POPULARITY
When the experienced and much travelled sustainability designers, Frank O'Connor and Jude Sherry of Anois identified and mapped out over 300 derelict properties in Cork city that can be restored for much needed housing, creative and work spaces you start to take notice BUT you automatically come up with many reasons why it is not possible. Frank and Jude debunk not only these reasons (myths) but also use other cities they have personally experienced including Amsterdam and Bristol as examples where it does happen. It is possible, but what does it take to make it happen? Enjoy the show! On Aug. 18, 2019, Pastor Jenny Warner preached on "Releasing What Binds Us" at Valley Presbyterian. She started by summarizing an Irish short story, "The First Confession" by Frank O'Connor. As she continued, she demonstrated that only through confessing do we let down our guard and open ourselves fully to truth telling. When we "live in confession" and openly tell our truth, we discover the joy of being loved by God, just as we are, and we are able to move forward, rather than being blocked in a damaging, defensive posture. We must confess the truth, otherwise we get "stuck" in denial. www.valleypreschurch.org

Video Game Movie Anatomy hosts break down Video Game inspired movies to answer the age old question: DO GAMES MAKE GOOD MOVIES?!?! In today's episode, hosts Mark Donica, Stacey Shuttleworth and Patrick Dees discuss Halo Legends, Bungies reveal of Destiny 2, initial thoughts on Injustice 2 and more! Halo Legends is a collection of seven short anime films set in the Halo science-fiction universe. Financed by Halo franchise overseer 343 Industries, the stories were created by six Japanese production houses: Bee Train, Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio 4°C, and Toei Animation. Shinji Aramaki, creator and director of Appleseed and Appleseed Ex Machina, serves as the project's creative director. Warner Bros. released Legends on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on February 16, 2010. The idea for an anime compilation existed for years before there was momentum for the project. 343 creative director Frank O'Connor produced story outlines or finished scripts that
Anne Enright joins Deborah Treisman to read and discuss Frank O'Connor's "The Masculine Principle," from a 1950 issue of the magazine.

This week Red fills in for Baka and things get weird. Wait. Aren't they always weird? Our hosts talk about their spooky stream of Damned. Giggly ghosts and stone cold killers. That's all we'll tell you beforehand. Red talks about killing tribe pets in ARK. Oak shares his calamitous Halo 5 adventure. There's a bit of contention about new mechanics and story issues, but overall the episode is Halo 5 spoiler free! Now Halo 1-3 are definitely spoiled here. Frank O'Connor talked about why Cortana is naked in the Halo serious and honestly, it's a pretty stupid reason. There was an upset in the eSports world as pro League of Legends player DoubleLift was kicked from his former team CLG, and defected to the rival TSM. Pretty big news for two of the biggest LoL teams in North America. There's also an added dose of drama tacked on by CLG's team owner making some less than professional Tweets about the situation. David Cage's new game Detroit: Become Human is announced and it looks fantastic! All this and much more on Infinite Respawn!
Prometheus Unbound Podcast: Libertarians Talking About Science Fiction and Fantasy
In this January 6, 2010 episode of the Libertarian Tradition podcast series, part of the Mises Institute's online media library, Jeff Riggenbach takes us on a biographical tour of the life of libertarian novelist and philosopher Ayn Rand. In light of then recently released books on Ayn Rand — Jennifer Burns's Goddess of the Market: Ayn Rand and the American Right and Anne C. Heller's Ayn Rand and the World She Made — Riggenbach goes on to chronicle Rand's early life in Soviet Russia, how she got out and immigrated to the United States, her work in Hollywood and her Broadway play, Night of January 16th, and her marriage to Frank O'Connor. Riggenbach then covers the publication of her four major works of fiction: We the Living, Anthem (a novella), The Fountainhead (adapted to film with a screenplay by Rand), and her magnum opus, Atlas Shrugged. He also discusses Rand's relationship with Nathaniel Branden, the formation of her inner circle, the publication of Rand's nonfiction works, and the growth of the Objectivist community.

Joining Luke Smith this week in the studio are podcast veterans Brian Jarrard and Frank O'Connor, with Multiplayer Designer Lars Bakken rounding out the four-part harmony.
