Join Chicken, Grif, Oak, and Baka on their weekly journey into all things gaming. We talk PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, and everything in between!
This week the show had to be a tad shorter, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything to talk about! In the news: If Nintendo bricks your console is it an overreach or a punishment you agreed to? GTA 6 is delayed and nobody is complaining. Ubisoft finally figured out that delaying games that aren't ready might be a good idea. Also they're in hot water when it comes to data they collect without letting players know. Could the original Devil May Cry get a remake/update? What games of the 2020s will be remembered for being iconic in the future? Was the Steam data breach a big deal? What's everyone playing??? All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast! This week in the news: Warner Brothers closed Monolith and now the Nemesis system is locked behind a patent for who knows how long. Fable has been delayed which sparked the age old conversation about when to announce games in relation to their actual viability. This week Bloober Team has announced a new game hot on the heels of their Silent Hill 2 launch. Nintendo is testing out *something* for the Switch in an online capacity, but they don't want their testers to say what. 343 Studios has changed their name to Halo Studios and dropped their Slipstream Engine in favor of Unreal Engine 5 for the next Halo game(s). And a former Playstation exec argues that there's a lack of creativity in the industry. Is he right? And yes, Grif will indeed talk A LOT about Silent Hill, but she'll keep it pretty spoiler free. Chicken's adding his own difficulty modifier to his playthrough. And Baka is back on his GTA V addiction. All this and much more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast! We're back! After an unintentional month hiatus, it's time to get back to it! In the news: Was Bobby Kotick actually right about something? Does it negate all of his absolutely terrible decisions? (Spoiler: it does not. At all.) Unity had a change of heart (after a swift change of CEO). Concord's downfall was being too positive? And Nintendo is finally getting around to suing the creators of Palworld. Will their suit hold up in court? It's been four weeks, has anyone found anything new to play? Grif's all hyped up about Silent Hill 2. Oak is making waves with Valheim mods. Is Deadlock the next new thing? All this and much more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast! This week in the news: Chicken necro'ed a topic from December! Can you resell your digital games? In more recent news... Concord isn't doing well. Yes it JUST released. No you probably haven't heard about it. At least not until now. (As of two days after recording this episode the game was canned by the studio, by the way.) Valve's new game is also a hero shooter and is apparently doing WAY better than Concord even though it was only just confirmed to have existed. New content is on the way for the October full launch of the Starship Troopers game! Randy Pitchford admits being wrong about something (in a roundabout way in which he doesn't actually say he was wrong). All this and much more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast! Tango Gameworks has a new home after being cut loose by Microsoft. Steam might be getting a better review system. Castlevania is coming to Dead by Daylight. Two games based around John Carpenter's Halloween are on the way (and one about Ash vs Evil Dead!). And good lort, get the popcorn and a comfy blanket, someone let Grif talk about Dragon Age. As for what everyone's been playing: Oak enjoyed Thank Goodness You're Here this week. And everyone's still full tilt into 7 Days to Die. This week in the news: Chicken's faith in another Darksiders game has finally paid off! While it was just a teaser, there was an announcement and he feels SO vindicated. Blizzard is moving some of their King staff over to make AA games based on existing franchises. Big layoffs hit Bungie but the CEO seems to be just fine. And Steam tweaked it's demo settings. On the gaming front: Chicken, Grif, & Baka (who is away at a Circus for this show) are really getting into 7 Days to Die now that it's hit full release. And the group can not get enough of Lethal Company as well! All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast! This week in the news: Microsoft if changing the pricing and packaging of Game Pass. The Halo show is canned after two seasons. Steam is maybe not as big as you think (or does having contract work make a difference). And there's a Bioshock 4 "leaked screenshot" floating around. Is it impressive enough to garner attention? In games: There was no shortage of anger in the group over recent Lethal Company runs. (Don't worry, they love each other, they just argue like they don't!) Oak's excited about the new NCAA football game. And Grif is impressed with DOOM! All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast! This week in the news: SGDQ started and Chicken failed to remind everyone! Exoprimal is nearing extinction. Capcom shares more RE info. Ubisoft is being extra slow on movies and extra fast on AI usage. Also slow on announcing/working on some much requested remakes. Nintendo's not jumping on the AI train so quickly, though. And the new Dragon Age is offering a death-free difficulty which sparks conversation on what constitutes a difficulty curve in a game. As for what everyone has been playing, well it's all over the place! All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast! This week Chicken is vindicated! HE WAS RIGHT (again). In the news: Microsoft closed a few studios even though one of them gave them EXACTLY what they said they were looking for. Square Enix is tired of being exclusive. Nintendo very casually announced the Switch 2 by announcing they... weren't... announcing it yet. Yeah..... Sony surprisingly changed their mind about PSN requirements. Ghost of Tsushima is making huge numbers on it's Steam release. Ubisoft announced a Japan-based Assassin's Creed. GTA 6 won't be out till maybe Fall 2025. And apparently Valve's next game is a hero shooter MOBA. As for what everyone is playing, well lots of driving fast in Forza, Fallout 76, and some interesting updates to Content Warning. All this and more on this week's Infinite Respawn Podcast!
This week in the news: Embracer Group splits into three companies. The names are... questionable at best. Warhammer will reportedly have a PvP mode. Resident Evil 9 might be getting a reveal soon. The next Mario Bros movie will be out in 2026. And SAG-AFTRA is considering a strike due to lack of protections when it comes to AI voice work. This week Oak's out of town AGAIN. Too bad he'll miss a lot of fun stuff! In the news: Microsoft sent out a wave of layoffs across the company includes many from the newly acquired ActiBlizz. MS also might be behind with their next console launch. Will it hurt them to lag behind Sony? Speaking of Sony, Playstation State of Play was this week. Death Stranding 2 got a new trailer, more Silent Hill sneak peaks and debate, and Chicken is still very interested in Rise of the Ronin. Capcom might have up to five different Resident Evil games in the works at the moment. How many of them will we see this year? And for Chicken, Grif, and Baka, it's the end of an era as their World of Warcraft raiding days have come to an end. Luckily they also just started PalWorld to help them during this tough time.
