconventional but touching solution. Flashbacks: The flashbacks to previous episodes were not just nostalgic but added depth to the overall narrative, making this feel like a fitting wrap-up to the series. What We Wished For While we loved most of the movie, there were a couple of things we wished were different: Rita, Norman, and Charlie Triangle: The timeline here was a bit confusing. How long have Rita and Norman been trying to have a baby? And the idea of them taking in Charlie and her baby seemed rushed and unconventional. Shane's Sister: Shane's sister, who had a big part in a previous movie, didn't make an appearance, not even a mention.

About "My Dreams of You" - Hallmark (2024) Directed by: Kevin Fair. Kevin has 49 directing credits and in addition to the slew of Signed, Sealed, Delivered movies he's directed, he has also recently directed: "For Love and Honey," "Legend of the Lost Locket," "A Season for Family," "Checkin it Twice" and "3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost."  Written by: Gary Templeton and Marcy Holland Marcy Holland has 47 writing credits including hits like "A Biltmore Christmas," and the upcoming "Christmas Quest."  This is Gary Templeton's eleventh writing credit, although his first for Hallmark. His other credits include movies like "Corduroy," and "Frog Goes to Dinner."  Skyler Samuels plays Grace. Skyler has 32 acting credits and this is her second Hallmark appearance. She got her start in s how's like "Drake and Josh," "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and "That's so Raven." She went on to play Gabby Petito in "The Gabby Petito Story." She's now playing Young Aurora Teagarden in the "Aurora Teagarden Mysteries."  Kapil Talwalkar plays Michael. Kapil has 21 acting credits including the entire run of "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" as well as 16 episodes of the "Night Court" reboot. This is his first Hallmark appearance.  Cecilia Lee plays Alura. This is a breakout role for Cecilia who has just seven acting credits (four of which are short films.) This is also her first Hallmark appearance.  David Rosser plays Harvey. This is not David's first hallmark appearance as he was also in "Paging Mr. Darcy" and "Never Too Late to Celebrate." He has 43 total acting credits.  “My Dreams of You” was filmed in Canada's Ottawa and surrounding areas. Talwalkar revealed that he wrote an original song with Lauren Ray for the movie. Watch the Trailer for "My Dreams of You" Our Thoughts on "My Dreams of You" What We Liked Firstly, big kudos to Hallmark for embracing diversity with "My Dreams of You". One of the film's strengths is its casting. We were thrilled to see an Indian American actor, Kapil Talwalkar, in the leading role. It felt fresh and exciting, breaking from the typical mold of Hallmark leads. Plus, let's not forget Cecilia Lee, who shone as Allura and, for us, stole the spotlight in every scene she was in. Speaking of characters, we appreciated Skylar Samuels as Grace. It seems Hallmark might be grooming her for the spotlight. From her earlier roles in shows like "Drake and Josh" to her Hallmark mystery stints, she's proving to be a rising star. As for the plot, Dream Central was a fascinating concept. We loved the big swings Hallmark took with this idea, even if it got a bit confusing at times (we'll get to that later!). And how adorable was that rain-soaked kiss? It brought a genuine sense of romance and progress to Grace and Michael's budding relationship without fast-forwarding to unrealistic love declarations. What We Wished For Now, onto our wishes. The movie didn't come without its flaws. We found that it suffered from a lack of clear direction in the storytelling. The dual dreams and real-life struggles theme felt a bit overstuffed. Dream Central could have easily carried the plot without needing both leads to chase professio...

About "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Road Less Traveled" Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Road Less Traveled was directed by Kevin Fair. Martha Williamson wrote the script. Eric Mabius (Oliver O'Toole) Kristin Booth (Shane) Crystal Lowe (Rita) Geoff Gustafson (Norman) Many of our favorite supporting characters return in this movie: Gregory Harrison as Joe O'Toole, Barry Bostwick as Rita's dad Bill, Zak Santiago as Ramon, Carol Burnett as Ardis, Jill Morrison as Hazel, Keb Mo as Gabe.  Janet Kidder plays Annaliese. Janet has 72 acting credits which includes "Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas" and "Christmas for Keeps" for Hallmark. She was also in "The Man in the High Castle" and "Star Trek Discovery." Jessica Sipos plays daughter Jessica. Jessica has 24 acting credits. This was her first appearance on Hallmark having previously appeared on UnREAL. For Hallmark she has also been in "Chesapeake Shores," "A Season for Family," and "Betty's Bad Luck in Love." Barbara Wallace plays wedding dress designed Evelyn. Barbara has 48 acting credits as well as 70 stage credits. For Hallmark she has also recently appeared in "To All a Good Night," "The Cases of Mystery Lane," and "The Christmas Contest."  Watch the Trailer for "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Altar" Our Thoughts on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Altar" What We Loved There was so much to love about 'To the Altar' that it's hard to know where to start! Firstly, we adored the chemistry between the main characters—particularly the friendship between Norman and Oliver. Those tuxedo scenes? Pure gold. Oliver's tender moment of buttoning up Shane's wedding dress was a beautiful touch. Nice directing from Kevin Fair on that one! Norman's horror-stricken face at his bachelor party when he saw the cake was hilarious. And let's not forget Oliver's freakout about shrimp sauce at the same event! On the emotional front, the portrayal of Annalise and Jessica's reunion struck a chord. Writer Martha Williamson tackled the complicated issues of mental health and homelessness with such grace and nuance; it left us in tears. The connection between Rita's loss and Jessica's reconnection with Annalise was a poignant example of beautifully woven storytelling. And who could overlook Keb Mo's soulful singing? Hearing him perform just elevated our viewing experience. Finally, the proposal scene between Shane and Oliver was everything we hoped for. Seeing Oliver wear the tie was a moment that had us gasping and reaching for tissues. What We Wished For Even in Hallmark heaven, there are a few things that could have used a bit of tweaking. First on our wish list is more closure for Colleen Camp's character, Sonny. Her sudden spelunking accident felt abrupt and left us wanting more context. While we learned from various sources that there were off-screen issues that might have led to this plot choice, the transition was jarring. Speaking of specifics, cave diving or "spelunking" as the cause of death seemed unusually dark for Hallmark standards.

Since then she has appeared in 4 additional Hallmark movies to round out her 41 acting credits. Related: Autumn Reeser's 20th Movie for Hallmark Here's What We Thought We loved Autumn Reeser as Juniper, a woman in the throes of middle age who must reconnect with her youthful dreams. We see Juniper navigate her life with both humor and emotional depth. She experiences a revelation that it's never too late to follow one's dreams—an inspiring message for viewers of all ages. New Wowie Zowie Alert! Aaron O'Connell, playing Alex, delivers a standout performance. Alex, who becomes a significant part of Juniper's journey, perfectly captures the essence of a supportive and understanding partner. Alex recognizes Juniper's true self and supports her in embracing her inner child. Little Junebug (Mila Jones) We were split on our opinion of Mila Jones, portraying the young Juniper, adds a layer of innocence and charm to the film. While her character can be seen as precocious at times, she does a commendable job of embodying the spirit and curiosity of a young child. A Message We Can Relate To! One of the most beautiful messages of "Junebug" is that it's never too late to pursue your dreams. The movie emphasizes that every moment is the right moment and encourages viewers to stand up for ...
