Today's word of the day is ‘prioritize' as in Tiger Woods as in stepping away as in getting help. Tiger Woods has announced he is done with golf for now and is seeking treatment after his latest car accident and arrest. (12:00) Let's go through a bunch of MLB topics. Are you worried about your team? Are you worried about your players? Calm down. (23:00) We've got new record deals! No service time, no problem! The Mariners did it. The Brewers did it again. (33:38) Review: Send Help. (36:00) NPPOD. (38:10) The Florida Attorney General came at the NFL over the Rooney Rule. Said the league needs to abolish it. Well, Roger Goodell fired back and said it isn't going anywhere. (45:15) The NFL is now in the hiring process for replacement refs. Uh oh. Learn more about your ad choices. Salk shares his thoughts on the results of the ABS Challenge System through a few games and how he is feeling about it early on. They then re-air their conversation with Jason Benetti of NBC to get his takeaways from the Mariners first weekend and what he saw during the Sunday Night Baseball. Finally, they respond to the breaking news of the Mariners extending Colt Emerson and what this means for both him and the Mariners going forward.
Brock and Salk react to the Mariners extending Colt Emerson and why it fits the Mariners team philosophy that they continue to deploy. They then discuss the Mariners walking off the Yankees last night and Cal Raleigh coming up clutch in the 9th inning. In Blue 88, topics include a potential Seahawks trade in the draft, what jumped out about the latest Tory Horton injury news and why the Seahawks added former UW offensive coordinator Jimmy Daugherty to the staff.
Brock and Salk listen to some sound from Sean McVay in which he sounds pretty salty, and Salk has a theory as to why he could be feeling that way. Later, Jeff Passan of ESPN joins the show to share his thoughts on the Colt Emerson extension, why the Mariners wanted to get this deal done, the Mariners first week of play and much more.
RUNDOWN Mitch and Hotshot open with a Tiger Woods' DUI arrest following a car crash, debating addiction, accountability, and whether his injuries and surgeries contribute to a potential dependency on painkillers. The conversation mixes empathy with frustration, as they explore the limits of wealth, resources, and personal responsibility. Mitch and Hotshot kick around Final Four structure—including why reseeding will never happen—while also noting UConn's dominance and the imbalance of the current bracket. They mix in lighter observations like Charles Barkley's noticeable weight loss before turning to baseball, where the Mariners split their opening series despite historically poor production from the heart of the lineup. Mitch is joined by Brady Farkas and Joe Doyle after the Mariners open the season with a four-game split against Cleveland, despite getting almost nothing from the middle of the order. The conversation centers on slow starts from Julio Rodríguez, Cal Raleigh, and Josh Naylor, while Brendan Donovan emerges as an early bright spot. The guys also debate mounting criticism of manager Dan Wilson's bullpen and lineup decisions, assess encouraging signs from the starting rotation and Emerson Hancock's standout outing, and look ahead to a critical stretch against the Yankees and Angels. Mitch and The Ringer's Danny Kelly break down the upcoming NFL Draft, where uncertainty at the top—especially at quarterback—could lead to major movement. Kelly explains why this year's QB class lacks a slam-dunk No. 1 pick, how team needs may outweigh pure talent evaluation, and which prospects could rise late in the process. Mitch joins Jason Puckett to dissect the art of interviewing—specifically why trying to be funny can backfire and why cell phone guests almost always kill timing, pacing, and chemistry. The conversation turns into a masterclass on radio fundamentals, with Mitch explaining his strict "no cell phone" philosophy and how production control separates good interviews from disasters. Along the way, he mixes in classic storytelling—from awkward guest moments to legendary encounters with Dean Smith and Vern Lundquist—highlighting both the craft and chaos of live radio. GUESTS Brady Farkas | Host, Refuse to Lose podcast Joe Doyle | MLB analyst, Over Slot Danny Kelly | The Ringer / NFL Draft Analyst Jason Puckett | KJ-Aren'ts / Puck Drop TABLE OF CONTENTS 0:00 | Tiger Woods' latest DUI arrest sparks a real conversation on addiction, while March Madness rolls on and the birthday game delivers. 22:02 | From Final Four format debates to Charles Barkley's shrinking suits, Mitch and Scott pivot to a Mariners offense already raising questions. 36:42 | Mariners No-Table: Slow Bats, Early Panic, and a Needed Split. Mitch breaks down why interviews fail, why cell phones ruin everything, and shares classic KJR stories from Dean Smith to Vern Lundquist. 1:56:56 | Other Stuff Segment: Puka Nacua accusation update, Mariners TV broadcast mess, JSN becomes highest-paid WR, Sonics return vs OKC drama, Dodgers fan fights, Hubert Davis fired at UNC, Sherrone Moore arrest video RIPs: Joey Browner (65), Barrett Robbins, James Tolkan (94), Dash Crofts (85) HEADLINES: Man gropes Easter Bunny at mall; intruder sentenced for toe-sucking assault; FBI director Gmail hacked; cocaine sharks in Bahamas; armless/legless suspect in shooting case
Brock and Salk discuss what they learned and what stood out to them during the Mariners opening series against the Guardians. Later, Jason Benetti of NBC (who was on the Sunday Night baseball broadcast for the Mariners) joins the show to discuss what he took away from the Mariners weekend of the year, what makes the Guardians tough and much more.
