We brought in two of our buddy Dan Stornaiuolo’s hilarious and engaging brothers, Dom and Mike, to give an outsider’s perspective on powerlifting accomplishments – particularly their “little” brother’s lifting. Don and Mike host the Bridge to Bridge Podcast featuring interviews with SF Bay Area sports figures. Both grew up as athletes, so we unpack and contrast training and competition experiences among various sports. Other questions that came up: Do Silent Mike and Dom look alike and what celebrities do they remind people of? What activities have they used to stay sane during the pandemic? Why can nobody locate their dad’s episode of “Dirty Jobs?” Did a van really run over Dan’s leg when he was a kid? This is part 1 of 2. You can find part 2 on an upcoming episode of The Bridge to Bridge podcast with Mike Stornaiuolo and Dominick Bei. And check out their Instagram @bridgetobridgepodcast Dan is @stormcloud415 on IG. We invited our old friend and training partner, Fat Dan, into the studio to talk about his private security business, and the disruptions were all facing in the wake of the Coronavirus. Why do people continue to put themselves in unsafe, crowded situations right now? Should you quit your full-time job to work for yourself? What (or who) is Diet Caramel and how do you get into that? As the winter comes, so does the weight gain. It’s a fact of life that as it gets colder our bodies get fatter. It’s biology. This has been the cycle since the caveman eras. So as we enter a new year it’s always good to reflect upon, and try to figure out, just how slobingly large we have become and what, if anything, we can do to try and alleviate some of the unnecessary mass we’ve begun to carry around our fare city. On this very, very, special episode of MITM, the monsters open up their channel to their friends at Winter Weight Radio Fat Jack and Fat Dan as they discuss all things chub related. Hope you tune in. Blessings.
Kyle Bledsoe is a fabulous musician who has been perfecting his craft for years now. He established himself in the Lafayette, IN scene, and now lives in Indianapolis, where he can be seen regularly doing his acoustic sets at Fat Dan's and other spots (including some Anthem work at Colts games!). Kyle's new project is "Milkman and the Jugs". Kyle's debut with them will be at the Vogue on 7/20, and there will be many more gigs. This rockin' band has a unique feature of two (count 'em, two) bass players! We discussed the band, the new music, and being a professional musician with a family, including his son Leo and partner Kali. We also include 2 Milkman tunes for your enjoyment. When I first met this young man some years ago, I had a feeling he was going to crush it. Consider it crushed.

In this episode of the Pete the Planner® Show, I talk visualization. If you are wandering aimlessly through your financial life, this is the key you are missing. Visualizing the financial life you want is a great tool to get you motivated to achieve it. You use visualization every single day. For me, it’s usually food. Any given day you can find me visualizing the Fat Havana Burger from Fat Dan’s. Sigh. So good. Every day, my brain is making plans and thinking through ways I can get the sandwich I want. There is a dark side to visualization though. If you are in a high-pressure situation, you may cycle through the worst possible outcomes. Visualization can often lead to self-fulfilling prophecy territory, for better or worse. For our purposes, we’ll go with better. Apply the practice of visualization to your retirement. You probably don’t spend too much time imagining your retirement, but take a minute and imagine complete financial independence. What do you see? My visualization came to me in full force when I was boarding a flight a few weeks ago. On my way to coach, I passed an elderly couple sitting in first class, passports in hand, and looking as content as could be. I spent the rest of that flight thinking about what it would be like for my wife and me to be in their place, years down the road. I realized, “That’s what I want.” For the first time in my life, I could picture what retirement would look like for me personally. Maybe for you, it’s fishing all day, starting a garden, buying a boat, whatever. Picture your own retirement. Go ahead. Dream big. Let that visualization be the fuel that pushes you toward reaching your retirement goal.
