Our dear John Renesch, a renowned futurist and visionary, passed away September 22, 2022. For several decades John shared his perspectives about a brilliant future of the world. He also saw the trajectory as tenuous - but not hopeless. He saw the slippery slope that the U.S. and the world were traveling toward complete disruption, long before most did. He noted that this was easily apparent in the behavior of individuals in a society, which then created norms of that society. The breakdown though began long before the behavior showed itself. John was a proponent of taking responsibility - for self, for the well-being of community, for one's part in the shaping of culture and society and the political landscape. Twenty years ago he said it was time for our culture to grow up, out of what he characterized as a rebellious teenage stage. It was past time to stand up and take responsibility for contributing to the whole. (Seems like we are regressing…) For John, it was “humanity first.” He said there must be love and compassion and caring for the individual and the whole of humanity for the system to shift trajectory. So, maybe if we start there. Humanity first. If I see everything through humanity first, how does that change my thoughts, actions, and behaviors? It's worth a try. Rest peacefully John. Cheryl Esposito welcomes John Renesch, global futurist, humanitarian, & author, passionate about business, human consciousness & possible scenarios for our future. His latest book The Great Growing Up: Being Responsible for Humanity's Future is Next Generation Indie Book Awards 2013 Grand Prize winner. A businessperson & CEO who started, ran, & sold enterprises, John says commerce is key in shifting human consciousness to create a future of possibility that will allow humanity to transcend the inevitable future being projected from current trends. We are future shapers. We play a role in how the world will be tomorrow, next year & coming generations. John's challenge: give conscious thought to what we want, rather than passively sitting around while a random or even “accidental future” reveals itself. And, while we're at it, stop pretending that what we are doing has no impact on the future. (Note to self: no excuses!) Join Cheryl Esposito & John Renesch to explore Future Shaping!

Hi, my name is David Wetton and welcome to the Conscious Leadership Now Video Podcast The intent of this Podcast is to encourage you as a leader to embrace Conscious Leadership, by giving you access to some of the world’s leaders in the field of Conscious Leadership, both in practice and in thought. My guest today is John Renesch.  John has spent over half a century as a businessman/entrepreneur. He describes himself as an advisor, mentor, futurist and writer on matters of social and organizational change. He believes that commerce holds the key to bringing about a global shift of human consciousness, thus creating a future of tremendous possibility for humankind. Link to John's website with over 1,000 articles, blog posts, and newsletter which has run for over 20 years: http://renesch.com/ Link to John's video - A Maverick Futurist's Vision: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkwG4adj-xk Link to John's latest book 'The Great Growing Up: Being Responsible for Humanity's Future': https://www.amazon.com/Great-Growing-Up-Responsible-Humanitys/dp/1935387189/ John states that ‘The biggest crisis in the world today is the lack of really effective leadership – what he calls “conscious leadership.” “Conscious leadership” is the term John coined back in the 1980s to communicate the quality being called for in leading people, organizations and society through this historic species-wide transformation and determining a positive future for our children and grandchildren to inherit. John was a founding member of The Conscious Leadership Guild, set up in 2018 The purpose of the Conscious Leadership Guild is to strengthen the competency and consciousness of its members in order to have more conscious leadership in place throughout the world. John was also Inaugural Board Chair of the Shaping Tomorrow’s Foresight Network, and Co-founder of FutureShapers. Warren Bennis, the late international leadership expert, called John “a wise elder who shines with wisdom. Indeed through his wisdom John has published 14 books to date, his latest being ‘The Great Growing Up’, which received the 2013 Grand Prize for Non-Fiction from the Next Generation Indie Books Awards. The Great Growing Up carries a subtitle ‘Being Responsible for Humanity’s Future’  This seems so apt for our times now. As you say in the book, “We require a new level of maturity, taking responsibility for the whole, being accountable for our choices, individually and collectively. We must grow up! My heartfelt wish is that you leave this podcast feeling inspired, with ideas to take away and implement in your business or organisation, to make a real difference in our world.   If you’ve enjoyed this Podcast and my approach to Conscious Leadership, then please know that I Help Aspiring Conscious Leaders develop Purpose-Led, High Performing Leadership Teams through 1:1 Coaching & Tailored Leadership Programmes. If you sense I can help you, then please look me up, David Wetton, on LinkedIn and let’s jump on a conversation together. https://www.linkedin.com/in/dwetton/ I truly believe that Now is the Time for Conscious Leadership; and with all the inspiring, heartfelt work you, as viewers, are doing, I have no doubt that Conscious Leadership will become a thriving reality.  …Making a difference for the greater good of All. So until next time, I’ll leave you with a blessing from John O’Donohue: ‘May the light of your soul  bless the work you do  with the secret love  and warmth of your heart’  …And so it is
