This Monday show started out with a Monday Mailbag question regarding the new seven-inning doubleheaders and how to handicap those. After host Adam Burke answered that, he talked about offense being down around the league, how oddsmakers have already adjusted, and about what we saw over the weekend between the A’s and Astros, Rays and Yankees, and Royals and Twins. Adam talked about some bullpen regression signs and some starting pitchers with noteworthy ERA/FIP splits that are likely to induce some line moves before giving a pick for Monday’s card. He wrapped up the show with thoughts on White Sox vs. Tigers, Marlins vs. Blue Jays, Diamondbacks vs. Rockies, and Athletics vs. Angels.

Host Adam Burke took listeners into The Bettor’s Box to chat about some pitchers to have your eye on once the baseball season actually rolls around. Adam took a look at some of the biggest ERA-FIP discrepancies out there from 2019 and talked about why they are a thing and what they mean going forward. These are names that you’ll want to file away for the start of the season and also for your fantasy baseball drafts when you are eyeing those pitchers in the later rounds. Adam looked at potential positive regression candidates and potential negative regression candidates based on the statistics from last year. Write these names down and keep them in mind. We’ll be talking about a lot more of them as we go forward.

Even though it's a holiday, it's a Monday, which means that host Adam Burke has a new edition of The Bettor's Box for our BangTheBook Radio listeners. Adam took the airwaves to recap what we saw last weekend in series between the Braves and Cardinals, Phillies and Brewes, and Red Sox and Astros. He took a look at the pitchers with the biggest ERA-FIP and wOBA-xwOBA differences to give you an idea of which pitchers are in line for positive regression, negative regression, and some better fortunes. A look Down the Lines recapped line moves from last week and Adam also took a look at five series for this week, with his thoughts on Padres vs. Yankees, Indians vs. Red Sox, Brewers vs. Twins, Cardinals vs. Phillies, and Cubs vs. Astros.
Host Adam Burke doesn’t like to take days off with The Bettor’s Box or on BangTheBook Radio, so Memorial Day or not, the show went on as scheduled. After some opening remarks about the holiday, Adam got down to it with thoughts on Braves vs. Cardinals, Phillies vs. Brewers, and also Red Sox vs. Astros. Then he looked at the big ERA-FIP and wOBA-xwOBA regression guys to get out in front of line moves and look for betting opportunities. A recap of line moves from the weekend in the Down the Lines segment gave way to today’s show free pick. Adam then previewed Padres vs. Yankees, Indians vs. Red Sox, Brewers vs. Twins, Cardinals vs. Phillies, and Cubs vs. Astros to round out the show.