The hour starts with Blue 88, with topics including Mike Macdonald continuing to build his popularity, a name that is becoming more popular in Seahawks mock drafts and who one site favors to be the next owner of the Seahawks. After that, Brock and Salk get into all of both the good and the bad from the Mariners first weekend (but mostly good).
Sean McVay brought up the Seahawks 2 pt conversion again at the NFL's annual meeting. Why are the Rams being so whiny about this? Then, M's insider Shannon Drayer joins the show to discuss her biggest takeaways from Mariners opening weekend.
Mariners conclude their opening weekend 2-2 against Cleveland and Salk shares what he took away. Then, they go Around The Weekend with stories from the Mariners, March Madness and more.
On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett and Jim Moore are back recapping the first week of the baseball season for the M's, the television fiasco with the team, struggles of their middle order, Sonics expansion news, food etiquette on a plane, Tiger Woods and the Masters is 10 days away! Beat Migs! Let's talk Mariners baseball.
Beat Migs! We go straight to the comments.
Sundays in Seattle are for Steelheads! Before the season began, it was announced that the Seattle Mariners would wear Seattle Steelheads uniforms on every home Sunday. The Steelheads were a Negro League baseball team in the brief West Coast Negro Baseball Association in 1946. They are part of Pacific Northwest Black history, though the league folded after two months.Building on this announcement, seeing the uniforms in action produced unexpected emotion and tremendous pride. The Mariners' media team did an excellent job telling the story of the Steelheads and included members from the community in their inaugural presentation. The uniforms look amazing, and this proactive action by the Mariners, who do not have a storied history in Negro League folklore, should afford the opportunity for teams like the Royals (Kansas City Monarchs), Cubs and White Sox (Chicago American Giants), Nationals (Homestead/Washington Grays), Phillies (Hilldale), Pirates (Grays & Crawford's), Orioles (Elite Giants and Black Sox), and many more MLB teams to honor their past in an exciting way. And, let's be honest, new uniforms bring in new revenue for the club too. It's a great business move.Turning to game action, the Dodgers, Blue Jays, Yankees, and Brewers are still undefeated. That may not come as a surprise to most; those teams all were in the playoffs last year, with stacked rosters. But, there is another team that is undefeated that is a surprise: Shout out to the Marlins. The Miami Marlins are 3-0 after sweeping the Rockies. Yes, I know the Rockies are trash, but live it up, MIA.Looking more closely at the 2-1 teams, the Nationals were impressive, taking two wins in Chicago against the Cubs. The Rangers took two wins in Philly, and Andrew McCutchen hit extremely well. The Reds taking two off the Red Sox was unexpected. Most pundits have labeled the Red Sox the team to watch. I know it's early, but the MLB season is off to a hot start. To wrap things up, thank you for sharing part of your morning with BBM. A new podcast will be recorded live tonight at 9 PM EST. You can watch on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, or you can wait for the audio on Tuesday morning. See you tomorrow.

Munaf Manji and Dave Essler talk betting for Friday. The Cash That Ticket podcast returns for a stacked Friday edition covering three MLB games from the opening weekend card, two confirmed Elite Eight matchups with live lines, and a pair of best bets to send listeners into the weekend with a plan. Host Munaf Manji and veteran handicapper Uncle Diamond Dave Esler open the show on a high note, with Dave having cashed his Pregame.com dollar best bet the night before on Texas covering against Purdue, a play he held firm on despite the line moving from 7 to 8.5. The MLB conversation starts with the A's visiting Toronto, where Dave makes the case against Kevin Gausman at a steep price point, citing shaky early-season splits and a structural argument against backing home teams on the run line when they might not bat in the ninth. Both hosts like the under 9 on a cold night with the Rogers Centre roof closed, and Munaf takes the plus-money A's given Luis Severino's strong road profile from last season. The Royals and Braves provide the pitching matchup of the night, with Cole Ragans facing Chris Sale in Atlanta. Dave leans into Royals history against Sale, highlights Salvador Perez's success in career at-bats against the veteran lefty, and notes Sale's pattern of allowing three or more earned runs in his first four outings of a season. Both hosts agree on under 7.5 and find value with Kansas City at plus money. The third game sends the Guardians to Seattle for Game 2 of a series Cleveland opened with a 6-4 victory. Dave challenges the assumption that the Mariners automatically bounce back, pointing to taxed bullpens on both sides, George Kirby's history of being managed carefully on innings, and Gavin Williams' quiet effectiveness against Seattle in limited head-to-head history. The Guardians run line in the first five innings is the preferred play. The show then shifts to Saturday's Elite Eight, with Dave and Munaf covering both confirmed games. Iowa gets the points against Illinois, with both handicappers respecting the familiarity factor between Big Ten programs that already played a close game this season, and cautioning against overreacting to Illinois' dominant win over Houston. Arizona gets the stronger endorsement, with Dave breaking down Purdue's difficult tournament path, its free throw-dependent win over Miami, and a late scare from Texas before facing a Wildcats team that dropped 109 on Arkansas and holds a top-three defense nationally. Best bets close the episode, with Dave backing Michigan team total under 91.5 based on the weakness of the Wolverines' previous tournament opponents, and Munaf laying the points with the LA Clippers against the Indiana Pacers behind Kawhi Leonard's recent form and Darius Garland's fit alongside him in the backcourt.
