Fading Memories: Alzheimer's Caregiver Support

So many thoughts & sentiments left unsaid - until now! Tech options for seniors may not be something you're aware of but no longer!  I share two very different options for ways to preserve your legacy and maintain communication in this episode. I speak first with Aaron the founder of Legacysphere℠.  We pass down material items with a Will, and take care of our loved ones' finances with Life Insurance. NOW you can take care of the whole person. Legacysphere℠ gives you the ability, while you are alive to compose personal messages for your survivors which they will receive after your death. I thought this seemed a little bit morbid at first but our conversation turned my thinking around. Now I'm a fan. As you'll hear in our conversation this is something I wish my Dad had known about and taken advantage of.  Leaving me with lots of unanswered questions and confusion might have been avoided. Timeless App (Coming early 2019) Timeless is an app specifically created for those in the early stages of Alzheimers. After my conversation with Aaron I talked to Emma Yang a very young tech entrepreneur. Creating an app for people with early to mid-stage Alzheimer's or dementia has been Emma's focus for 2+ years. Timeless is a first-of-its-kind, simple, easy to use app for people living with Alzheimer’s. It helps them to remember events, stay connected and engaged with friends and family. People are also aided in recognizing family and friends through facial recognition technology. Emma's  got some other ideas once the app has launched which is scheduled for early 2019. Making the most of every resource will help our loved ones live better longer. I became aware of the Timeless app in early summer 2018. Emma has used her personal experience with her Grandmother to create something that surely will help thousands of people living with Alzheimers.  People with Alzheimer's may even benefit from using this app through the stimulation it gives their brain. Check out Legacysphere! Check out Timeless Care!

Sincerely, Hueman: Stories of Kindness and Doing Good

Emma Yang grew up with her grandma. She took care of Emma, read books to her, helped Emma with her homework and took her to places while Emma's parents were at work. Over the years, Emma felt like she was losing her grandma to Alzheimer's disease, an illness that plagues nearly 44 million people worldwide, and is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. Emma wanted to get her back. At 13 years old, Emma is creating an app called Timeless, an app that uses facial recognition software to help Alzheimer's patients remember and stay connected with family and friends. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/sincerelyhueman/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/sincerelyhueman/support
