Minister James Brown, who has defined it as “unacceptable in a housing crisis”, has brought a memo to Government on Compulsory Purchase Orders at local Council level. Minister Brown's declaration of war on dereliction follows a warning to Local Authorities from Junior Housing Minister John Cummins that “inconsistency” in tackling vacancy and dereliction is “undermining national efforts”, as he accused some councils of being “too slow to take decisive action”. McMaster shares insights on counterinsurgency warfare, the complexities of U.S.-Russia relations, and the current state of American democracy. He emphasizes the importance of national service and the need for a united American identity, while also addressing the challenges posed by groups like Hamas in the Middle East. The discussion concludes with reflections on the future of U.S. foreign policy and the role of the military in society.

It's claimed a reluctance to acquire derelict properties in rural areas is significantly contributing to Clare's ranking as the county with the ninth highest dereliction rate. It comes as the latest Geodirectory report shows both Clare's vacancy and dereliction levels to be 5%, ranking above the national average for both those measures. That's in spite of a 31% increase to the county's housing stock over the course of the last year, with 684 new addresses registered in Clare, while construction was underway on 664 properties during June. GeoDirectory CEO Dara Keogh has been telling Clare FM's Darragh O'Grady that although the county fares poorly on some of the metrics, there is potential for improvement in the near future.

We will continue our exploration of the Narrative Lectionary by studying the familiar story of Jonah. While Jonah is most well-known for the three days and nights he spent in the belly of a fish, few remember why Jonah found himself in such a peculiar predicament. More than simply setting up the story of Jonah's fishy lodging place, the scripture lesson will teach us a great deal about both the beautiful and brutal dimensions of God's call. As we worship, we may find ourselves relating to Jonah, the sailors, the Ninevites, or potentially, each. Regardless of where we find ourselves this morning, Jonah's story has a powerful word to speak to each of us and God's world. Sermon delivered on Jonah 1:1-17 by the Reverend David J.
