Is Bungie cooked? Destiny 2 lost 97% of its players -- Bungie basically bailed on the game to go all-in on Marathon and the numbers are catastrophic. Since The Final Shape dropped almost two years ago, player count has tanked 97% with Steam barely hitting 10k concurrent -- yeah the live service king is now a ghost town while the devs chase their new extraction shooter and leave endless content droughts behind. No wonder everyone dipped.Watch the podcast episodes on YouTube and all major podcast hosts including Spotify.CLOWNFISH TV is an independent, opinionated news and commentary podcast that covers Entertainment and Tech from a consumer's point of view. Xbox may have just signaled the future of its next generation hardware. At GDC this week Microsoft confirmed Project Helix, a next-generation Xbox initiative built around a custom AMD chip and designed to support both console and PC gaming. But what exactly is Helix — a traditional console successor or something closer to a living-room gaming PC? This week on Xbox Expansion Pass, Luke Lohr (InsipidGhost) and Captain Logun break down everything currently confirmed about Project Helix and what it could mean for the future of the Xbox ecosystem. We also analyze the early player numbers behind Bungie's Marathon, including Steam concurrency and early ownership estimates, and discuss whether the launch trajectory raises questions for Sony's live-service strategy. Plus, Epic Games is changing Fortnite's V-Bucks economy, meaning players will soon receive fewer V-Bucks for the same money. Additional topics include Xbox Gaming Copilot coming to consoles, a major milestone for Silent Hill 2 Remake, and several notable announcements coming out of GDC 2026.

We here at Good Enough Gaming are always wondering what happens in board room meetings at these large companies and how certain decisions are made. The ongoing conclusions are that these people should include us in their meetings so that they might make some decisions that actually benefit gamers and consumers and not just the investors. But before we get on a huge rant about corporate greed, lets discuss what this is really about, and that is the rise of another extraction shooter game coming from the esteemed Bungie studios in Marathon. Will this game meet expectations and thrive, or is this another game that will succumb to the demise if others like it competing for a market that might not accept it at all. This should get explosive, a little soapboxy, and probably full of us making fun of certain games that have flopped horribly in the last few years. Welcome to the sh*tshow!
Episode Summary: While the team is away at GDC in San Francisco, we're bringing you a deep-dive encore of one of our most provocative conversations. What happens when a legendary horror franchise finds its footing by looking backward? This week, we dive into Resident Evil Requiem, exploring why its tight, 10-hour dual-protagonist campaign is a masterclass in modern survival horror—and a perfect fit for gamers with a busy schedule. We also strap on our hover-skates for a review of High on Life 2, discussing how Squanch Games is navigating its new era and whether the controversial new traversal mechanics help or hinder the "Big Pharma" satire. Then, we shift gears to the extraction shooter wars. We share our hands-on impressions from the Marathon Server Slam, questioning if Bungie's bold, neon-soaked UI is a work of art or a usability nightmare compared to the more grounded Arc Raiders. Finally, we trace the 8-year secret history of Valve's Deadlock—from its "Neon Prime" sci-fi roots to its current status as a Steam chart-topper—and explain why this MOBA-shooter hybrid is poised to dominate the industry in 2026. This week on The Gaming Duo, Bungie's long-awaited extraction shooter Marathon has officially launched — and the internet already has strong opinions. We break down our first impressions of the gameplay, the day-one player numbers, and the microtransaction controversy that had the community up in arms. More importantly, Bungie responded within days with changes and fixes. Is that a good sign for the game's future, or is Marathon already fighting an uphill battle in a post-Concord world? Then we shift to a massive industry shake-up: Xbox has officially confirmed its next-gen console, Project Helix. The big twist? It reportedly runs Windows, supports Steam and other PC storefronts, and may blur the line between console and gaming PC entirely. Is this the bold reinvention Xbox needs, or proof that the traditional console model is changing? We also discuss:Whether Marathon's launch numbers are actually strongIf the extraction shooter market can support multiple big gamesWhat a Windows-powered Xbox means for the future of consolesEarly price predictions and concerns for Project HelixAll that plus our weekly gaming segment.

