This episode is brought to you by Villa Carina Apartments in beautiful Bonaire. In this episode, we catch up with Kiran Verma, a passionate pro wing foiler and content creator from Australia's Sunshine Coast. Joining Luc from across the globe, Kiran shares his inspiring journey into the sport at age 37, his recent switch to North gear, and the highs of pushing limits in a rapidly evolving industry. From mastering foil slides to dissecting his favorite setups, Kiran offers an honest look at what it takes to progress, the joy of community connections, and the transformative power of foiling at any age.Journey into Foiling: Kiran reflects on starting wing foiling later in life, now at 41, and how it changed everything—from traveling to places like Cape Verde, Fiji, Mauritius, Brazil, and Chile, to embracing rejection and training harder. He emphasizes the mental freedom of pursuing passion without caring about judgments, and how foiling has brought happiness despite life's demands.Switching to North Gear: Kiran details his transition to North after positive experiences with their foils, highlighting the SF-530 for tight turns and the SF-680 for versatile light-wind performance. He praises the brand's receptiveness, community support (like backing Max Robinson and We Can Foil), and gear like the 55L Swell board, while sharing how video analysis helped refine his riding.Gear Breakdown and Tips: Diving into his go-to setup—a 680 front wing, 145 stabilizer, 60cm fuse, and 85cm mast—Kiran explains why he sticks to minimal changes for consistency. He discusses foil slides inspired by riders like Cash Berzolla, the appeal of short boards for prone foiling, and why foiling appeals to the 40-70 age group with its technical, accessible nature.Community and Growth: The duo explores the sport's potential to go mainstream, comparing it to golf for its niche appeal and inclusivity. Kiran stresses the need for more entry-level programs to grow foiling beyond the elite, the role of small brands in innovation, and how sessions clear the mind like nothing else.Future Plans: Kiran teases upcoming trips, possibly to Morocco for right-handers or Cape Town for King of the Air, plus content on learning new tricks like one-hand grabs. He hints at deeper involvement with North's R&D and a desire to see foiling explode in popularity.Follow Kiran - https://www.instagram.com/kv_foil/

Population Explosion by 2030 is Happening Here Thinking about where the next big property hotspot might be? In this episode, Todd and Dawn Fouhy explore why this suburb in Victoria could be one to watch, with huge growth potential and some surprising numbers behind it. If you're eyeing the next up-and-coming city, this episode will give you plenty to think about—and maybe even a few spots you'll want to look into yourself.

Today I'm joined by Laura Rose for a 4-week entrepreneur series where I dive into their biggest business lesson. Laura is a registered Therapeutic Counsellor, Life Design Coach, and host of Seasons of Self. We talk about living and leading with the seasons, why “everything is urgent” is a nervous-system lie, and how true capacity grows when we regulate (not when we push through burnout). Laura shares her pivot from corporate “always on” to a nature-led practice, the moment her grandfather's diagnosis became a wake-up call, and practical somatic check-ins you can start using today. We also get into her biggest entrepreneur lesson: the dance between structure and intuition, building a business that's sustainable because it's seasonal. ✨Urgency culture vs. a regulated nervous system (polyvagal basics you can feel)✨Burnout, awakening, and the slow evolution under every “big leap”✨Seasonal living for entrepreneurs: launches, energy, and rest windows✨Capacity-building after burnout: how resilience returns in a regulated body✨Choosing clients (and cadences) that honor your season Laura is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor and Life Design Coach who guides women home to themselves. Rooted on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, her work weaves somatic therapy, nature wisdom, and mindfulness to help people move from exhaustion and self-doubt into clarity, connection, and alignment. Through her practice, Laura Rose Wellness, and her podcast, Seasons of Self, she invites us to honor the cyclical nature of life—embracing each inner and outer season as a sacred teacher on the path to wholeness.

Sarah-Jane's journey begins in the unexpected transition from England's Sherwood Forest to Australia's Sunshine Coast, a bold move that ultimately led her to a life-changing encounter with Jesus. Growing up in a nominally Christian household but facing trauma and depression in her youth, Sarah-Jane spiraled into unhealthy patterns before making the decision to travel across the world for a fresh start. What follows is a remarkable story of transformation that illustrates the beautiful contrast in how God works. In one profound moment at church, Sarah-Jane experienced Jesus removing what felt like a heavy, water-soaked World War II trench coat from her shoulders, instantly lifting the burden of her past pain and mistakes. This immediate deliverance stands in stark contrast to another significant spiritual marker in her life: receiving a prophetic word about "widening her tent pegs" from Isaiah 54, a direction she's still unpacking years later. This duality becomes a powerful reminder for listeners navigating their own faith journeys. In a culture demanding instant results, Sarah-Jane's testimony validates both the immediate miracles and the long, seemingly silent seasons of waiting. Whether you're experiencing a wilderness season or seeking encouragement in your faith journey, Sarah-Jane's parting wisdom resonates deeply: "It's okay to not have all your ducks in a row... God totally has this, even if it just doesn't feel like it in the moment." John Batchelor is the host of the Friends of History Debating Society. He broadcasts from New England, where he is currently entering autumn, contrasting with Jeremy Zakis's springtime in New South Wales. He refers to Jeremy Zakisas his "good mate." Batchelor often guides the conversation with Jeremy Zakis, asking about: The emergence of venomous snakes in springtime, referring to this period as "the first act of the thriller." He asks about snake catchers' procedures and the questions asked at clinics regarding snake bites. He also raises a personal experience of hitting something in overgrown grass, pondering if it could have been a snake if he were in Australia. Batchelor notes that discussing springtime with Jeremy is "far more interesting" than preparing his own garden for winter's colder days. He also discusses python sightings, specifically mentioning a photograph of two pythons battling on a library roof on the Sunshine Coast, questioning if such an event is ordinary for an urban area. He emphasizes that he is in New England, in the "northern temperate zone," while Jeremy Zakis is in the "southern temperate zone."