This week on Xbox Expansion Pass, Luke Lohr (InsipidGhost) and Captain Logun examine one of the most interesting weeks in the gaming industry. Xbox has revealed the codename for its next generation hardware — Project Helix — a console designed to bridge the gap between Xbox and PC gaming ecosystems. At the same time, reporting from Bloomberg's Jason Schreier suggests that PlayStation may be reconsidering its strategy of bringing major single-player games to PC, potentially returning to a stronger focus on console exclusivity. We also discuss the launch of Bungie's Marathon, one of Sony's most important live-service releases following the company's $3.6 billion acquisition of Bungie. Topics include: • What Project Helix could mean for Xbox's future • Whether Xbox is building a console-PC hybrid • Sony's possible shift away from PC releases • The launch and early reactions to Marathon • The evolving battle between console exclusivity and platform ecosystems
This week on GameBurst, the team unpacks a turbulent few days for the games industry. Sony has reportedly reversed its strategy of simultaneous PC and console releases, returning first-party titles to a period of PlayStation exclusivity — a significant shift that analysts believe is designed to shore up the platform's appeal ahead of its next hardware cycle. In sadder news, Eurogamer faces a second round of layoffs under IGN parent company Ziff Davis, with senior editors, its video team, and staff behind the popular Outside Xbox YouTube channel among those affected. Meanwhile, Bungie has launched its long-awaited extraction shooter Marathon, pledging to avoid pay-to-win mechanics and "FOMO-inducing" battle passes as it bets heavily on a live-service future. Summer Game Fest 2026 has confirmed its return in June, bringing with it the revived industry event The Game Business Live — and with GTA 6 looming on the horizon, expectations are running high. Finally, in a remarkable piece of gaming history, the US National Videogame Museum has acquired the fabled Nintendo PlayStation prototype, the failed Sony-Nintendo collaboration that inadvertently gave birth to the PlayStation brand. In this week's Picks of the Week, Gary champions the Anglo-Saxon board game Bretwalda, Jerome highlights the indie PC title Sector Unknown and a theatrical wildcard in Phil Porter's BLINK at the King's Head Theatre, while Taylor turns their attention to the Nintendo Switch 2. #gameburst

Then Ben brings on Charles Pulliam-Moore from The Verge to discuss the delights of Pokémon life-sim spinoff ‘Pokopia,' its significance for Switch 2, and the Pokémon franchise's 30th anniversary, evolution, and future, plus a second “Rage Quit” about the Trump administration coopting video games like ‘Pokopia' to make memes. In today's Daily Fix:The KOTOR Remake devs have given an update on the progress of the game, but don't expect much. Saber Interactive have told IGN that, yes, the game is still in development. That's it. In other news, Slay the Spire 2 launched into Early Access this week and it absolutely crushed fellow new game Marathon with almost 5 times as many concurrent players on Steam. Marathon, the new multiplayer shooter from Bungie, has been in development for quite some time, and is a reboot of sorts for Bungie's IP from the 90's. And finally, Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Direct, but this one solely focusing on the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie. You can catch it this Monday at 2pm ET/11am PT.

Starting with Wildlight's HighGuard, which drew heavy criticism for inconsistent art direction, weak gameplay choices, lack of public playtesting, poor performance, and rapidly shrinking player counts, leading to major layoffs and a much smaller remaining team. We argue modern live-service shooters face intense competition and need earlier public feedback, noting broader post-COVID overfunding has produced many failed projects and layoffs, alongside debate over what “indie” means amid publisher funding like Tencent. They compare Eastern and Western development strengths, then review Bungie's Marathon playtest (strong gunfeel, UI/readability issues, clearer art direction improvements) and its competition with Arc Raiders. We close on Xbox leadership changes, the viability of consoles vs software-first strategies, exclusives, and industry uncertainty.Connect with us:•

This week, we welcome our two Roundtablers, Jellis Gaming and Amazing Taco King where we discuss four new topics surrounding our gaming hobby. What's up Guardians, welcome to the newly branded Guardian Down Roundtable. We're a weekly gaming podcast and our mission is simple: 4 topics among 4 friends with a focus on our gaming community. I call you all Guardians because we have a long history with Bungie and the Destiny franchise, and as our show (which was formerly Guardian Down Cast) has grown for nearly 7 years covering this beloved game, we are flying higher and taking a 30,000 foot view bringing to YOU topics surrounding our gaming hobby. Topics including the entertainment/gaming industry, social media, tech and whatever else may impact our love of gaming. The rules are simple, every week we invite members of our community to join us in the conversation by bringing a topic of their own that they want to share with all of us. My co-host, Kingsleymac and I will be here every week while the two other chairs around the table rotate among a list of guest co-hosts hand-picked by us. Once per month, we invite a brand new member of our community, someone who has been actively involved and has made an impact in our discord server and then we hear THEIR story while they also share a topic of their own at the table. Please click the links below to know more about our community:Join Our Discord CommunityOur Website for Everything you Need to KnowLeave us a VoicemailBecome a Member of our Patreon communityJoin us LIVE on YouTubeJoin us LIVE on TwitchTodd's Other Podcasts on SpotifyTodd's Other Podcasts on Apple PodcastsToddtheGatr on XGuardian Down Roundtable on XGDR InstagramGDR Spotify PlaylistGDR Apple Music Playlist
